Disney Plus Yearly Membership: TRY₺649.90 (~A$42) + ₺33.29 (A$2.16) Admin Fees @ Disney Plus via Turkey (No VPN Required)

I thought it would be a great idea to re-share this workaround since it’s still much cheaper than Aus membership ($139.99). And with the Turkish lira being even weaker, the price it's even more attractive.

For Android users: reported not to work anymore

  1. Create new Google account on phone
  2. Delete cache in Google Play Store (not sure if needed)
  3. Select new account in Google Play Store
  4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
  5. Uninstall Disney+ if you have it installed.
  6. Open Google Chrome/browser on your phone in an incognito window. Set your window to desktop mode.
  7. Search Disney+ on Google Play store in your browser.
  8. Log in on new account and remote install Disney+ to your phone
  9. Open app on phone and pay in TRY

For iOS users:

  1. Create Turkish Apple ID

Go to https://appleid.apple.com/account
Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID and save.

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

  2. Go to App Store and download Disney Plus app > A pop up may appear to confirm your details > Choose payment method as “None”

  3. Buy TL iTunes gift cards from TurGame (50TL/TRY x 13 gift cards) > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.

  4. Redeem iTunes gift cards(apple.co) by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

  5. Open Disney Plus App > Sign Up

    Managed to get this to work by installing the Disney + app onto my google TV through the google play store (new Turkey account made) in google chrome. Add your Aussie credit card to your Turkey google account. Once Disney + was installed on my TV, just signed up through the TV and paid in TRY. $4.10 a month. BOOM! Thanks!

    Hey Scroonge, I just want to point out that long running deals must be posted exactly 6 months after the previous post, to the minute (plus 1 min)

    I had scheduled my complete guide to Disney Plus to be posted on the minute, but you posted a few hours early. If you posted under the correct timeframe then yeah fair enough, but I feel it’s completely unfair that mods are allowing this. It feels like double standards to me. I can’t be mad at you, because you probably didn’t know, but just saying for next time. Personally I feel it is not fair to me having spent time and even money on a long post, making sure it is the best one for the ozb community.

    Anyway, if anyone wants to see my complete guide to Disney Plus, please upvote or reply to this comment and I will post it as a comment.

        ISP had to coordinate with me to ask me to login into his account and help him post a deal because he went out fishing and had no internet for a long period. I went into penalty box for more than 6 hours because of this and wasn’t pleased

          I wasn't aware of the rule that it needs to be posted to the minute. I have requested for the post to be removed as ISP updated and complete guide will benefit Ozbargainers. Honestly you should have messaged me, and I would have done that earlier.
          As for the 3 reports of duplicate, I can't see who reports or the reasoning.

    • How long will my gift card take to arrive? Turgame processes gift cards in their local timezone. If you're purchasing in the daytime, expect a long wait. If you're purchasing at 6pm onwards, expect a very fast delivery

  • Tried the IOS method. Could not renew expired existing Disney account because it keep asking you to 'renew payment method' on app store, which rejects Australian cards.

      • I already loaded 100 TRY into the turkish apple ID (trying to renew for one month). The expired sub was a yearly sub, could that be the reason ?

        After trying everything, I set up a new Disney account instead and managed to subscribe for monthly with the TRY gift card balance.

        But I wish I could renew my old account which tracked what I watched.

    Shows in AUD but when you click it, show TRY. So make sure you click all the way through!

  • Tried the IOS method and not working for me. When I clicked on the monthly option, I get the following error - "in-app purchases are not allowed". Tried multiple times with the same problem. Logging out, deleting Disney+ app and reinstalling nothing works. Can someone please let me know what am I missing?

  • anyone tried to use OlduBil for paying Disney+? I tried to add oldubil to my Turkey Apple ID but it always rejected even I already had the VPN on. Not sure if this vcc would work directly in Disney+

      • my friend added the oldubil card to apple id using the phone wihtout vpn. I was doing that via web.
        He was trying to sub Apple TV+ but it's not available in Turkey :D

      • I just managed to activate 1-year subscription using OlduBil.

        Step 1: Went for 1-year subscription from Disney App downloaded with Turkey ID.
        Step 2: Turkey Apple ID asked for a credit card and OlduBil was accepted.
        Step 3: Succesful in activating a 1-year subscription.

        Please note, I used my existing Disney account which I cancelled last week to try out this deal. Also, I did not use any VPN.

        I hope there won't be any issue with the account!

    I just did this with my iPhone and PC (for initial account setup). Worked perfectly. Actually came to $38 AUD for the year. Here's what I did;

    1. Setup Turkish Apple ID on PC
    2. Purchased 4x 150 TL and 1x 50 TL Turkish iTunes vouchers from TurGame (discounts for the 150TL - was 148TL for them). This equaled $38.
    3. Signed out of my iphone and in with my new Turkish Apple ID.
    4. Redeemed the TL iTunes vouchers
    5. Downloaded Disney+, signed in to my deactivated Aussie Account, subscribed for the year and voila.

    Happy days. Thankyou.

    Unrelated to Disney, but I'm trying the same trick, with a different app (game) and an IAP, it's rejecting my card and sending me to some Google Security advice page, so I was thinking of trying to use a Gift Card balance.

      Yes I have the same issue with a Turkish Google card from Turgame - they said it's probably my vpn not connecting to Turkey as I was using the free winscribe one - I haven't had a chance to try again since

        The issue I have is using my CC todo an IAP is failing for some reason in a different app. It worked fine for Disney though.

    Hi, i’m trying the Android method, sign up from the app but it keep saying I need to subscribe & the only option is to log out. Everything else was good up until this signing up/logging in step. Anyone have an idea what’s wrong? I’m already locked in a Turks account & cannot change back to Aus until next 12 months :( they dont allow you to update Google country more than 1 in 12 mths

      After uninstalling Disney+ again, I downloaded and installed an older Disney+ apk from apkpure and it worked for me. V2.8.0-rc2 is the version I chose.
      I haven't updated it to the latest version so not sure if it will break again.

        • Go to apkpure dot com on your phone browser and search for it there. You may need to use the apkpure app to install it but can't recall sorry.

      I had the same error today. I tried joetrim's advice and went to APKMirror and downloaded the version he suggested - V2.08-rc2 (its an apk from mid 2022) and it worked.
      I was logged into the Türkiye Google account beforehand, so it had the TRY price when it installed and was able to subscribe. Works fine on Sony TV and on mobile with current apk from google store/apple store. I just used to old APK to subscribe. I chose monthly and have a pending of AUD$3.61 today

    Followed the notes but the subscribe button doesn't show (it just says 'you're not currently subbed') unless I VPN to Turkey, then worked fine from there.

    • How did you get pass the payment error. Which VPN are you using?

  • I think they’ve cotton on, I can’t use my PIN to sign into my profile to watch as it says incorrect PIN. When I connect to Turkey VPN then it allows me to sign into a profile using PIN. As soon as I turn off VPN I can’t sign into the PIN as it’s incorrect again. This is on iOS. On my Sony TV it gives a region error message. I’ve got Disney+ through Apple Turkey from about 4 months ago. Hmmm 🤔

    • I posted this msg well over a day ago and reported this. I’m now negging this to warn others that they have picked up on geo location. Use at your own risk. My sub is supposed to be until May 2024, now I can’t use Disney+ without activating Turkey VPN!

      Also if you look to join other members advertising in classifieds, make sure you confirm what their sub is. If it’s through Turkey, again join at your own risk!!!

    I am hoping someone can figure out why the turkey method for android errors.

    1. Without VPN - when you log in it says "Welcome, it seems like you're not subscribed." And usually there is a blue call to action button to subscribe but its not appearing. Only "log out" seems to be there.

    2. When you use windscribe vpn to go to turkey, everything seems fine until you go to pay and it says "error 83" or some error about not being in the same country.

    Can someone please enlighten us?

  • @Scrooge McDeal This deal worked great for me, thank you. I've noticed that Turgame have 300 to 1000 lira apple gift cards. Can you use those instead of buying 13 x 50 gift cards? Has anyone tried this?

      I think the instructions were based on the larger values not being available at the time.

    OP Can you please verify if this deal still works? I'm on Android, and got up to the step where I could actually see the Disney Plus price in Turkish on my app. The next two options I had were to sign up or log in.

    After logging into my expired Disney Plus account with no success, I attempted to register another account with Disney Plus. Both times, it did not allow me to choose a plan. Instead, it said "Welcome, it seems like you're not subscribed", and underneath it "Please subscribe to Disney+ to start streaming", without giving me any options to actually choose a plan to subscribe too. The only option I had was on the top right hand corner of the page, which was to "Log Out" but it did not give me an option to select a plan at all?

    In essence, I could not access the following steps at all.
    Part 3 - Subscribing to Disney Plus
    Select the plan you want (monthly or yearly - see screenshot(files.ozbargain.com.au)) and complete the Google confirmation prompt (see screenshot(files.ozbargain.com.au)) to subscribe. Then you’re done!(files.ozbargain.com.au) Enjoy your subscription while Google deducts from your debit/credit card as payment each month or each year.

    Finally got around to trying this out. Was waiting for our current Aus subscription to run out. Used the iOS method and OlduBil via Wise for payment. Seems to be working on all our devices including our smart TV. Came in about $38 AUD. Thanks again.
