Amazon sells it for $103, the rest of the price previously mentioned is shipping. Amazon still makes profit at that price so I can only guess what the profit margin is in Australia (I guess at $199 as you offer, the margin is probably $80).

I'd been looking for a deal on this and almost bought from Amazon last week.
Happy to pay $30 extra over Amazon for local stock in hand today with the chance to try in store and clearly no warranty issues. Also bear in mind that $18 of the extra $30 is GST.

Point taken. True for this particular model. If you look at better and more expensive models the savings increase dramatically though. And as we all know Miele is high quality so unlikely there are any warranty issues (definitely not in the one year you get over here) - it will probably last 10 years or more without any issue.
As regards the extra money - keep in mind the normal price of 299 as opposed to 104 Euro (including almost 20% German GST). How do you explain that price difference other than with high profit margins?
