    It shows $587.40

  • Any other dell eofys items?

  • Ports
    1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C® port with DisplayPort 1.4 (on 12th Gen Processor configured with Type-C®)

Since this is 11gen, so it doesn’t support DP hence 4K output? That will be weird.

    • Shopback 14% cashback! Great Deal!
    • +1

So around $504 effectively after that?

  • Sh!t screen.
    Iris Xe igpu.
    Good Price!

    • +1

      What's wrong with the screen?

      • +4

45% NTSC colour space coverage. around 60% sRGB. means washed out colours

        • +1

I think, 45% NTSC = 72% sRGB as Lenovo used them interchangeably.

For basic Office work, Web Browsing, even watching YouTube, it will be fine. But may not be suitable for Graphics work.

          • @bobokingdom: What's the PAL %?

          • @bobokingdom: when Dell says 45% NTSC it just means "forget about color accuracy, cheapo panel used", and the actual sRGB coverage can be anywhere between 60 to 80%

72% NTSC on the other hand in Dell language means "close to full sRGB coverage"

            Lenovo is similar.

            • @shabaka: Thank you for the info. It seems most Dell / Lenovo / HP entry and mid range models only has 45% NTSC these days. :(

    • It's not Iris Xe

      • +1

Hmm… something perhaps wrong in the description as that CPU apparently does feature Iris Xe https://laptoping.com/cpus/product/intel-core-i5-1135g7/

        • If you actually go to the Dell site you see it's an option when you build it, but it's extra.

          • @dav3: Isn't it built into the CPU? How can it be an option?

            • @Mr Bob Dobalina: Because different CPUs are options?

The Dell configurator lets you choose either graphics options on the 1135G7 too, might be a mistake on their end though

This vs a discounted surface laptop go 2?
I'm waiting for another surface deal like last black friday. But if this is better I might forgo holding on to the pipeline dream

    • +1

Comparing very different beasts, but I got that Surface Laptop Go 2 from a previous deal here and didn't keep it. Build quality was outstanding for the price, but the design is relatively top heavy, with a hinge that isn't very firm, and the highly reflective glossy display was a bit of a regression to the bad old days when it was hard to find a laptop without one. Thought I wouldn't be fussed as got it as a cheap (at least in the deal) secondary laptop, but was wrong.

Should be relatively easy to find one in store to try out and make sure it's what you want. This cheap Dell probably has its own issues.

      • Thanks so much for this advice. My current laptop is a 2011 MacBook Pro which is glossy. So understand your frustration. Thanks for the advice

    • Where can you see a Laptop Go 2 around this price please?

      • +1

Last was around black friday last year as per my comment

  • +2

It's reasonably light for a budget 15 inch laptop. Dull screen tho, you could barely use this outdoors or in a bright environment, like a cafe. Though 120Hz is a plus.. Not often seen in this price range.

  • Hey guys any feedback on the Vostro 7620 Laptop?
    https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/vostro-7620-lap…

It's $1887.60 in the EOFY section on dell store. I'm looking for a laptop with at least 15" / 16gb ram/ 256gb/ not oled. Also, is there any other laptop i should look for? Thanks

    • +1

bit of a weak display for the price

    • +1

I'd go for this. There are a couple of skus with a 3050 6gb for ~$1600 if a dgpu is needed.

  • +1

Whats the model number for this laptop?

  • -2

Can you use the dell USB C docks with it

  • +5

I was wanting to buy this, but lots of reviews of overheating and hinges breaking is putting me off. Anyone who has used this model can give some feedback please?

    • +3

Look on reddit. This is a lemon laptop.

      • +2

You would probably see the same thing for every budget laptop. Crap screens, plastic parts and inadequate cooling is how they make these cheap.

I am sure this laptop is fine for someone who will only use it occasionally. I have the better speced version of the previous gen and it in fine for my needs.

    • Dell low-mid range laptops are shit. Expect batteries to crap out soon after warranty and broken hinges or screen coming apart and all that. After two Dell laptops that cost me more in repairs than the purchase price, I swore to never again get these lemons

  • -2

    Any empty RAM slot

  • muzeeb we still miss you

  • peopl still use 15inch laptops for non-gamig purposes?

  • The ports posted are wrong, these are the correct ones:
    1. SD Card Reader
    2. USB 2.0
    3. Headset jack
    4. Power Jack
    5. HDMI 1.4
    6. USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
    7. USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A

    • -2

Why should we believe you over another source of information? Especially considering you don't list any USB Type-C port.

      • Because it says so farther down the page

      • Yeah clearly shows a USB C on all the pics and top specs.

    • There are two variants of this model, one with 2x USB A on the left side and another with 1x USB A and 1x USB C. Look at Pg 7/8 in the user manual:

      https://dl.dell.com/content/manual20296756-inspiron-15-3520-…

The variant for sale here apparently has the USB C port.

  • +4

Pg 43 of the service manual shows 2 SODIMM slots:

    https://dl.dell.com/content/manual20360391-inspiron-15-3520-…

    Seems to be easily upgradable.

Beware- my wife bought an Inspiron Touchscreen in Nov 2021 (out of warranty now) - ended up with a poor microphone gain issue, causes people on the other side being able to barely hear during video-conferencing. Tried re-installing drivers etc, but the problem is still ongoing. :(

    • +3

Suggest using a basic headset for calls as even premium laptops have terrible mics.

      • +1

That's what she's doing. My daughter and I have business-grade laptops (i.e. Latitude), their mics are okay. I think Dell just cheaped out in the consumer segment here.

  • +1

16GB memory is much better for long use

  • I have the generation prior to this. Worst laptop I've ever owned (going back to the 90s). Sluggish, noisy, poorly ventilated, garbage display. Cheap and nasty feel. Just pay more and get something that isn't awful.

  • Apparently 14% cashback from cashrewards. However only $27.96 reward captured on $998.80 spend. Any ideas anyone?

  • The xps actually looks decent just a big price jump.

  • I Had a talk with Dell help. Hinges are not covered in warranty !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would stay miles away from this laptop, as the hinges on these laptops are prone to failure. If hinges fails, good luck, your laptop is now a brick

    • Thanks for checking! This makes no sense to me. Its understandable that warranty does not cover misuse, but its how can warranty omit a part of the product?

      • Hinges are only covered if you take accidental damage cover.

      • -1

Same way laptop batteries are generally 12 months, same way a lot of "consumable" car parts have a limited warranty, etc.

Wear and tear items often aren't covered by a standard warranty.

  • +1

I mean, you pay for what you get. I got this one 2 years ago with i7-cpu, around $1.2k, pretty good look, clean design and light weighted, good for use as working laptop and watch movie/videos.

I would buy the cheapest combo and open the back of laptop, add another 8GB laptop ram stick to make it 16GB memory, would be really nice to use.

  • +2

Got the laptop today. Its very plasticky and feels fragile. for the hardware specs its OK as a home laptop with external Keyboard and Monitor
