I just bought with $900 eBay gift card purchased from Shopback.
So the calculation looks like:
$921 - $22.50 = $898.50 (final cost out of pocket).
Unsure if we can stack with cashback deals from Shopback, but wasn't really prepared to wait given how good the deal is already.
how is it constantly faulty?? warranty?
2 trigger replacements
Motor cut in and out
Broken seal on main bin
Head wheel broken
Finally was a crack a part they replaced only a month ago (probably a refurb part), meaning suction is about half what it should be.
Warranty is 2 years, they did service twice out of warranty for free when I pushed them, but just over dealing with it and trips to their service centre.
this or V11… is this really worth an extra $400?

Arrived his morning too - heavier than i expected but knew this going into it (coming from a V11)…however weight distribution is better though so overall better usability.
Initial biggest instant win is the noise level, wow..sooo much quieter (the high pitch stuff is gone)
Minor annoyance is that the head doesnt start up again once you reinsert it after using the inbuilt dusting tool - have to turn off and on. Hilariously with the trigger system this would be fine :D but i'll take the off/on…
Mine arrived this morning too. Agree with the noise level, it's night and day compared to my DC45. I can actually still have a conversation while vacuuming haha.

Got mine today. Way better than my LG Cordzero. Surprised at how quiet it is despite being way more powerful. Weight not an issue (feels lighter than my LG) either because of the weight distribution.
Which heads do you guys use? I've got a mix of hard flooring and carpet. Is the Fluffy Optic or Motorbar okay to use on both? If so, which one do you prefer? The illuminated fluffy optic head I thought would be a bit gimmicky but it really does work well.

Apologies for any confusion; there were listing errors on your recent Dyson Gen 5 Detect purchase with eBay.
This listing suggested the product contained a wand clip, which it doesn’t. The listing also stated you would receive the standard crevice tool; however, you will receive the advanced crevice tool built into the wand, complete with a dusting brush.
Both of these have now been corrected on the listing however to make good for the wand clip, Dyson will send this to you separately, free of charge. The wand clip can be expected within 10 working days via Australia Post.

The wand clip is a legacy accessory for holding the standard crevice/brush tool onto the wand without the built in crevice tool. Probably just end up in the landfill for gen5 users. I d prefer a partial refund lol.
