  • U Series processor…

    • More info pls.

U series processor are power efficient processors.
        Use less power than others.
They also tend to be much less powerful :)

        • Would a U Series Ryzen processor for $20 more be a better option, or is there no difference? - AMD Ryzen™ 7 5825U Processor (2.00 GHz up to 4.50 GHz)

@ifonlyiwasyounger: Ryzen has better multicore performance and slightly better power efficiency. Intel has better single core performance and Thunderbolt.

We have a whole lot of Ryzen ones in our work fleet and a lot of them are affected by a weird BIOS update that causes them to shut off when plugged into power. Have to run them for an hour or 2 on the battery then plug them in again to get them going. The couple of Intel ones we use haven't shown this behaviour…

These are really good except for the 45%NTSC screen……
    Would not recommend such screen

    • May I ask why you could not recommend a 45%NTSC screen?

Poor image quality because of the stunted colour range. Even something as undemanding as general web browsing and email you'll notice it, gradients look washed out and there's a lack of vibrancy.

It's more frustrating because even junk-tier Dell and HP laptops tend to ship with 72% screens for the same price. Lenovo can't seem to get their display game up to scratch.

If your budget can stretch, I'd recommend the T14 Gen 3 AMD for $1219. Reasons being…

    16:10 display
    Lighter
    Better build quality
    Newer gen AMD CPU
    Better battery life
    4k 60Hz through HDMI compared to 4k 30hz on E14
    3 year warranty
    No skimping on ports (E series still uses usb 2.0 port on the right side) - 2 x USB C 3.2, 2 x USB A 3.2, HDMI 2.0.

Only advantage the E series has is that the RAM can be upgraded.

    • Thank you zonarhd :-)

    • Solid laptops. These are my current workforce favorite. Light, well built, good screen, great performance, thermals and battery life. I don't get any complaints about these, unlike the Dell and Surface units around the place.

    • T14 Gen 3 has all soldered RAM!

    • are these still on sale? thanks
