I always laugh at these brands, as they don't warrant the bags while in transit with an airline, literally their job and they are advertising it as tough and made for travel etc, yet they don't provide warranty for any part of the process involved with flying. I don't have any recommendations, just so stupid. My last tourister had the whole lock section fall out while in the hands of the airline. It took months to get it resolved through the airline.

    • yet they don't provide warranty for any part of the process involved with flying

I would suggest that this makes sense? If your bag is damaged during transit (regardless of build quality of the suitcase), it is up to the airline to compensate you. This is same as if you had a car accident or someone damaged your car, you don't go back to the car manufacturer to claim warranty, you claim damages from the person/party who damaged your car.

Yes, but it also suggests it isn't strong enough to survive being through basic travel right? My last two american tourister bags broke during transit. I wanted my bags to last longer than a single flight.

        • but it also suggests it isn't strong enough to survive being through basic travel right?

Your experiences with the previous two bags that broke during transit can suggest that they were not strong enough, or it can suggest that the airline/ground staff at the airports didn't treat your bags with the necessary due care, hard to know which. My ATs have lasted me quite a few international flights, even my Kmart ones did too, not sure if I'm just lucky or what.

          • @assailantsky: My Kmart ones are going on 3 years with 3 overseas trip too. The same trips.

      • But car manufacturers doesn't claim their cars to be durable and made for accidents.

Does any manufacturer claims their suitcases are indestructible? Tough is a marketing term because it is subjective. Re. Car manufacturers, Toyota Hilux unbreakable ads comes to mind, are ppl claiming warranty when their hilux have accidents and break?

        • This metophore doesn't work. It's like saying This 4WD is tough, can go off road, it's made for off road - but then not provide warranty for any off road activities.

I suggest you are more realistic with spending $200 for a set while some other brands/model triple the price for a piece. I've a 3 pieces Antler bought over 10 years ago and still going strong. They will not break easily but it would be unwise to claim their suitcase is indestructible unless you're willing to pay the price tag.

  • Price is showing as $299 with onepass?

    • They’ve removed the extra onepass discount
