Pron or toy sites, doesn’t appear on your main card. Or so a friend tells me.
@WookieMonster Can these be hacked?
Absolutely
Have you tried hacking them😬
Haha i have better things to do with my time.
For example, posting on OzBargain is a better use of my time.
@WookieMonster: You avoided the question completely.
yes, but you can call the hotline and lock the cards.
then call the hotline to unlock it before you use it.
The only problem is, it takes long for someone to pickup you call. The only problem is, it takes long for someone to pickup you call.
And you cannot call them outside business hours
and they are located in the Philippines…
You used to be able to do this bu the last 2 times I tried they refused. Others have also reported this.
Really?
When was that?
It was Jan 2023 when I last locked them
yes, but you can call the hotline and lock the cards.
I have gone through three different agents for the last Coles deal this year.
They have refused to do this anymore.YMMV.
That sucks, have to use them asap then
So we can buy a maximum of 10 X $250 and till get 10% off?
Or 10% off one card only?
Hope their server can handle the traffic? Auspost ran a similar online store gift card promo 15% off Ultimate gift cards.

By 8am the site started lagging and by crashed at 8.01. Would come back on for a few minutes then crash throughout the monrning. A few lucky people managed to score. I tried for about 20min and gave up lol. Felt bad for the WA guys who woke up at 5am and got nothing.
I just tried to load the payment portal tonight and it didn’t work, doesn’t inspire confidence that it’ll handle the traffic better at 9am when all hell breaks loose
Probably an old question: how does the issuer or mastercard make money out of desls like this?
Normally the card transaction charges are around 1.5-2.5% only.Guess what, lots of Australians just lost their gift cards,
or forget to use it before expiry,
and this is the exact reason why governments put the "minimum 3 years before expiry" into law.
The gift card saving game is not for everyone, but only for an organized and disciplined person. Also inflation if you leave it too long, they can have a pile of money invested while you leave it there doing nothing
Yes. But this game becomes self selecting. Remember that guy on ozb who showed a stack of about 10,000 )250 gift cards? He claims he saved like 40 grand from those cards.
People who buy and forget tend to learn their lesson and don’t buy anymore. So issuer tends to still lose ojr
Not sure if true. Not everyone cares about afew dollars, I often see ppl just not wanting their change at the cafe. Usually the same ppl who runs out of money by the end of month too and comes with lots of coins.
Mastercard gets paid a licensing agreement to access their network and a fee to use their network. Normally its 30c per $100 transaction on average.
Figuring out the optimal strategy for these things sometimes gives me headaches, like tonight.
Tell me about it. I need to spend $2000 via Apple Pay to satisfy my Credit Card's cashback requirements. Problem is, Giftcards.com.au don't accept Apple Pay as a payment method.
I wonder if there is another gift card store that 1. accepts Apple Pay, and 2. sells VISA or MasterCard gift cards at face value… then I could use those to purchase these discounted ones.
I need to go to bed
If it's the citi card I don't think you need to pay by apple pay. It's poorly worded it says '…with apple pay' it just means the card has apple pay available.
It's the Citi Premier, are you sure you don't need to pay with Apple pay? In the t&c's it says you do
@CyberHippy: Ahh sorry I got confused, you can only use apple, samsung or google pay.
"To be eligible to receive $600 cashback, you must apply for the Citi Premier Card by 31 May 2023, then spend a minimum of $2,000 on eligible purchases using your new card through Apple Pay or another eligible digital wallet within 90 days from approval. Excludes Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest, fees, refunds and Chargebacks. "Another eligible digital wallet" means Samsung Pay or Google Pay."
Anyway I could use them in-store at Coles? Looking to buy IKEA gift cards this week.
No. These are digital and cannot be loaded on an ewallet.
It won’t be possible.
Just buy the ikea gc from Prezzee. I converted half of my cards to bunnings via Prezzee last time
Coles has 2000 bonus points on IKEA gc's this week
Can this digital card be used in ShopBack to buy gift cards? I was allowed to buy a max of 3 gift cards with ShopBack a week using the physical ones
Are these better than the vanilla gift cards?
They aren't as restricted as the Vanilla cards are, for example can buy gift cards via CR with these unlike the Vanilla cards, and I've had failed/refunded transactions after using the Vanilla cards online (can add both to PayPal though).
Can I add this to google or Samsung pay?
No.
Can I use prepaid Visa or MasterCard gift cards to buy these?
We should be able to. I might try this myself as I still have a few $250 cards (would just need to get around the one order per customer restriction).
So technically 5.5% discount on the $100 card?
Correct.
(100 - 105 x 0.9) / 100 x 100
Isn’t Cole’s having 2000 pts for the $100 gc this week? Works out better.
Don't even think about the $100 denomination you're losing
(100*0.9)+5/100=0.95 5.0% discount
The do not give us discount on purchase fee of $5
The do not give us discount on purchase fee of $5
It clearly shows a discount of $10.50 and the order total as $94.50
I’m gonna buy a $2,000 graphics card. Do I need to split it to 8 $250 payments? What if they don’t offer split payment at all.
Does the digital card can make payment over the phone?
I prefer to buy the physical cards in store to online as the merchant classified supermarkets in store but shopping for this online gift cards portal.
I wonder if you could add it to your method of payment/cards on your Shopback account and then use the entire $250 to purchase egift cards to which you then wouldn't have the worry of a small amount of residual left over that would be ahrd to use up…..and you get a further percentage in cashback? I've put the physical ones on my Shopback account as a new card/payment and it works great, however I've never used one of these online ones.
Does anyone know?I am curious to know too. If we can add it to Shopback payment method it would be good
YES it works, I just added it to my ShopBack payment cards and purchased a $250 super swap with it.
Dude, you should've used it for the Prezzee deal.
@wavesgreen: Well I still have 9 more $250 cards to use so I guess I'll do that wil them. Thanks
@Diana0777: Oh that's all right then.
@wavesgreen: However, I just read the terms and conditions, I can only spend $150 from one of my $250 gift cards as it's only one bonus $10 per person. So I still have heaps left of the $250's to spend on other offers.
@WookieMonster , i am after rog ally. If this possible.
Thanks
what the heck is a "purchase fee"? You are giving them your business by purchasing something from them and you get a "fee" for the privilege? LOL
Can these be used to buy Woolworths gift cards and/or prezee?
From memory, it doesn’t work, haven’t try again recently
I tried woolworths with the physical cards last time they were available in Vic and it didn't work. Not sure about prezee though.
Add it to PayPal and then u can buy straight from ww website.
Same for Prezzee.
Is the purchase fee one off for multiple cards?
For each card
Will it work with shopback? Thanks :)
It does
Thanks OP. Time to buy some more cards.
Hi, can i use 2 of these at jbhifi? would I have to buy jbhifi gift cards first?
and had anyone purchased and receieved funds yet? says up to 24 hours but the sale will end before that, this is what im wanting
1x Megaboom 3
2x Pixar 4K collections
$492.30Sale doesn't start until 9am. Last time (with physical cards) they were ready to use in less than 24 hours but I wouldn't count on it as its near certain the https://www.giftcards.com.au site will go down today.
One order per customer, so if you purchase 1 x $100 , you can’t purchase anymore. So it’s either higher purchase straight away $2500 on the spot or your stuffed if you just buy one as can’t purchase again?
Can’t you just use another email address to buy again?
Too bad it's digital
Does it mean you can't use it in store?
So the maximum per order is 10x$250 plus 1x$100 = $2,407.50
No. Based on face value so just 10x$250
Tip: These can be used instore if you know how to enter them manually in the eftpos machine
How does one know
Better not mention it so they dont block the hack
You didn't hear it from me
Only for 3 listings though, and you can't do split payment on Paypal nor ebay. So max 3 cards?
GC
Where is this promo advertised? I couldn't find it on the giftcards.com.au website and nothing from google either..
coles.com.au
cheers
I'll try buying using my leftover Vanilla visa gift card to buy, otherwise I'll skip this time
Ok
Unfortunately, can't use the vanilla visa gift card.
Counts as a credit card cash advance, or simply a purchase from a grocery store?
Yes
`^ me gauaranteed WS CRASH !
apparently still working, althoug payment taking forever
If can only be used online how to use up tiny remaining amounts if can't spend exactly $250?
Ah yes that would get good mileage eventually.
But as someone else said maybe ATO would work too - have a tax debt I'd need to be paying towards anyway.
Yeah tax debt is where majority of my cards will be going to.
Receive within 4 hours or on a day of your choice
Good way to prevent hacking till you need it?
Can buy only one :(
because u only bought one?
Got 10, thanks
@t25: I dont get it though, wouldnt it be illegal for a company to expect the customers to be liable for the company's products being hacked?
