Hey. You're not "I Smell Pennies"!

  • +2

Maybe a silly question but can this be used with family sharing i.e I purchase with my turkish account and share it with my Aussie relative?

    • can I join your family please

    • Id like to know also

    • +1

Nope, everyone will need a Turkish Apple ID. Only iCloud can be shared with AU account

    • +1

It is possible to share if your family/friends log in to your Turkish account under Media & Purchases. Because you have a family subscription it will allow multiple streams, even under the same login.

Others are jumping to say no because you cannot natively family share to an AU account. Further to this in my experience you cannot create a cross-border family (note though others have said it is possible).

  • +1

Once subscribed can you log back in to your Australian account?

    • -5

      There's no law against it.

    • +1

you can log back in, apple music will log out though

    • You can run separate accounts for iCloud vs media/purchases.

How is this compared with Spotify and Youtube Music?

    • +14

      It's a different company.

      • +7

Thanks for responding and making yourself feel useful.

        • +7

          Glad I could help.

          • @jv: The main advantage is that Apple Music has live lyrics and you can even lower vocals, so you can Karaoke. I’m not sure if even the quality is better compared to YouTube music.

            • @fozzie: Interesting. I have been using Apple Music for years. Where do you get live lyrics and how do you lower vocals?

By live lyrics, do you just mean scrolling lyrics?

              • @Riker88: It works only on iphone and ipad. It works like a karaoke really, if you click while the song is playing then for most songs on right handside you have an option to lower the voice. It's a super cool feature for Karaoke fans.

                • +1

@fozzie: Also works on Apple TV but not sure if it's limited to certain gen. Mine is the latest 4K 3rd gen.

                  • @xers: Yes, I think you are correct.

    • +1

At least on CarPlay this is easier to use than YouTube music and a touch more songs available too I feel.. Not gonna comment on Spotify haven’t used it that much.

That said I am indeed okay with YouTube music atm since it came free with my Turkish YouTube premium…

  • +2

Great deal. But you will get all the latest Turkish hits recommended to you. Including a playlist called Hit’ler. Not even kidding.

    • +6

"ler" is the equivalent of "s" at the end of a word. Makes it plural. So "Hit’ler" is "Hits"

wow .. nothing more annoying than that.

i was about to sign-up but no thanks anymore.

  • Is there a way that iCloud storage can be paid similar?

  • its annoying for ios users, you need to logout of app store / music every time :/

    • Really? Yeah screw that would rather pay the standard price. Would be great if it was easier

    • Is that because it is all integrated?

      • on ios you can have 2 accounts signed in at same time, one for icloud, one for app store / apple music / all that stuff

you can keep main icloud logged in but if you want to download / update any apps that are linked to your main account, you have to log out and log back in every time 🙄

got too much for me, just went back to spotify 😂😂

        • +1

You don't have to change account to update apps.

You do if you want to download something that's only available on the Australian app stores though (mainly banking apps or Aussie exclusive streaming services). A non issue if you just download all those apps first at the start then switch to the Turkish account. I'm currently using the Indian one (for Apple One) and have not had to switch back at all.

          • @xers: So if I went ahead and set up a new Turkish id per this post, it would be a new music account setup and I’d lose my saved songs and playlists from my original AU id?

  • From the previous post, only 25 and 50 notes were mentioned, any reasons for this? I can see some big notes in Turgame now, like 1000, so we don’t need to enter the gift card multiple times, right? thanks.

    • They only recently added higher denominations. That’s why they weren’t mentioned in previous post.

  • How do we get a Turkish student ID/Account?

    • +1

      You need AU UNiDAYS account.

  • Long live Erdogan and his unconventional monetary policies…

    • +1

      A fine dictator indeed

  • There is no Apple TV+ in Türkiye but would you still get Australain Apple TV+ access with Turkish Apple Music Student subscription?

    • You are using TR Apple ID to buy it, so nope.

  • I setup an turkey appleid yesterday, loaded it with giftcards to buy discord nitro and it got disabled due to some terms of service violation.
    Lost $24!
Good luck if you get it to work with something else!

  • laughs in Turkish Lira

  • +1

God bless the worthless Turkish Lira

  • I buy all music through iTunes, but there’s a very small handful of tunes that are only on Apple Music.

Any ways to re-save / convert the file so it can be played elsewhere?

  • How does the Unidays thing work? Can I use that to get stident discounts elsewhere?

  • Can I use Apple Pay whilst I’m logged into Apple Music?

    • Yes you can. Make sure you only change ID in "Media and Purchases" section. Do not log out of your main Apple ID

  • Is anyone can help me the issue i have? when I do the family sharing they ask me to add a payment method otherwise my family can't use.
I still have funds in the turkey apple account

    • I believe you need to add a payment method as a fall back if your Apple credit runs out, that’s why this post gave instructions to download that Turkish banking app. Once you’ve entered the apps credit card number into the payment method, your credits will continue to be used as first method of payment.

  • "Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID"

This obviously means I will loose all my playlists and what not since I am using a new Turkish Apple ID right?

    • Correct. Your Turkish id is a new slate.

    • You can use apps like songshift to transfer playlists over.
