OZB-MIDYEAR

Quick Intro

My deal video: https://youtu.be/dCfuCBwRILA

Once again, thank you for the overwhelming support with our last major deal back in February! After a number of requests for a new deal, we're running a mid-year offer on our brands.

The Deal

Amino Z Whey Protein Isolate 4kg for $149.99 Delivered + $50 back in store credit (Existing and paid Club Z will get $65)

Plus we have some aggressive offers on these other products of ours:

Coupon code: OZB-MIDYEAR (add in shopping cart)

Please note that due to limited stock, this deal will remain active subject to stock availability. Flavours will likely sell out and I will keep this deal updated.

You will get the store credit just so long as you order 4kg of WPI (or more). You can order anything else on top of this and you will still receive the bonus credit amount.

Currently this deal is running until Sunday. This may change based on product availability and we'll update the deal accordingly.

WPI Flavours

We have 17 flavours available to choose from.

Our new releases are Neapolitan Ice Cream and Mint Choc Chip.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. All use thaumatin except for Aussie Choc Malt and Cinnamon Icing (these two use stevia). Please note that some people find the stevia aftertaste unpleasantly bitter, so we'd recommend choosing from other options if you're concerned about this.

We've transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia w/w!

Also note the Unflavoured option is straight WPI with just sunflower lecithin to assist in mixing and reduce frothing (less than 1%).

Flavour Availability:

This area will be updated as flavours run out.

  • In Stock: Chocolate, Vanilla Creamy, Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate Coconut, Unflavoured, Coconut Ice Cream, Iced Coffee, Creme Caramel, Aussie Choc Malt, Smooth Milk Chocolate, Cinnamon Icing, Chocolate Caramel, Coffs Harbour Choc Banana, Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream, Neapolitan Ice Cream
  • On Backorder (Can be backordered): Mint Choc Chip (ETA June 5 for order dispatch)
  • Sold Out (Cannot be backordered): None

Just wanted to say I've done 5 orders with these guys and drink this stuff 5 days a week. Good taste and range of flavours. Wish I could do another order but I'm still well-stocked from the last birthday deal.

    • Thanks for the feedback Vavoom and I'm so happy to read that you've loving the product. Thanks for the purchase from the last deal!

      Jay

      • I used this deal last time and somehow got tricked into using a different coupon code and never received credit.

        • +2

@Pricebeat can you PM Vanessa your order details? She can fix this up manually for you. I'm sorry for the inconvenience here. I'll also highlight this to her so she is aware that I have replied back to you here.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Thanks, I will send her a message.

            • +1

@Pricebeat: No worries, thanks @Pricebeat and I've given her a heads up.

              Jay

              • @aminozcomau: Sorry can’t find her username under reps. Did you mean to send a message to this account that you are commenting from?

                • @Pricebeat: @Pricebeat yes sorry for the confusion, please send a private message to this account. I've got Vanessa on here doing the private messages. Thanks in advance.

                  Jay

    • I've done 1 4kg order of WPI and I'm barely done with the first 2 pouches… how many scoops do you drink a day? Don't get me wrong the stuff is great and tastes good but I can't seem to finish it! 😂

    • The flavours are all incredible. Also very easy to mix. I haven't had them all, but all 6 so far have been brilliant. And my results are still as great as they were on Optimum Gold Whey.

      • Thanks so much for sharing this publicly @Bilders and I'm very happy to see that you've been so impressed.

        Jay

  • Ahh man missed out, I was waiting for this for so long :D buckled last week and bought 5KG

    • Oh thanks for the recent order @Ryansta I do really appreciate the support! Of course feel free to PM Vanessa and we can always look after you.

      Jay

    • ouch, I emailed them a week ago and asked when the next sale was and they let me know it was today :D

    • Same case here. Got 5 kg last week with the 25% code i got sent. But i think i will order another 4 kg now

      • Damn, how long will it take you to finish 9kg? lol

        • I go through about 100g a day so only 90 days. Trying to get leaner so getting more protein this way rather than food

          • @FiDad: Must be getting hungry all the time because wpi digests very quick and isn't filling at all. Chicken would be better, it's 0 carbs and nearly 0 fat.
Also how much protein do you need without anabolics? 2g/kg body weight, won't get any benefit beyond that.

            • +2

@reactor-au: I do have about 150g of chicken breast in evening and have 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg in afternoon. Also have about 60g of rolled oats with 30 g of WPI mixed in the morning. I do have fair bit of veggies in ny diet so i dont feel that hungry most days. By my calculations i am hitting 1.8g/kg body weight at the moment and seems to be working well.

    Wow…well in time…
Found mango sorbet to taste artificial from last order….need to find other flavour to try…

    • Looks like mango sorbet disappeared from website…

    • My favourites so far are the Coffs Harbour choc banana and vanilla creamy (the last one I sometimes add cacao powder to). Matcha green tea is also pretty good, but does contain caffeine.

      • @qwijibo thanks for sharing and I'll also share this with the team, this feedback is always helpful.

        Jay

    • +4

@pyramid yep we got rid of the mango for that reason. It used stevia and we've found a number of people don't like that stevia aftertaste. While we are working on reformulating it, it's been removed for now until we get a flavour that is superior.

Thanks for the feedback too, it's helpful and I'll pass this along.

      Jay

      • Do you offer replacements? We have an unopened mango sorbet from the last deal…

        • +2

@SteveJobs yes we absolutely can, please just send us through a PM and Vanessa will be able to sort it out for you.

          Jay

      • For what it’s worth, mango sorbet was my favourite flavour out of the 7 or so I’ve tried. Matcha is pretty good too.

        • I was a fan of the mango as well. Was a nice change from the typical flavours and with water didn't even taste like a protein shake

          • @AusGaz: I'll pass this along @quorg and @AusGaz. We had to discontinue the mango due to ingredient issues, but we are working on reformulating this. Just no ETA as we have run into a lot of challenges in getting the flavour right.

            Jay

What is the expiry date on the creatine? Just bought one kg from another brand a few days ago.

    • +1

@ky1975 the creatine is all very fresh, best before at least February 2025. I hope this helps!

      Jay

      • What is the country of origin of the WPI?

        • +1

Currently we have WPI sourced from USA. I hope this helps.

          Jay

      • yes, thank you Jay. Bought.

        • Thanks for the order @ky1975!

          Jay

  • What is Neapolitan icecream flavour…

    • Chocolate/Strawberry/vanilla?

    • @pyramid we were aiming for a combination of choc, strawberry and vanilla. Like when you get these three ice cream flavours and they melt together. It's our newest release and uses thaumatin.

      Jay

      • Let me try it this time..

        • Nice, and keen on any feedback you may have on it. Thanks for the new order @pyramid!

          Jay

would chocolate peanut butter still be an option?

    • That's gone as well from list…

    • We've removed this one since the last deal. It was a popular flavour, but we're reviewing it due to challenges in sourcing the ingredients. We've instead added a few other flavours in the meantime. Sorry it's unavailable presently.

      Jay

      • no worries jay.

Thank you for the great products and service over the past few years!

        • Thanks @Plnguyen20!

          Jay

      • Oh Damn, i just got 5kg of peanut butter last week and wanted to add another 4kg with this deal together with some ZMA maybe. I have tried Aussie choc malt favour before and dont like it, what other chocolate flavour would you recommend for me?

        • +1

@FiDad all the other chocolate flavours will have thaumatin which yields a much better flavour profile. Personally I really like the chocolate, choc caramel and choc coconut. The Smooth Milk is quite popular, but less of a dark chocolate like the normal chocolate flavour we have.

          I hope this helps.

          • @aminozcomau: Thanks mate. I will order Choc and choc coconut and see how it goes

            • +1

@FiDad: Awesome thanks for the order @FiDad!

              Jay

Musashi 2kg for $55 seems better?

    • +5

WPI vs WPC…this one comes cheaper with 50 dollar credit.

      • +1

Damn, I already ordered from this deal and can't cancel

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/776021

      • Yeah good enough if just getting 2kg, and the plant based version was fine for $55. Had a review of the plant protein options on aminoz last night and didn't see anything that cheap.

WPI probably a no brainer for those stocking up.

    • +3

If you want WPI only this deal is way better, and you get $50 off your next order, so for me because i had the Z points from the last bday deal, 4kg of WPI only cost me about $100 all up this time which is a bargain. Plus these guys are awesome to deal with.

      • @roundnumbersonly thanks so much for the support!

        Jay

    • @Homr yeah it's a very different product to our WPI in terms of ingredients and macronutrients. Musashi is a WPI/WPC blend with lower protein, higher carbs and higher fat percentages. Ours is a straight WPI, meaning higher protein percentage and we have lower fat/carbs. We sell Musashi and it's still a good product though.

      Jay

      • How does your plant protein compare?

        • @swagneto we have two main plant proteins available: Amino Z Pea Protein Isolate and Amino Z Vegan Protein

The Vegan protein is around 80% protein, the pea isolate is around 85% protein.

They will have a different flavour profile to the whey isolate. The whey isolate is a slight milky flavour which generally people prefer. But if you're intolerant to dairy or prefer going for plant based protein, either of these would be more suitable. We recently reformulated both of these plant protein flavours too.

          I hope this helps.

          Jay

      • Hi Jay @aminozcomau - do you agree that a WPC although higher fat/carbs content and lactose potential issues, some state it has more nutrients versus say a WPI? Or do you still find the WPI a more superior product - less nutrients but at the advantage of lower fat and carbs, and a higher protein quality?

        • +1

Hi @SaberX, a WPC will have more fat/carbs and less protein than a WPI counterpart. Raw WPC is typically 80% protein, while raw WPI is typically 90% protein.

In terms of lactose, a WPI will have less lactose due to the lower carb/sugar content.

WPI undergoes additional processing in order to purify the protein further. It has a faster absorption rate and higher bioavailability.

In terms of overall quality, a WPI will be superior. The drawback is that WPI will cost significantly more due to the additional processing that is required.

I hope this is of help.

          Jay

          • +1

@aminozcomau: Hey Jay. thanks for the education 101 for a newbie. I suppose the 'nutrients' that some sites refer to with WPC is those you get from something with more carbs/fat, which I presume for those serious about muscle gain the WPI eliminates, and therefore focuses solely on the protein. I was more just curious what the so called 'nutrients' advantage WPC had over WPI.

I presume the additional processing to purify means it's cleaner and healthier for the body - the adsorption rate and higher bioavailability is great. I presume there's scientific backing that similar to collagen peptides the body can absorb the WPI pretty effectively e.g. with some supplements there's contention that the ingredients even get through to the digestive tract or gett absorbed into the body and just end up being 'consumed' through the stomach acids.

            • @SaberX: Hi @SaberX in terms of nutrients, I wouldn't consider WPC to be overly nutrient dense. Though I'm no dietician, you'd probably be best sourcing other nutrients from whole food. WPI is most effective to be taken post workout due to the quality, rate of absorption and purity of the product. You can take it throughout the day too, the biggest yield is following a more intense training session to facilitate recovery.

              Jay

            • +1

@SaberX: First of all you shouldn't be chasing a vast variety of nutrients from supplements, priority should be from the diet as there's many nutrient dense foods (Avocado, Kiwi, Broccoli, Oysters, Red meat etc.) you can implement in your diet to get the essential micronutrients (assuming you're taking enough macronutrients first). Also, WPC has more carbs and fat as Jay said so would be ideal if you're skinny and your goal is to gain weight and you struggle consuming multiple meals throughout the day to meet the calorie surplus you need.
In all other cases and even in the above scenario it is a better choice to consume WPI instead of WPC, according to my 10 year personal experience and researching multiple scientific studies.

  • When is the store credit granted after purchase?

    • Store credit is assigned as "Z Points" to your account within 1 week after your order ships. It can then be applied to any future order that you place.

      • Thanks @pyramid!

@specwarop just FYI, you can apply them on future orders by logging into your account and applying your "Z Points" at checkout.

        Jay

        • Hi rep. can these z points credits also be used against future sales such as this? or can't be stacked?

FIrst time WPI purchaser, are flavours that strong? A few sound nice from a general food point of view e.g. i'd eat matcha green tea ice cream, but i can't work out if i'd be retching from certain flavours when it's in protein form haha.

Also an infrequent gym'er, minimum once a week, more for maintenance and slow and steady gains, any issues with taking WPI ? Presume excess just gets excreted so no issues?

Can you combine the WPI if taking a collagen peptides mix alongside (trying to rebuild some ligaments and general joints so trying the collagen peptides specifically)? I mean some aminos would be a double up but i presume it's like excess vitamins that just get excreted and no issues if it isn't utilised by the body?

          • @SaberX: I can confirm that you can use the z points on anything. It's applied during the payment options so doesn't matter what is in your cart. I've used my current z points this order to get $110 off my new order.

          • @SaberX: You're right @SaberX - excess WPI taken will be excreted by the body. It's effectively just a source of protein and if you consume too much protein you will excrete it.

WPI protein is the same protein you find in milk (whey), so there is no issue in combining with other protein sources.

The main benefit to WPI is the purity, bioavailability and rate of absorption, making it ideal to take post-workout.

Also yes, Z Points can be used on future sales just like this.

            Jay

  • Nice Deal. Any Matcha Green flavour reviews? I’m curious…

    • +1

I ordered it previously and liked it. Do not I never tried even mocha tea before so YMMV.

    • +1

Yes, not too bad, very palatable. Does have the extra caffeine apparently incase you're not a fan like me. Don't find amino z mixes that well compared to BN.

    • +1

I like it and about to get another bag. To me, it tastes like a matcha latte with a little sugar (I normally don't get sugar with mine). It is sweeter, but not sickeningly sweet.

    • +1

Yes, it's my favourite flavour (alongside ice coffee). Depending on how much you mix, it may be a tad on the sweet side. I mix it with matcha tea powders to enhance the flavour. :)

    • +1

Thanks to everyone above for sharing this feedback. This is all super helpful and I'll be passing this over to our team.

Also @MrsJones if you don't like it please just reach out to our team as we have our 110% Guarantee, or we can just send another flavour out.

      Jay

  • Oh I'm crying that I didn't wait for this deal…. Bought 3kg last week. :(

    • Thanks for the recent order @Chibswong I really appreciate the support of the brand. But as always, feel free to reach out to Vanessa via PM.

      Jay

  • Why does the creatine display a lower price momentarily when I open the link? I certainly hope it's not Jack inflating prices

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/402102/103823/screensh…

    • +1

That price is for the 250g packet of creatine, just select 1kg and it'll show the normal price of 47.95

      • Ah I see, it must default to the 250g before it changes to the advertised product

    • +2

@SpainKing yeah just as @BloodRanger said, it's for the smaller price. Sorry for the poor and confusing UX, that's something we're working on. But that's our standard creatine price.

      Jay

  • Ordered 2 1kg creatine, cheers!

    • Awesome thanks for the order!

      Jay

  • +1

I added the Creatine and it shows $47 at checkout? Tried using the code and it doesn't apply.

    • Had a similar issue when I had WPI + creatine in the cart. Take the creatine out, apply the code, then chuck it back in, worked for me.

      • But what if I only wanted to buy Creatine?

        Code still won't apply.

        oh well.

    • @nomoremoney I'll go ahead and fix this issue now.

But a quick fix for you could be one of two things:

      1. Empty the cart, add it in again and then apply the code
      2. Go into incognito, add into the card, apply the code

Likely a backend issue which I'll fix now, thanks for the heads up.

      Jay

      • Thanks incognito works.

I believe it detects the first time order coupon applies automatically.

        • Oh right thanks for that @nomoremoney

I'm still investigating why this happened, but thanks for letting me know it went through ok.

          Thanks for the order!

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Hey mate, happened to me too, tried incognito but the creatine still coming up as

Shipping & Handling (FREE SHIPPING! - Free & Fast) $0.00
You will earn: 47 Z points

Any issues please let me know. Thanks!

              Jay

              • @aminozcomau: All sorted. Ordered and already shipped. Thank you!

                • @Jono258: Great, thanks for your patience on this and thank you for the order @Jono258!

                  Jay

Why isn’t the coupon working it won’t add on because the auto 20% keeps showing up and comes up saying this coupon won’t stack on top
    This is the msg
Good news, you already have a 20% discount automatically applied to all the products in your cart! Coupon " OZB-MIDYEAR" won't stack on top of this.

    • +1

Same, I'm sure they'll fix it up soon

    • Thank you! Working now!

    • Sorry for the issue @Bargain Beast - I'll look into this bug. Likely due to the number of orders presently, it's a backend issue, but I'm glad it went through.

      Jay

      • I'm having the same problem. It won't override the 20% off from my ClubZ membership
