    • +4

      That's for tiktok influencers only.

    • Shouldn't eat them after expiry, but all good before that.

  • Thats super cheap, would be keen to see some reviews

This (15-30% Sodium Carbonate, 5-15% Oxygen Based Bleaching Agents, <10% Non-ionic Surfactants, Enzymes (Subtilisin, Amylase), Polycarboxy lates, Fragrance)
or Aldi Logix dishwashing powder (30-60% Sodium Carbonate, <10% Sodium percarbonate, <1% Protease, others - non-hazardous, but undisclosed ingredients)?

This is 1.6 kgs, so $4/kg and Logix was $3.69/kg as far as I remember.

If somebody mentions the convenience of tablets - you just pour the powder off its bottle and that's a no-hassle routine.

Logix Platinum tablets, according to choice, is the second best detergent on the market, equal to or better than most of the finish stuff and only beaten (and only just beaten) by Finish Quantum Ultimate Pro Baking Soda.

Logix powder unfortunately seems to be some of the worst.

      • It is funny though, I regularly use the Woolworths Shine tablets and despite them being rated 44%, I have never had an issue where I thought a better tablet might solve it. Also in a rental with a random no-name dishwasher so I am pretty sure that it isn't making up for the crap tablets.

To each their own, but I can't see any reason to use more expensive stuff.

        • +1

At $7-8 for 40, I don't consider the aldi tablets to be "more expensive stuff"! Compared to the non-offer prices for the bewildering array of finish products anyway :)

But yeah, to each their own, whatever gets the results for you really.

          • @[Deactivated]: Oh absolutely, if I regularly shopped at Aldi I would probably buy those (though objectively speaking they are "more expensive stuff - 18 cents vs 12.8 cents). But I have a Woolworths Unlimited membership so would rather just get everything delivered by Woolworths.

Thanks for that! I usually don't bother with Choice, as I don't pay for the access.

I can see how other detergents can perform better thatn Logix powder, eg. I need to clean the built up grease and dirt off the dishwasher's filters. Too bad there's no Proudly's in that comparison. I'm expecting it to have the same issues, as there are less intense (?) ingredients in it either. I'll find out once it arrives.

    Won't add to cart .

    • It's still working here and it let me change quantity to 30 so should be plenty still available.

  • +1

Agree with you there, Powder is cheaper then tablets but when tablet on sale it same price as powder, and powder er hardly goes on sale.

    • +1

So, sounds like the powder is always the cheapest possible. Then it's a no brainer to choose the powder, price-wise at least.

      • Unless you find tablets more convenient

        • +1

Yes, you may find tablets more convenient, your kids may suffer powder-PTSD, or your domestic partner may have some beef with it.

          That's why I stressed: price-wise.

        • +4

The Aldi logix powder has a snap/clip lid and a nice handle. It easier that peeling a finish tablet out of a plastic wrapper and then putting the wrapper in the bin IMHO.

          • @scratchy: Which Finish tablet are you using? Most that I've seen are just the ones you take out of the larger box/packing and put it straight into the tablet compartment. I havent seen the one's you're referring to in yonks. Even Aldi dishwashing tablets arent like that, either are the Woolies Shine or the Coles brand ones (from memory).

            • @Trishool: I was using the base finish tablets for years sometimes with the red ball in them, sometimes not. Normally bought as a grey import via Reject shop, Discount Chemist Warehouse etc. Maybe it was only on their cheapest tablets? I've got a good Bosch washing machine so I don't need fancy tablets to get a really clean result.

        • 48 minutes, that's a feast! I'd hope it's on point at least a half of that time.

          • +1

@pizzaguy: LOL worth it.. may be start at 19mins in

    • Hi Huu, first time hearing there is dishwashing powder.. i thought it always tablet. I am wondering if all the dishwashing machine is okay to use powder one? I would give it a try if so, since it's so bargain comparing to tablet.

      • +1

Before tablets, dishwashers could only use powder. And of course modern machines still can use powder.

I've switched from tablets to powder.

I can control how much powder to use to suit the load and also use powder in the pre-wash.

      • +1

Try powder, it's often recommended and A LOT cheaper for the same result in my experience. YMMV

    • Powder generally seems not to be as good - https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/kitchen/dishwasher…

But the Aldi Logix Platinum tablets are pretty cheap and they are almost the best on the market.

      • IME if you are trying to save water or electricity using shorter cycles, powder kills tablets by a mile. The tablets only dissolve properly when you have long cycles with hottet water, the powder usually is fine. You cna also adjust how much you put in to match the setting you choose.

The person who invented tablets only did it as a way to sell perceived convenience and make more money AFAIC

        • +1

This is not my experience using tablets at all, they work fine in whichever wash, with the eco settings etc. And at 0.18 a wash I don't think Aldi are on that particular ripoff train.

        • Most things are a convenience. Just like owning a car is a convenience instead of walking or catching a train. A mobile phone is a convenience instead of having to go to a payphone and pulling out a little diary with numbers on it or having to remember them. But of all the recent dishwashing videos I've watched, every single person said that tablets were better for washing than powder.

            • @Jackson: Funnily enough this is one of the videos I did watch. As annoying as that guy is, I did get through the whole thing about a month ago.

              • @Trishool: He did 2 on dishwashers, he's definitely an oddity, but I have watched a lot of his videos and they as re quite considered, but I might be biased as he's come to many of the conclusions that I have come to

  • got some, thanks

  • I put an aldi tablet (the cheap ones) in the dispenser and a little bit of aldi powder inside the door and it works great.

    • Depending on a dishwasher, the powder inside the door may entirely go down the drain when the machine merely rinses the dishes in the first cycle. That's why there's a dispenser on the door - to prevent that.

    • If you're going to use powder, why bother to use tablets? You're probably using way too much detergent.

Forget the tablet. Just add rinse aid, tea spoon of powder in the pre rinse cycle, and another tea spoon or 2 for the main cycle.

      • I find it washes better with a tablet in the dispenser compared to powder

This pack (2*40) is for $7.99 at ebay.
Are these usually this low price? Can the quality be trusted

Package looks like berocca. That would be an interesting mishap

  • I use the other version but same brand, works as good as Finish Classic Lemon, this is the Premium version so would expect this to be better

  • I've found these tablets to clean very well, happy with the purchase. Work as well or better than the finish all in 1 tablets I was previously using.
