LG 32UN880-B 31.5 Inch UltraFine Ergo 4K IPS HDR10 $699 @ Computer Alliance (+ Del @ Mwave, PCCG, Scorptec, Umart, MSY & CPL)

240

Do you do productivity stuff and need a decent 4K monitor with a good monitor arm?

For you, I have the older sister monitor to the LG 32UN88A. This is the LG 32UN880-B. My understanding is that both monitors are the same except this one has a black back.

As mentioned extensively in other deals, the LG 32UN88 series are business productivity monitors. They are not intended for gaming as the refresh rate is only 60 Hz. The main reason you would choose to purchase this monitor is because it comes with a very good monitor arm (that has built-in cable management).

    Bought it the other day

    Beautiful monitor

    • Is it really fine and clear for text?

      • +1

Yes. I bought this monitor at rrp when it was just available in Australia.
The arm is its second selling point , and major one is its display quality. However, half year later, I bought a alien 38ā€, and now Iā€™m using c2 42ā€.

        • c2 for work monitor?

          • @SS625: Yes

            • @aec: oled any screen burnt for work? usually task bar etc dont move as much. I had screen burnt on my 2009 Imac back in the days

              • @SS625: Not yet. But I have set the task bar to disappear automatically.

      • yes I used it for productivity (email, office, web, etc. and it's super clear, I only used cheap screens before so this is a big step up for me

        • Thanks, I am not going to buy it just wondering if really that big differenec with VA panel, already have Dell 32" VA panel.

          • @superforever: I can't comment on VA but this monitor has an IPS panel. Everything is easily readable if you sitting at the right distance.

@visitor123 here is the price alert for the the black version

    • Differences between 32UN880 vs 32UN88A ?

      (Excluding -B vs -W)

      • +1

I suspect the newer 32UN88A was released so that it could be sold in a different set of retailers to the 32UN880-B. This allows one model to go on sale at one group of retailers stopping customers from price matching at the other group of retailers as the model numbers are different.

If the colour is a deal breaker and you want black, I'd say that now is a good opportunity to purchase (however prices may dip with EOFY). Otherwise consider holding out for the next sale of the white version (32UN88A) as it has sold for $645 with free delivery from Amazon.

      Finally bought it haha

  • all officeworks stores out of stock

    • +1

Officeworks sells the 32UN88A, not the 32UN880-B which is this deal.

  • Is this better than the Dell we were all clamoring for

  • I'm considering a 4K work/productivity monitor as I am gaming less and less.

Is 4K really worth it for productivity?

There are so many different opinions on whether 4K is worth it, and that it should be considered from a 32" and upwards size monitor only. Would this be subjective, or can be a good rule of thumb to accept?

    • why isnt 4k good for productivity?

I had the dell 27 4k before and the pixel is way too small for me, considering a 32" 4k but do want to try bigger like 40" 4k

Is 4K really worth it for productivity?

Absolutely. So much more screen real estate. I really wished I made the jump earlier.

Not really subjective, it's actually a recommendation. Usually it's 24" for 1080p (Full HD), 27" for 1440p (2K) and 32" for 2160p (4K). Knowing this, you can avoid bad products like Full HD monitors or TVs that are larger than 24".

You should also consider the viewing distance as well. Have a look at the tables from this article, the ideal distance to sit away from your monitor.

    • Regardless, this monitor in the op is a 32ā€. It was one of few premier 4K 32ā€ monitors when it came out.
Imo, any premier monitors of 32ā€ and above should be 4k or above. This is actually the major reason I have moved from alien 38ā€ to c2 42ā€.

I will hold for the EOFY deals.
    Thank-you.

  • Wish there was a 4k monitor in a size between 32 and 42. It's a bit of a jump between the two.

    • What about two 32" monitors? You can also put this one in portrait to create a 9:16 aspect ratio if you need more vertical room.

      • put this one in portrait to create a 9:16 aspect ratio if you need more vertical room.

I have Dell 32" + Dell 24" 16:10 at portrait next to it, Dell 24" mainly for here XD

      • I have a 38 dell ultrawide, but would like a higher resolution and density.

    • I feel the same, the Acer Nitro 38.5in seems like the perfect size in 16:9, not too large and a step up from the 32" panels, but no 4k… shame no one else makes a more spec'd version of this monitor with 4k and usb-c connectivity/charging
