  • great deal for NSW pickup, otherwise 45 shipping to VIC

  • Thank you so much! Needed a scanner and printer for drawing and colouring. Absolute bargain.

Lexmark is too expensive to run as there are no 3rd party options for toner or drum.

    • +1

Yeah thats a massive deal breaker for me. Rather get brother. At least you can get 3rd party toners.

      • I don't like lexmark myself - had terrible trouble with them, but:

the replacements are around $115 a cartridge for 1200 standard pages that is 9.5 cents a page - and that isn't good enough? For the mucking around with inks and chips etc as opposed to simply dropping the cartridge in - for some this is OK.

Brother is the way to go.

With Brother the 3rd party toner/drum running cost works out to ~$76 for 12,000 pages (~0.63c per page)

        • 3,000 page toner (~$14)
        • 12,000 page drum (~$20)

With this Lexmark the toner/drum running cost is 10 times higher at ~$750 for 12,000 pages (6.25c per page)

        • 3,000 page toner (~$150) (Note: The toner included with the printer has a 700 page yield)
        • 12,000 page drum (~$150)

Which Brother printer would you recommend. thanks.

            @GeoK: Multifunction printer/scanner?

            Brother MFC-L2730DW or MFC-L2750DW.

            MFC-L2750DW supports 2-sided (duplex) scanning.

yah this printer is a trojan horse

it looks good for $150 but the carts are EXPENSIVE

          Genuine Standard Yield (1,200 pages - $104.73)
          Genuine High Yield (3,000 pages - $161.16)
Genuine Extra High Yield (6,000 pages - $305.76)

i have a Fuji Xerox ie Brother that uses 2,500 page $10 carts

also have a HP but that's another story

          • @tonyjzx: Which Fuji is this, any good supplier in qld

Can I print directly from phone?

    • -1

      google lexmark and ask?

    • +3

Yes, place the phone on the flatbed scanner and press copy

  • +2

    Lexmark still exists?

I have horrible memories from uni with this brand printer!!

    • they used to make fantastic workgroup printers and form printers but they are priced for big enterprise companies

i'm fond of them as they were low maintenance if you're an ASX200 type company… ie. not my coin

  • how is this compared with Brother Wireless Mono Laser MFC Printer MFC-L2750DW?

  • I prefr Brother. They have cheap powder from Aliexpress. Very easy to reset counter, easy to refill.

  • Looks like a good deal. Shame it doesn't do duplex scanning, would snap it up if it did.
