Sound Blaster Katana V2 Gaming Soundbar $499.95 Delivered (RRP $549.95) @ Creative Australia

50

Not the cheapest ever, but if you're in the market for a computer soundbar this seems reasonable

The Sound Blaster Katana V2 houses a game-changing tri-amplified design whereby the amplifiers are controlled by our proprietary multicore DSP to drive each of the mid-range drivers, tweeters, and subwoofer driver individually. The result is strong and impactful sound reproduction at every frequency.

Sound Blaster Katana V2 is also fitted with all-new, upgraded 3/4” fabric dome tweeters with the ability to produce cleaner and more refined highs, as well as larger subwoofer driver for deeper and sonorous bass. From heart-thumping action movies to stirring melodies in the latest hits, the Sound Blaster Katana V2 allows you to hear every detail regardless of content played.

I waited ages for this to be on sale, ended up just picking up a Yamaha soundbar from Amazon. Been doing well.

    • I never waited for this as I have enough RGB behind the monitor and the PC case (A lot lol) and bought a Yamaha Soundbar from Amazon which is great as it has a remote so it's great for watching from far (bed) and this doesn't.

I think it set me back close to $200 when it was on special.

      • was/is this the same soundbar as @starburstyellow?

I personally this one in red for $235. It's now $225!!

          • @starburstyellow: Is there enough room for thick keyboard and mouse cables to run underneath the Yamaha soundbar? From the pictures it looks like it sits quite flush on the desk.

@[Deactivated]: Here's my setup. I have wireless everything. But I have the cables running parallel to the sound bar for charging.

@[Deactivated]: Just had a look, there is a tiny gap but any normal cable is too thick. The keyboard cable goes under it and pushes the soundbar up a tad.

@starburstyellow: Thanks for checking - it blows my mind that gaming/computer soundbars don't all accommodate room for cables underneath given a lot of gamers like wired peripherals, or at least include optional feet that can be attached.

Even the Katana V2 isn't raised, though strangely enough the aging the original Sound BlasterX Katana is raised.

The Razer Leviathan V2 is also raised, but too bad the input options for it are horrible.

@starburstyellow: thanks for the info and link .. =)

    • which soundbar from Yamaha did you pick up?

    • For those considering Yamaha soundbar I recommend also considering pairing it with a used Yamaha subwoofer off Gumtree or EBay and a subwoofer cable off Amazon (check the soundbar model for a subwoofer port).

There have been awesome deals that sometimes pops up such as NS-SW100 for $100-150.

  • Need to plug a Snark Barker into this Creative Sound Bar for nostalgia purposes…
