Shouldn't click and collect be free anyway? How much is it normally?

    • +8

Pretty sure it's normally $5. They want to lure you into the maze so you end up with some throw pillows, a blanket, and some meatballs to go with the chopping board you went for (that was out of stock).

Is that all the extra crap you walked out with? Do you even IKEA?

        • If you dont come out with at least a trolley or two of stuff. Im with moabboy. Do you even IKEA?

    • +13

It should be free and charging for it like Ikea does must be discouraged.
Neg vote for Ikea's practices, not OP.

Why would u pay to click and collect… IKEA is basically 1 big warehouse..

  • +13

Paying for delivery is understandable, but paying for picking something up yourself is laughable.

Love OP for sharing the deal. Hate the normal $5 fee.
The part I like about it is that at least the staff will have to go searching for out of stocks.

Also, today I learned that the store name is pronounced 'Eye-kee-yah'. I always thought each letter was pronounced separately like IGA.

    • +3

So you've been saying Eye-Kay-Eee-Ahh. Sounds the same just slower.
I'd pay $5 for someone to walk around the maze for me if I only needed a specific item.

You can just walk into the self-server area directly, rather than the main entry.

      • No, I have been saying it as I K E A… each letter spelt out separately, like when you say IGA Supermarket…

        • +4

Surely you're joking? You've never heard anyone else in Australia or the internet say IKEA? That doesnt sound right.

          • @Trishool: I thought the A was pronounced more like 'Ahhh' to be fair… So it was more like 'I K E —Ahhh' when I think about it. So I thought people were just shortening it as slang.

  • Is this a 'June Fools' joke?

Well IKEA is having a laugh charging click and collect fees.
