  • Thank you, I subscribed to Vancouver flights here a few days ago, just a shame early January flights aren't included. Or, I don't know, discounting all their overpriced international flights would be nice. Would you mind adding Vancouver and Canada tags to your deal, please?

        Perfect, thanks again for posting

      • Out of curiosity, where did you source this code from? Couldn't find a list of them.

        • Email to the op I reckon

Even with $200 off, a flight from Sydney to Vancouver is still 2.5k+….I rather book with Air Canada for a cheaper price. An example, a flight from the 1st of Nov to the 18th of Nov is 2.8k for Qantas (before $200 off) and it is 2.3k with Air Canada.

    • Even Air Canada prices are horrible. $3.5k return next January. Yuck. Trying to get some friends over there, we already have flights booked via Hawaii on Jetstar and WestJet. It's the only way to get there cheaply. Next up the price ladder is Fiji Airways which is quite good too.

The only "cheap" Qantas options are itineraries with 2 stops, hahaha no thanks QF.

    • True AC would likely be better in almost all cases unless you are a OneWorld loyalist i.e. QF Platinum.

      • Thats me! (Although I am also Air Canada 50K through the HSBC *A card)

    • Air Canada operates 7 flights a week. Excluding the flights to Brisbane. If a Qantas aircraft has an issue, you might be stuffed on a plane via Los Angeles

      • I remember when MEL/SYD/BNE-YVR was highly competitive.

Air Canada ran 2 daily services on a 777-200LR and 787-9 into Sydney, a 787-9 into Brisbane and a 787-9 into Melbourne.

        • They are running 2 LRs during their winter. What were the return prices back then? Wish things would normalise. international airfares are bloody insane.

      • Actually having the flight schedule spaced out could prove beneficial in that scenario. Might give them time to run a plane to Vancouver the next day without scrounging for a spare aircraft.

    • And that folks is what happens when you have some of the most expensive housing in the world

        A number of factors:
Lax attitude on crime/drug use by officials and locals.
High cost of living. Going out in Van is the definition of getting fleeced.
Lack on investment in housing and infrastructure or breakdown of it thereof.
        Wealth/power gap. Slave wages.
The whole place is sketchy because no laws exist.
Try dealing with ICBC. I dare you.

It's inevitable with the widening wealth & access to facilities gap.
We're experiencing late stage capitalism that's been accelerated by covid.

  • Appears it might not work on some dates in Feb. I'm trying to use the promo code for Feb 2024, and receive the error not valid for journey. As soon as I switch it to late Jan, the promo code works fine.

Edit: After playing around with the dates in Feb I was able to find some dates that work but the first week of Feb seems to be off-limits.
