for me 95% is for office works excel doc outlook so im happy with just office mode

          • @CyberMurning: Yep… that's the one I use second most. If I'm doing a lot of evening work, office is much easier on the eyes (less glary).
But where I use it during the day, I need a little more brightness.

        • What are the differences running HDMI vs DP if I may ask

          • @AlienC: I couldn't get 4k @ 60Hz running through HDMI (only 4k @30Hz), but could get 60Hz via DP. Don't know if it was cables, settings, video card, but I got a good performance boost by going DP. HDMI has evolved over time, with better standards coming out. There was a time that DP was superior to HDMI though. Regardless, I'm getting max performance out of this monitor now.

          • @AlienC:

What are the differences running HDMI vs DP if I may ask

With this monitor, there's no difference as long as your HDMI and DP cables are the right spec and you've turned on the right modes on the monitor.

Some computers, e.g. the popular Optiplex Micros, only have DP so you'd use the DP port in that case.

            • @eug: Which mode should I use for a backup monitor but also potential gaming.

Any idea what the monitor might come with out of the box?

              • @AlienC: DisplayPort should be set to 1.2 and HDMI to 2.0 for all uses. By default DP is set to 1.1 and HDMI is set to 1.4.

    • does the fact it has only 60hz affect the game differently? plan to use it for ps5 and wonder how the refresh rate will look like in this monitor

      • +1

I have my Xbox X connected into its second input, and plays just fine. Looks better on this screen than my TV!

      • +2

High refresh rate 4K screens are still expensive. For $174 you won't find a better gaming monitor. Most PS5 games are only targeting 60fps anyway.

        • +2

          agreed.

People are saying not IPS, not high enough refresh, etc etc… but not mentioning you're getting a decent 4k 60Hz 32" screen for under $200!

    • Agree! I love mine too and now use it for everything over my gaming ultrawide.

  • 32inch 4k is great for the office. I got 2 in my office…

    • +1

My boss won't let me get more than 27" 1080P, considering getting two f these and funding it myself. Only thing I'm worried about is the bigger screen will make it easier for people to see I'm on OzBargain all day :)

    • are you using the 2 as dual display while working? thoughts on usability? too wide? or or maybe 1 monitor is vertical and the other is horizontal? thanks

  • Got one. Thanks OP.
How long does it take to get delivered to Melbourne?

    • +2

They are pretty good with delivery, within the week I reckon. Mine took about that long to get to ACT. The weird packaging is a turn off (doesn't come in original box, just whatever they have- but still well packed), and from accounts here sometimes it comes with HDMI cable and sometimes it doesn't (mine did), but the monitor itself is golden. No marks/scratches at all. Works perfect.

  • Such a great deal

  • +3

    I'll wait for $155

  • -4

only max 30hz when 4k resolution

    • +1

Pretty certain that isn't the case.

      • so i dropped to 2k.

        • +2

2k doesn't scale well on a 4k display. I would put some time in to working out what is wrong.

    • You need a new cable/hub/graphics card.

      • +1

ok, my 1060 6gb still works well, XD

        • There is something along the way thats preventing the 60hz. You need to figure it out.

          • +1

@dyziplen: There's something in the input settings to change the HDMI/ Display Port input from Y to X or something like that. That's your issue.

    • wrong….

    • Sounds like a cable bandwidth issue or a limitation on your laptop or dock.

    • Try DisplayPort if using HDMI

    • +7

only max 30hz when 4k resolution

It supports 4K 60Hz. It's pretty dumb but you have to go into the OSD under Setup and change DisplayPort to 1.2 and HDMI to 2.0. Not sure why Philips didn't just ship the monitor with it enabled.

    • +4

Go to setup in the monitor's settings (press the OK button and then down arrow button until you get to below the "color" setting and you will find the settings menu item)

Then check and make sure display port is set to 1.2 and HDMI is set to 2.0 , by default they will default to 30hz modes out of the box and seems like not many have been adjusted.

If you are still not getting 60hz after doing this then its either your cable or your actual PC cannot output 60hz at 4K (some can't)

      • thanks for your reply, it works, amazing!

    • 30hz @ 4k?

      Wrong.
I'm right now looking at my res… 60hz @4k through display port.

    • I had this, its the cable you are using.

  • Does this thing do picture in picture or side by side?

    • search for my answer somewhere here up there

  • thanks op, I purchased 1, now I just need a bigger desk as I already have 2x 32". My existing ones arent 4k

    • +2

IKEA can help you, OP cannot

      • +4

Buy more monitors and make a desk out of them.

  • -6

Can two of these easily fit on a desk?

    • +4

      come on….

      • without going blind in 5 years*

    • +7

Can two of these easily fit on a desk?

Yes, but only if you desk is at least as long as a piece of string.

      • -3

on a normal size desk *

        • -2

well, my normal is not your normal…

          thats what she said…

    • +1

Yes they both can, but you’ll need a good sized and sturdy desk like one of these.

    • +1

point me to an IPS with plus 60Hz for $175 please.

  • Can someone comment on PD capability? It says fast charging but how much power (W)? Can it charge a laptop?

    • +2

It has a single USB 3 type A socket that will power the likes of headphones etc.
It does not have the capability to power a laptop via PD.

  • I get $184 after GST, delivered. Is this right?

    • +3

      I think you added a cable….

      • Ah yes..indeed

    • Did you select the free shipping option? Should be $174 delivered including GST.

    • +1

Yes I also got $184 with hdmi cable

  • The system accepted the code but it is still showing full price?

    • Nevermind. Updated price is shown when you put in shipping/payment information

  • Anyone happily using this for photo editing… because you can't afford an Eizo?

  • Welp, bought 2. FIgure it's better than I have now, will be a higher PPI, still be valid for gaming.

  • anybody got 2 of these for home office (WFH) setup? feedback?

  • +1

Hi OP could you also do this sale on ebay like previously you guys did? Have been holding on ebay GCs but then find out this time is a private site😂

  • +2

OMGPHILIP is what my wife shouts in the bedroom sometimes which is weird because my name is Steuart

    • I am sorry to hear that.

    • someone is calling me?

  • Anyone know if / and how much the screen can move down on the stand? I need a very low monitor.

    • +1

      https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/328P6VJEB_75/brilliance-4k-lc…

      Height adjustment 180 mm

Looks like that is a yes, judging by the photo - it will be adjustable in height where you can see the bulky part of the stand.

    • +2

Quite low. Minimum is about 4cm from desktop to the bottom of the bezel, the bottom of the LCD panel itself starts at 6.5cm from desktop. Total height of the monitor and stand at minimum extension is about 475mm. At maximum extension it is about 855mm from desktop to top of monitor.

      • Thanks mate, sadly it wont fit in my stupid computer Desk. Only the Dells and the Dell Ultrawides seem to fit as they go very low.

        • +1

Quite a few electric saw deals on OZB :)

          • +1

@Dupes are Fine: haha, technically it was screwed on, the shelving. / extra stuff on top But then again i do have like 8 synologys on the shelves and on top plus some swan speakers. Just annoying how small the monitor section is, They should have made it much higher than what it is, i like the extra shelving etc on top but could have been put higher.

  • How is the colour reproduction on this? I do a bit of photography, not a professional or anything like that so doesn't have to be perfect.

  • Does anyone use these on a smallish home office desk? I'm worried it will be comically large.

    • +1

I have another larger monitor for kids table (one of those Ikea study ones ones… tiny).

When you first get it, it looks weird/big walking past.
But about a week later you get used to it, and it becomes the new normal/no way I'd go back to smaller.
Just like when you get a big screen tv. You're like "damn…. did I buy too big?", but no… soon after you realise its perfect. It's just what you're used to. 14" monitors used to be plenty. Then 15", then 20"…. and that's big CRT monsters that weighed 20kg. Then flat panels came out and it was 24", then 27". Now it's 32" and I'd never go back to 27".

The only thing I'd consider is the stand. It's been a long time since I've used the standard stand on a monitor. I use monitor arms as it allows for better adjustment and more foot print in front of the monitor. I've got a 32" on the kids table, but it's using an arm to still give enough space at the front, and distance to your head. I've just measured my 32" to my eyes, and I wouldn't want a seating position any closer than 65cm (screen face to tip of nose). My reclined comfortable position is 75cm. if the desk is quite narrow, I'd consider either a wall mount or arm to let you take it right back as far as possible.

      • Thanks for the response. I agree it could just take some getting used to. It's a reasonably deep desk so I'll give it a try. Purchased!

  • +2

I don't want to be negative, just a thought. This model (Philips 328P6V) came out in Australian market in 2016. For example, in an office setting if someone has used a monitor like this 8-hour a day x 5 days a week (40 hours a week), in 5 years’ time it was used around 10,000 hours. I am just curious how much service one can expect from such used monitor? Sorry, my question should not deter anybody buying it though.

I am also interested to know who pays the shipping cost for the change of mind return as stated.

    • in previous posts seems purchaser bears the cost. Which some have said just means assume you're keeping it.

    • I wouldn't be too worried about the service, most monitors get chucked before an issue appears. On the second point, you pay the shipping of course, it's a change of mind, meaning the buyer is changing their mind

    • +1

This model (Philips 328P6V) came out in Australian market in 2016.

FWIW I bought two; one was made in August 2018 and the other July 2019. They both look bright and even and sharp, no signs of aging.

    • Thats the risk you take mate with second hand sight unseen. Although in all of these threads for this particular monitor deal, I've never read of anyone getting a monitor anywhere near that old.

  • +1

This can be fixed to a monitor arm right?
Just did a revision on IPS vs VA, so if watching movies, VA is actually better because it has greater contrast ratio?

    • +2

Yep… vesa mount. Nearly all monitors have a universal 4 screw pattern on the back.

Yep, VA is far better for contrast, no comparison…. much deeper blacks. You lose viewing angle, but I've never understood this argument with monitors because when are you ever watching a monitor from the side? IPS is favoured for productivity, but you'll of course pay much more than $175 for a 32" IPS panel.

      Good comparison here https://www.tomshardware.com/features/ips-vs-va-panels-for-g…

If you care more about response times, viewing angles, and refresh rates, IPS is king… especially if you have a monster video card.
But contrast performance to me is more important than any of those, because its much more noticeable. Deep colours, especially at night (IPS glows and blows out the image… and then when you try and turn it down you lose detail), is a huge deterrent. For general use I still reckon VA is the way to go. It does everything well…. especially with a mid range card that hasn't cost you thousands of dollars. If you've got that much budget for a GPU, why in the world would you even click on a link showing a $175 monitor anyway:).

  • +1

Any recommendations for single arm monitor stand?

  • I am type on one at the moment, 32 inch 4k, you are not gaining any more screen estate than a 27inch 4k. Just physically larger letter. Not bad for the price. I do not game, very light use of computer. maybe 32inch 8k makes more sense or whatever way i can gain more screen estate like having more column of excel displayed will help. Well, it will not be $170+ then.

  • I don't get it. Usually these sell out in less than an hour, but these seem to still be available. Did they get the unlimited monitors cheat code?

    • This is the 5th or so time the deal has repeated. Perhaps everyone who wants one has one by this point?

    • +6

This time around we have 1600, they are just about all sold out though.

      • Wow, what sort of business did they came from? Are all the previous ones from the same business too?

  • It says $225 now?

    • +1

Look at the top of the page. You need to enter the code.

  • These any good for cad work (architectural)? I feel the cursor and objects will be too small at 4k?
Currently using two 24"…. wonder how a 32" will fit in.. do you guys prefer just one big screen? or one large and one small (vertical) for emails/word/excel etc.
Also, does anyone have these on NB F80 monitor arms? Stable?

  • Is there even anything larger than this that is 4k and cheap that is not a TV?

I think this is the best monitor yet in this size and resolution range. Don't need above 60hz for now.

  • Best move I’ve made with a monitor was going 4K with a 27 inch screen, this would be even better if I had room on my desk. Great deal - grab one it could be the best upgrade to your desk

  • +1

Thanks, didn't need these. got two!

  • I can't determine which model this is,.
    Something that doesn't line up…

328P6VUBREB - Specifications page has this model listed
    - But shows there's VGA as an input

The 328P6VUBREB on the Philips website
    https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/328P6VUBREB_75/brilliance-lcd…
    - Has no VGA input
    - Various other differences to the spec sheet shown in the ACT website

    Anybody know?
