    Does it have snake?

    • +24

Well yes, it has Snake, Tetris, BlackJack, Arrow Master, Air Strike, NinjaUp); Jocuri Origin Data (Racing Attack – Multiplayer, DOODLE JUMP, CROSSY ROAD, English with Oxford)

      • +19

Better than most micro-transaction infested modern mobile games.

        • +5

          Better love story than Twilight.

        • It’s ruined mobile gaming for me apart from the odd Apple Arcade title now and then it’s a lost cause

          • @Commodore64: Exactly, and back in our days a mere 3 minutes loading from the trusty c2n datasette and you were playing the full game!

    • +5

      Hsss Hsss this is snek.

  • +1

Even kids want a smart phone nowadays I guess.

    • +19

Give them enough entitlement and they’d want the latest model every year.

  • +1

This reminds me of my very first mobile phone Nokia 5700, great phone

    • +8

Mine was 3210, then 8210. I remember having a little blue backlight mod (instead of the typical green) and it was sooo cool.

      • +5

8250 butterfly came default with blue backlight

        • +2

          That was quite an evolution.

    • +16

I'd imagine you drop any earpods and they would go down in the rabbit hole. But they seem to be in fashion.

        • +24

Did a Nokia hurt you as a child?

          You seem resentful.

            • +7

@0jay: "hegemony of capitalist consumer culture"

              Keep going, I'm almost there…

              • -1

@Daabido: where? where you at daddy?

            • @0jay: How about this. I've "intuited" that you prefer to make up nonsensical words instead of use actual words with meanings.

              • -2

@odysseus: That’s quite aggressive. And pretty stupid.

But regardless – so what if I do like to make up words?

What’s it got to do wi you?

          • +1

@andresampras: He was using it in bed, above his head..

The rest is history, his face a mystery..

Not all kids are careless with their things. Sounds like a pretty shitty kid to be honest.

          • -3

            @greatlamp:

Sounds like a pretty shitty kid to be honest

I have zero clue what you’re talking about but that is a very unkind thing to say about a child who doesn’t exist

    • If you drop them while the case is open, sure.
They're very secure while closed. Great phone this, used it a fair bit.

    • In comparison, one drop of an iPhone on a hard service and you might as well buy a whole new phone given the cost to repair.

      • Again, if you drop any smart phone without case, they will most like break. Luckily, it only cost $100 to replace the screen.

        • +1

That's why you buy a flip case. No phone I've ever had has been broken using one.

    Land full within months

    • +4

For us yes, not for oldies

    • +7

For those who've come across the seas, we've boundless plains to share.

    • +1

      No, we've got plenty.

    • +2

Think of it as carbon sequestration

    • +5

      Land full within months

Is that the newer, more tactful version of the "F_ck off we're full" slogan that used to be everywhere a decade ago?

    • -1

      Land full now..?

1.2% average available rent across Australia with the federal government announcing plans weeks ago to bring in something like 1.5mil migrants over the next 2 years.. 🤣 Building companies collapsing, don't worry about within month, LAND FULL NAO!

  • +2

Looks cool and a great idea… but unfortunately a few too many years late to be useful for me :(

  • +1

I missed FM radio in Samsung phones :(

    • -2

You mean antenna? As you can get FM via apps

      • +6

Not the live fm radio. Those radio apps are just pre-recorded radio?

      • +2

Its always about 10 seconds delayed so no good for live sports. Plus the apps use data.

      • +5

Ya but I don't want to eat up the data when it I can get it off the antanna?
Even betta if it's has dab+

  • Buy for nostalgia

  • Good gift for kids..

  • Is the sound quality good as had to return a few Nokia phones due to sound quality being bad.

  • Lenovo tw ear pods are a couple of bucks delivered from ali. In theory you should not run out of spares.

  • Fm radio!

  • +3

No kid wants this…I'm struggling to find a use case besides for workers that needs to replace a desk phone with a mobile and CB radios out of range etc.

    • +3

My kid would. I don't want them to have a smart phone yet. It's bad enough they're on their ipad all the time.
But if I need a way to contact them or vice versa in case emergency, this phone will do fine.

      • Your kid is going to hate you. Don't do it.

        • +9

Actually she’d tell me not to buy it for it is waste of money. Not every kid is spoiled.

      • Maybe I'm missing something, but if the kid is on the iPad all the time already, what's the difference with having a smartphone then? Aside from it being cheaper to purchase and easier for you to contact them on.

        • +4

When they’re at home, they get to play their ipad and I’m managing their time (admittedly struggling). I don’t want them to also on their smart phone in the car, when we outside spending quality time. In time though, they will have their smart phone. But not too early.

          • @itstuan: Watch how quickly they get fed up when you cut their internet connection to the ipad. These devices are electronic paperweights without connectivity.

            • -4

              @Oofy Doofy: That’s weird.

I can do all kinds of things on my ipad without a data connection

            • @Oofy Doofy: Not at all paperweight, there are many great games that good for the brain development. It's harder to control what they play/watch when there's internet is all. Even youtube kids is not safe. A lot of bad stuff dressing as children programs but in fact teach them sex, violent, suicidal etc…

      • +3

Obviously some of the people either don't have kids or lacks the ability to manage their kid's access to iPad/iPhone/TV/Video games.

My kid got an even lower end nokia phone purely for the purpose of receiving calls when necessary and that's not an issue. My kid still loves me after 6 months of it.

Of course, when I'm talking about kids, I'm talking about kids < 10 yr old. Teenagers would be a different story.

    Burner phone for drug dealers?

      Bunsen Burner, nice little earner.

        Hence the…

    • Burner phone for spam SMS's, signups for freebies harvesting your info etc.. (pair w. the $10 365 day prepaid).

  • +10

Holy shit it's running symbian. 2005 me wants this phone.

    • It's the shitty modern S30+ revamp, can't do a tonne of the good stuff we did in the day.

      • +1

Ah crap, was hoping it would be on that other OS they used eith the banana phone

    • This is the thing. If your looking for a phone for a person who struggles with touch screens, you end up getting pushed into an obsolete mobile os.

But I found something recently at Aldi. It's a flip phone with large buttons, basic interface and it runs android 8 or something. It's pretty locked down, but with a little poking around im sure other apps could be installed, like gps tracking. It's the Opel smartflip for anyone curious

  • +2

Review by DankPods if you need a better opinion on it. IMO Okay phone. Crappy bluetooth earphones that don't have a mic so you can't call your nan with it.

    • What the? Must be the first phone ever sold with earphones without a Mic ever if that's the case

      • Back in 2006, the masses weren't really walking around talking into Bluetooth headsets

        • yeah but the wired headsets all had mics, since time immemorial

  • i use a motorola v3xx sometimes

  • +2

    I want it just coz

    • Yeah but you'll have buyers remorse after playing with it for 10 min.

  • Im hyping up this deal too cause Nokia

    • The original Nokia is dead though, these won't have the same quality.

  • +11

My main phone is actually a feature phone. It's extremely liberating.

I have multiple smartphones for different purposes, but when I go out I only have a feature phone in my pocket, and a smartphone turned off in my bag in case I really need it (e.g. for QR code reading).

I am very much a smartphone addict. I was already aware of that (hence my choice to move to a feature phone), but I didn't realise how bad it was until I was pulling out my feature phone every few minutes to check for notifications that obviously weren't going to be there. With a smart phone, there was always some sort of spammy notification I could swipe away for a tiny dopamine hit, or some app I could refresh the stream of.

I bought a Cat B40 because it's USB-C. I saw this phone, but it's Micro-USB and I just know I'm going to lose one of those earbuds.

    • Yeah seems like a good option if you're in a situation where you actively don't want the notifications. Good for getting focussed.

    • Good ok you. We get too distracted with smart phones these days.

    • Earbuds be gone! I have lost three pairs of various buds so far.

  • Working through the classics, we must be due an N95 remake at some point. If they stick with synbian at least get music streaming on it even if that's all it does over the old phones.

    • Was thinking face masks with you said N95.

  • I'd get it if it had wireless tethering.

    • look for a nokia 8110 4g.

      • Thanks mate! But it seems like i can't buy it anywhere…

  • Complain that it lists headphone jack when it actually doesn't and you might be able to get a refund.

  • +5

Headphones are decent and very cool.

    Everything else is shit.

Buttons do a double type more times than I'd like, if you have more than a couple hundred videos on there they WILL lag behind the audio by about 1.5 seconds, you can't load up any JAVA games beyond the included ones, naturally there's no hotspotting either but you don't really expect it as much (the 8110 managed to do it though, so) … basically it's a shit phone, like anyone in the know will say, the current S30+ is (profanity) terrible, I wish they'd just re-release the original S30 on newer phones. Being able to load up any old game and type properly would be a godsend, the 3310 reboot was the last one I know of that actually ran JAVA games and it was great for it.

    • Thanks, almost pulled a pin

    • +1

It does what it is advertised to do. Just don’t try to turn it into something else and I think it’ll do just fine. Honestly if you’d like to download couple hundreds videos or games onto this phone. You better off buying a smart phone.

      • +1

It doesn't do all the stuff the old phones do, which is what this phone is largely aiming to make you think it does. It can't play user installed JAVA games, it can't keep up with anyone who was ever actually quick at typing on the old phone style and double types OFTEN, and so on.

I have the first 15 seasons of Simpsons (now more, but I've had 15 for as many years) on an old MicroSD from like 2009 in high school on my old Nokia. They worked fine there. This piece of shit can't handle it. I shove it in one of my clone Game Boy emulator consoles, plays fine. 30$ imported shit does it better, and funnily enough, even plays JAVA, I loaded up Guitar Hero 5 on it the other week and clocked the thing.

This phone is shit for anyone who wants to use it more than a week of novelty. Of their reboots, 3310 was godteir, 8110 was alright for KaiOS anyway. Rest can (profanity) off unless dirt cheap.

  • What a nugget

  • Whoa its back!

I still have my gsm Nokia XpressAudio

  • If only this came out in 2006 you'd be balling……

  • Does it have WhatsApp? Or can it be downloaded

    • I dont believe so since it is a "Symbian" Phone, modern feature phones need KaiOS to support modern day browsing such as WhatsApp and GMaps. Keep in mind the trade off is that the battery life will be shorter than a traditional Symbian feature phone

      • Typing will be a pain for WhatsApp, now that we are accustomed to a qwerty on our phones.

I would get this if it had Spotify.

  • can I have N95 INSTEAD of this ?

    • I have a near mint condition one you can barter from me. 🤣

  • +1

Can someone recommend a similar phone that has WhatsApp?

  • Schoolkid me wants this..

Too bad this post is 20 years too late..

    • It’s Nokia mate, never too late :)
