    * Designed in France

    Built in ??

      China

      • Why did they leave that out ?

        • -3

          What difference does that make?

          • @zeomega: Exactly, so why put down where it was designed but leave out where it was built?

          • +1

@zeomega: When buying a product you have no preference of where it was made?

      Yeah wow thats pretty heavy…

That's where the "Armour" comes in the name.

        • If my math is correct, that leaves 2.4kg of luggage that you can fit into this case for carry-on on the plane, correct? (Limit of 7kg)
Would you be better off using this for check in luggage then?

          • @Conan2099: The size itself (78cm) limits this to check in luggage only… For carry on luggage you are looking at 55 - 56cm

            • @jordn: oh right, got it. Thanks for the clarification mate. Cheers.

@Conan2099: It’s pretty bad… my ten year old Cosmolite is like half the weight. I’m sure the newer ones are better or you can find a second hand samsonite

  • How much warranty?

    • Good question. 2 year warranty. I'll add this to the description.

  • Any ozbargain faves in terms of large luggage. Hard or soft case not worried. Budget but decent.

    • I got some Samsonite cases from Costco. Held up quite well.

    • I had samsonite that got destroyed by Qantas on the first use, qantas replaced it with a Desley, and I’ve had that for 7 years it’s brilliant . They apparently supply all their staff with Desley as well

I think someone posted here that Delsey used to be quality, but was sold off and is now just trading on the legacy name?

    GPT advice:

Polycarbonate is generally considered sturdier than ABS for bags.

    Key Differences:

Impact Resistance: Polycarbonate has significantly higher impact resistance than ABS. This means it can withstand more force and is less likely to crack or break if dropped or mishandled during travel.
Flexibility: Polycarbonate is more flexible than ABS. This allows it to absorb impacts better without cracking or breaking. ABS, being more rigid, is more prone to cracking under pressure.
Durability: Polycarbonate is more durable overall. It is less likely to warp or deform over time and is also more resistant to scratches and scuffs.
Weight: Polycarbonate is slightly heavier than ABS, but the difference is usually not significant.
Cost: Polycarbonate is typically more expensive than ABS.
    In summary:

If you prioritize sturdiness and durability, polycarbonate is the better choice.
If you're on a budget, ABS is a more affordable option, but it may not be as long-lasting.
    Additional factors to consider:

Frequency of travel: If you travel frequently, the extra durability of polycarbonate is worth the investment.
Handling of luggage: If you anticipate your luggage being handled roughly, polycarbonate is the safer bet.
Personal preferences: Some people prefer the look and feel of one material over the other.

    4.6kg. NO Thank you

  • Have used Delsey for past 12 years travel and always hold up well, price is very good for the quality and also light at 4.6kg 78cm for a hard case. Amazon basics spinner 78cm hard shell is 5.4KG, Samsonite 75cm hard shell @ 4.7kg. I would get this if needed, I already have pretty new Delsey cases also purchased from POK, definetly give them a thumbs up!!
Edit: I lie! you can get a Samsonite hard shell 75cm at 3.3kg for $899 so if you are up for paying that, then YES! you can get lighter ;)

  • ABS is heavier as well

  • Those wheels look fragile
