Edifier had a bunch of speakers discounted for most of May. Discounts were available from a number of outlets. I got these same ones through Amazon mid May at the same price but they are taking some time for delivery. Still waiting. Centrecom is faster. I ordered R1380DB through them for $99 bucks and they arrived in 4 days. Prices on Amazon for R1855DB have gone up to $209

    • Thanks for sharing. I was tossing between R1700BTS for Bluetooth 5.0 or this model for more powerful speaker, if I read the specs correctly, but Bluetooth 4.1.

I ended up ordering this model. Hope I made the right decision :P LOL

R1855DB has BT 5.0. I got this for the sub out https://edifier-online.com/au/en/speakers/r1855db
I didn't see the R1700BTS on Centrecom. Only the R1700BT. Ventchoice has the R1700BTS

        • Yea.. I was considering R1700BTS from ventchoice but I ended up order R1855DB since it's an upgrade in terms of spec (more powerful speaker?) and cheaper than R1700BTS at ventchoice.

I was wondering about BT4.1 but if it has BT5.0, even better :)

What's the key difference between the R1700BTS and the R1855DB?

Looking at the deals at the moment, it seems the R1855DB is cheaper..

          • @DevlicK: If I read the spec correctly, R1855DB has bigger (better?) speakers

    • What made you choose the R1380DB?

      • +1

It suited the use case. I could get the R1380DB in woodgrain and had all the features needed. And 99 bucks was a great price.

Bought the 1855s a few weeks ago for my PC and have been very happy with them.

    • if you have one, would you mind running them via a watt meter for me, please? love to know how many watts they draw at idle and in-use

      • Sorry mate, I don't have a watt meter :(

        • ah thanks anyway
currently testing amps i have here to see if its time to move them on and get all-in-ones, i'll do more research
sherwood amp idling at 27-30w depending on volume setting isn't ideal!

  • Edifier R1855DB vs R2750DB. Is it worth the extra $50?

    • +2

I did the same evaluation. In the end the R2750DB is a little too large for the area where I want to use these speakers. I think the R2750DB is only BT 4.1.

Excellent desktop speakers, great price. Highly recommended.

  • Anybody know how these compare to the Logitech Z407 for music?
