Schwinn's Tandem Bike features an aluminium 66.04cm dual cup holder, a tandem classic geometry frame and a semi-horizontal drop out. They have a rigid fork, are shimano equipped with Weinmann ZAC-19 double wall rims, and have wire bead tyres. They also feature a Schwinn Classic Cruiser saddle with double springs and alloy V-brakes.
Seems cheap to me for a Schwinn. Jakes, one of the reviewers likes it.
Chariot on fire
Fast delivery. Thoroughly packed. Almost completely assembled. Very little and simple assembly to be done. Sturdy tandem bike. Surprisingly light at 24 kg. Definitely 6061/6060 aluminium like my other bikes and not heavy railway track type steel. Easy to pick up. Nice strong and stable stand which comes in very handy. Although not top of the range group set, it comes with a Shimano Tourney rear derailleur which is very reliable, ensuring a smooth gear change even when under load. Although sceptical about the twist gear shifter (turn type as opposed to the rapidfire click type) I am pleasantly surprised with the hassle free Max twist shifter. If need be in future, it would be easy and cheap to replace it with a rapidfire shifter. The seven gear system is sufficient and avoids a second chain ring in the front which is a blessing. No front chain fall offs. This is not a racer but a classic roadster and as such it is very fit for purpose. Good value for money.
