These are falling by the day…

    • +4

      Yep but not fast enought…

  • +5

not bad! solid 1440p card for nickels, 12gb VRAM for peace of mind, gigabyte eagle cooler (not sure it's a pro, more like a con, but hey it's not the worst, and look at the price!)

can't say it's the king of 1440p, but very decent indeed at this price

    https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/gigabyte-rx-6700-xt-ea…

TechPowerUp with dimensions and photos above for those of you with limited space to get a feel for cable mgmt (needs 8 and 6 pin)

fits fine in the Razer Tomahawk I posted earlier

    • how well does this hold up in 1440p though for future AAA titles that is the question.

      • +1

there's a lot of confusion on the market rn which is playing into the hand of GPU manufacturers

for reference TLOU p.1 plays fine on my 8gb 3070. in 4k with DLSS enabled

but it's a very close fit

there's crap load of great games that exist and will continue to play great in 4k within 8gb of VRAM

what everyone concerned about VRAM because of those pesky console ports should be getting this for 1440p or 6800 (xt) for 4k.

if 1440p is your choice, this is a great deal

        4k - wait for a good deal on 6800

        • -1

well if there rated to be good at a certain resolution then they technically should be able to play most games at 1440p ultra I know my 6600 XT is king of 1080p res at ultra. because its designed to get high frame rates at 1080p. Does it suck at 1440p well no depending on the games it can do alot of game at high FPS in ultra at 1440p, it does a good job at even hiting 60fps on 1440p on very demanding newer titles as well. It struggles though on cyber punk at 1440p ultra lol 8 to 10fps, but you get the point. if they rate it for a certain res it just means it very good at running at that res doesn't mean it can't do other resolutions.

  • +6

Wish 6800 XT would fall to around 600

    • +2

prety sure it did I saw a post of it I think yesterday they all sold out though.

      • +1

        They were used miner cards

        • +2

And this a new Gigabyte card, the same risk. XD

          • @Forth: yep just like there power supplies it could blow up :D

        • yes but they came with 1 year warrenty

      • Yeah, I've impulse bought it yesterday, no questions asked. I fear that with amd constantly scaling back on productions, even second hand cards might not drop much more. Even the 6600xt price remain stagnant and have never reached their lowest of 300AUD since the refresh.

    • That was my target for a GPU upgrade too. Found one on marketplace for 600, used but in great nick. Good enough for me!

  • Fire sale , they know what’s coming

    • Whats coming?

      • +1

        Who is coming?

        • +1

          Why is coming?

        • Gabbo

        • +1

          Lilith. Diablo 4.

          Hell is coming.

          Melbourne.

        • Whom is coming over?!

  • Gee these have dropped in price. I paid more for a Gigabyte Eagle RX 6600 early last year.

    • Paid double for 6600xt at launch!

      • +1

You paid $920 for a 1080p card? Wow.

        • +6

shhh don't say that, those who bought 4060 Ti could be listening

          • @shabaka: I've heard of these people only in legend. Surely, you're not insinuating they're actually among us?

        • -3

No such thing as a 1080p card.

          • -1

@lordezekiel: Because sometimes not even 1080p it is capable of. lol

          • -2

@lordezekiel: Don't act like you don't know what that term means

      • I sold my 5600 XT for the same price and got the 6600 XT upgrade for free with a profit :D The pandemic defintally drove prices up for the used market.

  • Is the A620 worth it when there are B650 boards within 30 bucks difference?

  • Damn, just bought that 6800XT Mined second hand card posted on here a couple of days ago for $599.

    • +2

You got a better card. It's a good price but i feel like that's what they should be new

      • Is it a big jump, because its a $150 more plus being second hand and mined, i thought maybe the jump isnt that great. but if it is then thats good.

        • +1

6800xt is a solid 4k card, with plenty of VRAM too

good buy, and has warranty. don't worry, you're good for a couple years if not more

          • @shabaka: Thanks, load of my mind. Hard to keep up with the different models, It used to be that each model was a small jump up, these days it seems to vary alot.

            • +1

@lonewolf: we're between generations, and pricing is weird. also new gen is a bit weird, too, not providing sensible upgrade at every resolution, so often last gen is a better choice

I hope your card doesn't have coil whine? my 6700 and 6800 made all sorts of annoying electronic noise I couldn't stand, so I sold them on and settled for a new 3070 for the same price you paid for 6800xt

everyone keeps screaming 8gb is not enough fpr a new card in 2023 (even I did), but I don't care much about console ports, I have a console they are designed for..

              • @shabaka: oh, havent heard about this issue, I havent got the card yet, Hopefully it doesnt. I dont think any of my older cards had that noise issue.

                • @lonewolf: same! it was kind of bad revelation for me this year. 2060 I had before was quiet, and 3070 is the same

but Pulse radeon 6700 and powercolor 6800 were so noisy. and once again that not fans, that was electronic components noise that was much stronger in game menus and when FSR was engaged. go figure

fingers crossed yours is fine! different model and manufacturer

  • Is that not the dodgiest computer store website?

    • +2

no, there's still EYO and then CenterCom, so not rock bottom

    • +8

pours a drink out for parts.pdf

      • simpler times. i could compare all the options in one tiny square of a pdf document.

Mwave drives me insane, doesn't matter what you filter for there is always a stupid "Featured Products" at the top.

    • +1

They still have a floppy drive and "ATI graphics card" category lol

    • lol looks like it was written by some highschool kid back in the 90s

  • -1

I dunno this or 4070 for double the price and nearly double the performance?

    • Or a 6800 XT for near/at 4070 performance and cheaper price

    • +1

this is a good 1440p card, and got enough VRAM to roll for a few years at that res

if that's all you need, why pay more

4k is a different story, this card will struggle and you will need upscaling. if you need 4k, look elsewhere. like suggested above 6800xt ex mining with 1yr warranty is a great 4k card for the buck

    • 4070 is nowhere close to being double performance outside of raytracing heavy games.

  • +2

Negotiated a second hand one down to $400 towards the end of last year, new price getting pretty close!

  • -2

Got the 6700xt for this price a year ago, i think HOLDers held for too long. Better late than never.

  • Why aren't the fomo idiots clearing these out of stock? After 2.5 years I thought there was and endless supply of consumerist cattle. Maybe prices will continue to fall.

    • +1

Home mining is dead and now the stockists no doubt have thousands no one wants

      • +1

Yep and hopefully all the gamers who "needed" a gpu finally have one. Aka the other demand driver

This seems like a good deal. I would've bought it for this price 12 months ago, and if it was a sapphire pulse instead of eagle.

  • Oh yes, the netscape era site experience. Something incredibly therapeutic about buying a GPU from this site. But only if you can add creative sound blaster live in the cart too.

    • +1

Unfortunately when it comes to older sound card they've only got the Sound Blaster Audigy RX. Still it must even be based upon an old model sound card because it mentions Windows XP support.

      https://www.ccpu.com.au/show_prod.php?class_id=sound&prod_id…

      • Haha oh wow, what a find, well done. Yeah I think you're right, it might be based on an old design, if they just got rid of the Windows 7 and above support from the description, it would complete the trip down memory lane :D

        • +1

The chipset is based upon the Audigy 4 which is from the mid 2000's. So yeah if you want a current new sound card with some old tech with Windows XP support this may be the one to get. However it's a PCI-e sound card so you can only use it on a PCI-e motherboard. No retro PCI support.

          "Sound Blaster Audigy Rx

The Sound Blaster Audigy Rx (SB1550), released in September 2013, uses E-MU CA10300 from Audigy 4, but with a dedicated 600-ohm headphone amplifier, one TOSLINK optical output, and a PCI Express ×1 interface supported via a PLX Technology bridge controller.[12][13]"

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster_Audigy

  • Looks like the price is now $510
