FYI : Gigabyte is making an revised models of their 4000 series GPU and 12vhpwr connecter is in much better position than the current models.

Here is the new 4090 windforce with an updated connector. Probably 4080's are coming soon.

    Just spreading the news. Cheers!

    • I've looked and I can't find any instances of a 4080 power connector having melting issues like 50 (according to NVidia) 4090's did, so they might limit the redesign to the 4090.

    • Damn that's a way better position. This is my first build where the cable management is really clean, the only minor mess is the connector coming out from the side of the 4080.

'Better position' is extremely debatable in this instance.

I think that'd look absolutely silly in my case plugged in there.

I'm having a moment of weakness and actually considering this… must hold out for 5070… 1080 still plays games…

      hold

1080ti owner here, I hear you, can't believe my card still plays most games at 4k at decent quality settings.

      HODL

      • +1

Former 1080ti owner here, no regrets upgrading!

    • I'm on 4k so had to cave in and get a 4080. It's absolutely amazing for 4k gaming. Witcher 3, 4k, full RT, handles it wonderfully. Probably a bit sub 60 fps sometimes, but it feels great.

I went with the TUF, and full load sits at 65deg with the fans at 50% and you can barely hear them (no clue why asus put a 4090 cooler on a 4080.

But for FHD? It's supremely overkill haha

    • Everytime you have a moment of weakness, think about chatGPT. You will get all the strength to save more money.

I was in your position, I'm sitting however on a 3060 Ti. But I've just determined that 16GB of VRAM isn't worth it right now, not at this price, it's too expensive. I'm better off waiting another generation and getting either 4090 performance and possibly more VRAM for the same price in a year and a half, or I'm better off waiting for maybe a 40 series refresh/4080 Ti which may bring higher VRAM. Right now I play mostly eSports titles, so I can HODL just fine till another generation really. The 4080 isn't that big of a GPU uplift for me, but if you're on 10 series or older, sure it's a good deal this.

      • If you’re playing esports titles mainly , 16GB will never be an issue for you for years even at 4k

        • Yep. Pretty much why I skipped this gen so far. But you know… I do play other games occasionally like Last of Us and Spiderman, so hitting a VRAM limit is annoying and I do have a 4K 120Hz display, so I've resorted to using DLSS or FSR for most games at 4K and lowering settings if need be. Going to have to wait for 50 series for me to see good gains and performance at this res.

    • I've upgraded from 1080ti to 4090, no regrets at all.

    Price going down. Keep going.

Gigabyte are absolutely useless at the game code redemption, so don't buy these cards expecting a code for normal release day!

Going on 8 days from a gigabyte product! MSI and ASUS provided codes within 24 hours :/

    • Got mine in 4 days from Gigabyte or 2 business days.

    • +1

submited on 31/5, today 5/6…. still no code.
      madness!!

Thank you for choosing GIGABYTE AORUS Product!
The process of your application for Get Diablo IV with select GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 40 Series Product already started. Please allow up to 15-20 working days for the review.

20working days ! good luck guys.

      • Same with inno3D submitted the claim on 30/5. The previous 5 claims on 23/5 were the next day though. Not sure what happened.

    • Submitted 30/5, received 02/6.

I messaged the Aorus FB Group chat midday 02/6 about it and received it 3 hours later. Not sure if my message expedited it.

      • Submitted 30/5 received 3 days later without doing anything. W

I got mine straight away…email contact support and sook and then they email you within 30 mins lol

      Got mine for 1500

      • which email address? there is not an obvious one for redemption support :/

        • FB chat reply :
We are processing them as they come, however it can take up to 15-20 working days. It hasn't taken that long so far. Keep an eye out and it should be processed soon.

          20 working days !!!!!!!!!! dude

      • I just messaged to the Aorus FB Group chat,
        hopefully, can get it tomorrow

    • I had to chase MSI with a support ticket, and was some weirdess questioning the PCCG invoice, but they were fairly responsive back and forth once i reached out. Probably need to push most of them to get a quick turn around.

    • got my MSI diablo4 code in 2 minutes via live chat, they were awesome

      • How recently did you message live chat? I tried today and they turned me around saying to wait 14 days.

          It was Tuesday last week.

    • Going on 8 days from a gigabyte product! MSI and ASUS provided codes within 24 hours :/

Lucky you. Mine took 18 days with MSI.

I opened a support ticket after 12 days and even then it still took them another 6 days to approve it.

    • I have still not received my diablo 4 code from ASUS. Appliation status still pending since over a week. Those claimed under Asus, able to advise how you do it

      • I had to wait about 2 weeks for my ASUS code to come through recently.

        • Thanks for sharing

BTW, it should be noted that the 10% applies to everything on the site, not just to this one card.

  • How does this card compared to the asus strix 4080 thats bp tech was selling?

    • I have the TUF and have no idea why you'd get the strix for anything but aesthetics. It's a factory OC card and runs full load at 65deg with fans at 50%.

This gigabyte however is very well designed and cooled, especially the memory and vrms.

  • How does Gigabyte send you your "copy" of Diablo 4? I thought the game could only be purchased through Blizzard directly?

    • +2

You fill out a form on their redeem page with details of your purchase including the GPU serial/model, etc and a copy of the invoice. They’ll respond back with a redemption code which you redeem through GeForce experience. During that redemption process, you need to log into your battle.net account - that’s where you associate the copy Diablo 4 to your account. You can basically redeem it for anyone as long as you can log into their account.

  • Argh… Would love to get this but doesn't fit in my Fractal Torrent compact….. Well it can if I remove one fan…

    • Wait, it won't fit with the big front fan? I was looking to build a new PC in the Fractal Torrent (Nano).

      • This is 341mm long. The Torrent compact max GPU length is 330mm (but a PNY 331.8mm) will fit, just. So waiting for a deal for the PNY, since it has better cooling and is quieter too.

So probably not, given the nano is smaller.

  • got mine from computer alliance last ebay plus deal for $1599 delivered. waiting for the game code

    • same here. claimed 5 days ago, still waiting for the code.

      • still waiting. was hoping to play today

  • +1

I'm only 1440p gaming so no need to upgrade my 3080 for a couple more years, seeing these prices are a good direction for when I need to upgrade.

    • Yeah they have been undershipping since covid and crypto boom #3, but the pinch is coming. They'll have to drop their prices if they want sales.
