IXO 7 also available for ~$51 after discount. Not sure on the differences, but still has micro-USB charger!
I was thinking the same, If only it had a USB-C charger.
Thinking about getting this, like the fact that is has a simple usb to micro-usb charger…
7 seems to have bigger battery, and includes offset and right angle adapters. Seems worth it to me for 15 bucks.
Where's the deal with offset and right angle adapters (for ixo7)? Would definitely be interested but I don't see the inclusion of those adapters.
I still have an IXO 3 way back from when Masters (remember Masters? 😢) had them on a mega sale. Tempted to upgrade to the IXO 7, but this one still works perfectly well.
for those who are undecided on this I thought it would be toy like but these are surprisingly capable with enough torque to be a great addition to your workshop.
Mine broke outside warranty and Bosch didn’t care. I was hoping it would last longer considering my occasional usage.
please remember this isn't the same as a drill. don't buy this for big DIY projects lol
Just to be clear, what's the key difference? Peak torque from a drill is higher? Higher rpm? (Don't think rpm usually matters for screwdriving that much.)
Everything is different - this is a screwdriver. It's got high torque and low speed, and a much more fine control of the trigger.
A drill is the opposite - high speed, no torque, and too big to use in confined spaces.
Oh, I see what he means now - i.e. don't buy this as a SINGLE lone tool to attempt to drill lots of holes.
But just to discuss the point - many drills are used as drivers. Some (not all) also specifically have driver modes (for setting torque limits etc.)
The bulkiness/weight is definitely true though.
@dealz4all: Whilst you can use a drill as a screwdriver, it's crap compared to a real powered screwdriver in so many ways.
A powered screwdriver is much better at being a screwdriver.
@Nom: Agree with that (and you would hope so!), but I'm curious - other than the bulkiness/weight, which can be a very major factor, what are the "so many ways"? (compared against a drill in driver mode with torque limit).
I assume the right angle and offset adapters are also available for drills.
@dealz4all: Bulk, Weight, and the fine control - the screwdrivers triggers go smoothly from 0% to 100% torque - whilst a drill does have trigger control too, it's nowhere near as sensitive. You can't do precision work with a drill for this reason.
The screwdriver is just better, at being a screwdriver.
my 2008 ixo model still going strong, even when i pick it up years later it still has charge.
Had the previous gen. Handy tool to do work quickly
