Just got an email that the base price dropped by $50. I've been eyeing this upgrade for a while and I believe this is an ATL for this CPU.
Very tempting.

cry?
Ask them politely to refund the difference, I've managed to do this several times saves them the hassle of doing a return.
You can ask Computer Alliance if they’ll help you out with a partial refund or cancel the order and re-buy. Else unless you can find a price match against one of eBay’s “approved retailers” (unlikely), you’re out of luck I’m afraid.
I just went through this with a purchase that dropped in price the morning after I purchased.
James from Computer Alliance assisted me with organising a refund for price adjustment. Very helpful!
Great to hear. They've had great customer service in the past, I'll definitely be purchasing from them when I bite the bullet.
I just sent Computer Alliance a message about this, as i bought this late last week at the $879 base price
They are happy to refund the difference, but requires few extra steps.
Great shop and will continue to buy/support them
They are great to deal with when I've bought stuff from them in the past.
Very tempted to upgrading by trusty i7-6700k. But I have to buy this + new mobo + DDR5 Ram (newer AM5 dont support DDR4 IIRC)
Same, looks like it would cost $1200-1300 for the combo with 32GB DDR5 which isn't too bad.
Also, I have GTX1080 so that needs to be swapped as well, otherwise I would be bottlenecked af. so, Add to that ~$2k for a high end GPU :D
Ah wtf… literally just picked up my 7900X3D from Scorptec for 889…
Could have bought it for 743.
Time to hand my Ozbargain card in.
edit: and yuck. Got a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite today from Umart for 490. It'd be 463 from these guys.
$173 difference, jeezuzzz. Never log into Ozbargain when you've just bought something.
Swings and roundabouts.
Anyone have any good value motherboard recommendations to go with this?
With "Thunderbolt" support would be nice too. It looks like all the AM5 motherboards just have 20gbps USB4 though, not the full 40gbps?
Afaik, the only motherboard with thunderbolt controller is the Asus pro art x670e and that's not cheap.
What could I do if I bought this 2 days ago via the same store for $700?
