white Mac version for $105 here, or $85 with student bean coupons or $95 with SAVEBF :)

    • Yeah that’s so good it comes up as $85 with my students beans code. I just ordered the m4pro MacBook so it may be a good choice.

    • Great deal too, but just be aware the Mac version doesn’t come with a dongle so you have to use the built in Bluetooth, and reading reviews it isn’t as smooth :)

    • Warning on the white one - it gets filthy! The white gets stained by hand sweat, you can google for some pics. Great mouse though

and this is a deal how?
    its over 95 bucks

    $99 with saveBF code

    • Jaycar's $84.5 was a bargain

    • It is for them

    • @wiadro Your link had one in stock (now sold), cost more than this deal after discount/vouchers, and was also over $95?

And that was a deal how?

  • +3

You can get the keyboard and mouse combo for $239

    • thanks I was looking for this over a while, will get it through OW though through one pass

  • This over a g502x?

    • I've got both. the MX master i use for work, it has a side scroll wheel and is able to connect to 3 devices at once. It's also bigger and not as agile as the g502x (i know that sounds stupid because everyone thinks the g502x is too heavy). I use the g502x for my home pc, gaming and general use.

They are both great but overall I don't think they are comparable for the same use case.

      • Thanks. Might keep looking at stuff other than the g502 as well then.

Is spending $100 for a mouse worth it? I spend almost 10 hours a day on computer so definitely after if it increases productivity and adds comfort. Currently using a cheap Dell mouse provided by my work so basically for free.

    • +3

Yes it is absolutely worth it. If you use spreadsheets the side scroll is absolutely beautiful too

    • my manager never stop complimenting my mouse whenever he used it

    • I’ve been using an M275 Logitech from work for free and also thought spending $100 wouldn’t be worth it until I noticed a few colleagues with this model. I was sold on the sideways scrolling for spreadsheets and the customisable side buttons.

    • +1

100%worth it, on top you can claim as work related deduction, 30-40% tax back next year when you do your tax return

      • Thanks heaps but will be able to claim since my work provides me with a mouse?

        • I’m sure ATO won’t be interested in if a mouse is provided by your work

        • Depends what you mean by this.

          • work already provides you with a mouse and you're gonna buy the MX Master 3s on top of that? Yes you can still claim it on tax, the government can't tell you how many you need for work and any excuse is fine eg; I didn't like the mouse my work provided

          • Work is buying the MX Master 3s for you? You could offer the business cash with a 30% discount as they will be claiming the mouse on tax. Not 100% ethical but basically impossible to trace unless someones doing it with 100s of items.

    • +1

Absolutely worth it for everything except gaming.

Though the rubber dome wears off really bad after 1-2 years of use, and there's no replacement shell readily available (you often find them at $50-80 a piece, which is practically the amount you pay for the mouse anyway). So you're likely looking at a cost of $100 every one or two years depends on how corrosive your hand-juice is.

  • +1

Is there any big difference compared to the Master 3? I use it both on Mac and Windows.

    • +1

Silent button clicks, new bolt received instead of unify. There may be some other stuff too.

      • +2

        Is the bolt better?

        • It claims a bit more secure. But it also means you'll need to upgrade your entire setup to Bolt unless you plug in different dongles. Bolt is not compatible with Unify and vice versa.

  • I will hold off for the Master 4!

    • Me too, but mine's rubber surface is really bad now, and I'm not sure if it will survive to the refresh.

It's always been like that - Master 2 to 2s then 3 and 3s. Just happened to be a new model out whenever the mouse weared off, too.

  • Are these large? I tried 3-4 of their $150-$300 G series mice 2-3 years back and still ended up with another minoix naos for home (first two suddenly died 2-3yrs each). My current naos has peeling rubber coating and is approaching sudden death territory…

Logitechs had smooth gliding mouse wheels which I loved, but a touch too small overall.

  • $101.65 for OfficeWorks price beat

  • There is one thing I really dislike about this mouse and that's the scroll wheel. Scrolling just doesn't perform as well as their previous mice, because it uses a different mechanism (mechanical previously, magnetic now). Both ratchet scrolling and free scrolling (which I normally love) are poorly implemented and I can never anticipate at what point the scrolling will stop. Sometimes a single scroll up or down will skip multiple scrolls. Various other complaints about the scroll online on Reddit etc. I've gone back to my dual-wielding combo of Logitech Lift and MX518 (+10 dexterity, -15 RSI).

    • I have the regular 3 (clicky version) and have never experienced issues with both modes of scrolling? Do you have a dud one? Warranty?

    • I had the same problem until i found out logitech has SmartShift enabled by default on the mouse. Which means it tries to predict your scrolling and switches modes accordingly. Disabling it made my life so much better.

      • Thank you!! I found this setting in Logi Options+ and managed to disable. Will see how it goes!

  • I got this a week ago and it's a great mouse.

However, does anyone else think the side buttons are too close to the thumb?
Maybe, I have soft thumbs but I hate how the buttons slightly rubs on my thumb when I grip it.

The model before had ample space between the thumb and the buttons.

    • +1

Yep I also think the thumb buttons are not well placed. But I got used to it.

      • As an OCD person, this is the answer I needed to here. I'll probably get used to it after a few months. Thanks stranger :)

        • You're very welcome. Something else I noticed for myself is that Logitech's flatter (less tall) mice seem to suit my hand better. Not that my hand is particularly small (it is able to cope with the MX Master 3S just fine) but it's more that the flatter mice are more comfortable. Examples are the old school GOAT the MX518 and even the M280 series which I scored off OzB deal back in the day for $8 (and I bought 3 and distributed among family LOL, still going strong). It's so hard to get a sense of this briefly in the store.
