I've watched a friend turn his office upside down looking for them- they were on his head the whole time.
They are the spectacles on the head of the 21st century!
Thanks OP grabbed the OPENMOVE for the USB C charging. My first time trying this style headphone
Do these make any difference for protecting your hearing?
no the sound stills goes to your brain via the ear drum. If you use these in a noisy environment (eg plane) and turn up the volume really high, it will be damaging.
Thanks can I ask another stupid question?
Do they work whilst wearing earplugs ?Yes they do!
Yes, my Trekz came with generic foam ear plugs you can pick up at the chemist. The manual recommends you wear them in noisy environments. Bone conduction means external noise won't interfere with the sound reaching your eardrums so you just need to block noise from entering through the ear canal.
Openmove now OOS. :(
OzBargained! Aeropex now also OOS.
Hi guys. Hope I'm not braking any rules. Have a set of these that go on sale every now and again. Bone Conduction Headphones Hiteblaz Swimming Headphones, Bluetooth Open-Ear Bone Conduction Headset for Underwater, 8G Memory MP3 Player for Swimming, Running(Black) https://amzn.asia/d/j48kNqh Pretty nice option for people who missed out and want to try bone conduction. Really impressed and these also are waterproof and have onboard memory.
I'd be keen to hear if anyone has directly compared them to the Openswim?
Yeah I looked at so many posts and vids but couldn't see anything comparing. Hardly anything on the Hiteblaz but I took a punt. Problem with openswim is they aren't bluetooth, they have internal memory only. (last time I checked) Got these because you can swap between bluetooth or memory. Great if you go to the beach or for a swim, swap over to internal with an easy press. Phone connection works well so I'm happy as. If you do find a comparison please let me know.
I have both the Openrun and Openswim. I'm on my second pair of Openswim (warranty replacement) after the left side stopped producing sound. The wires/connections are small and tend to fracture with bending of the headset. Now my second Openswim are failing in the same way.
This could be a cheaper replacement, but I know that other bone conducting headphones (like Finnis) don't have the same fidelity as Shokz. The sounds are quieter and muddy which makes podcasts hard to hear in the water.
These headphones are so comfortable, you forget you're wearing them. They're ideal for people that need to be able to hear the outside world.
I wear them when while gardening, bike riding etc. The sound quality is good, ideal for podcasts, music sounds good also, but does not compare to over/on ear headphones.
And yes the battery last 8+ hours. They turn off automatically if they're not connected for 15 minutes, and if you don't use them for a week the battery still stays full.
This is my second pair, the first ones broke when they were in my jacket pocket, I now always use the included hard case.
