Dark roast is my favourite but yeah, better to stock up when it’s $2.90.

    Crunchy > Smooth.

    • I find crunchy dries out faster than smooth.

      • Yeah, it's because there is less oil to mix into it (and that is because there is some oil still in the crunchy pieces that would be released if it was the smooth version). It's a valid point you make.

  • How does this compare to Kraft/Bega?

      Favourably.

    • I personally found that yes, Mayver's is tastier, but the convenience of not having to stir the peanut butter every time I wanted to use it won out and I'm back to my regular (a big ol' tub of Skippy from Costco, but same difference as Kraft etc)

      • It takes like 3 seconds to stir lol

        • Not to the consistency that I wanted. Maybe I was stirring it wrong, if there's a wrong way to stir something, but I found it was taking 30~60 seconds to fully incorporate the oil / paste. Or it could be I was being too paranoid because I was starting with a full / nearly full jar and not wanting to make a mess. Just my personal experience though, and not reflective of what others might find typical.

@beeawwb: Yeah fair enough. First stir after opening takes a little longer for sure. We store them upside down before opening for the first time. Makes it a bit easier.

            • @Rod71: Damn that’s a great idea. I just give ours a stir each time I open it.

It tastes better and the ingredients are actually peanuts with no additions.

It was much cheaper a couple of weeks ago at Woollies. So not a deal.

  • Yes dark crunchy tastes better than smooth

  • Love a dark roast crunchy.
