Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in this sci-fi action sequel co-written and directed by James Cameron. Young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of a human rebellion in a machine-dominated world, is under threat from the new T-1000 Terminator (Robert Patrick) - an improved, virtually indestructible model sent back in time by artificial intelligence system Skynet to kill him. The adult John also sends a copy of the original Terminator (Schwarzenegger) back in time, this time to protect the boy and his mother, Sarah (Linda Hamilton). As the battle of the behemoths begins, Sarah and John face a race against time to destroy the origins of Skynet and alter the future enough to stop the slaughter of the human race.

An absolute master piece. No trash comic book movie Hollywood puts out now even comes close to it.

      This.

      • That.

Better order one and watch it over and over again so you can distract yourself from people enjoying the new Zelda game, huh Paintoad?

Legendary movie! James Cameron, take a bow.

  • +2

Is this the version with excessive digital noise reduction?

  • +5

Terminator back in stock for $4 too.

    • +2

Thanks. I got that and Watchmen, which is also $4

Both movies that are totally worth getting in 4k, which is probably why the regular bluray is so cheap

      • -1

Watchmen is excellent! I have the bluray and book.

        • -1

Did you see the TV series? That was something else hey.

      • Terminator isn’t out in 4K yet.

    • Is this worth it? I’ve heard some negative things about the 4K version, from memory, but maybe I’m thinking of T1.

      • Think I might buy this one anyway. Reviews are mixed but mostly positive. One negative said that the 4K version is reproduced from the 3D production and the far field is very blurry (more than the original) but the near field is nice and sharp. Other said it’s only marginally more sharp than the FHD version.

        • It’s got excessive DNR and is generally considered one of the worst looking 4K’s released.

      • A few YouTube reviewers put the 4k version as one of the worst 4k movies ever. I've never watched the 4k but happy to buy the Blu-Ray copy at this price.

        • Yeah I might just get the non 4K I suppose. I have Predator 4K and it’s really great to watch. I only have a 48” screen so 1080p still looks sharp enough.

Ten bucks for the greatest action movie ever made.

Made by an ex trucker with no film school behind him, no billion dollar budget, no woke nonsense, no kiddie comic book crap. Just a wild old school action flick that still holds up today, 30 years on.

      30 years on.

Thanks for making me feel old.

        I'm nearly 60.

      "no billion dollar budget”

It was the most expensive film ever at the time of its release.

      https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/james-cameron-4-times-he-ma…

So yeah, smaller budget by todays standards, but massive for the period.

      • -3

James Cameron cleared this up saying the budget for T2 was peanuts.

He went on to make True Lies which cost more, then Titanic which not only cost twice what True Lies did, but the budget wasn't nearly enough and he made nothing out of it because costs exceeded the $200m budget.

So no, Terminator 2 wasn't expensive and that's especially impressive considering the state of the art CGI.

More money was spent on far less impressive films that didn't look as good as dated much quicker.

T2 was the first to break through the 95m budget, but it wasn't the most expensive film of the 90's by a long shot but should have been, that's what makes it so impressive for me.

The costs for all the CGI specialists, Arnold was charging a heap, huge sets and models etc. Amazing.

      no woke nonsense

I don’t know, a Terminator who avoids killing people and understands why people cry sounds pretty woke to me /s

  • +3

I’ve never seen a blu-ray, but if I was going to it would be this movie.

    • a callback to the first terminator movie where dogs would barks at terminators. During the phonecall John mentions he can hear the dog barking.

  • +1

The only thing good after T2 was "The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

  • People love this movie so much they won't even upvote the deal or consider owning it
    Must be great!

    • +1

I thought upvoting was for bargains, not if you love it.

    • Why would I buy it on blu-ray if I don’t own any device to watch it?

      • There is a massive overlap between people who don't really care about the art of cinema and those who don't own players for said medium.

        • I dunno, I purchase physical media but for many people streaming is sufficient.

          • @Randolph Duke: Hence I said overlap, not definitive rule.

It makes sense if you don't love cinema in all its forms to be satisfied by whatever is on the streaming rotation.

    • Have the PlayStation to run the Blu ray in. You're right not many have media players these days.

  • I can't believe you guys forgot about, arguably, the best two lines of the millennia…

    Hasta la vista, baby

    &
I'll be back forward to 1:14.

"I'll be back" was also used in T1 and made its comeback in T2. Things I'll never forget cos my dad keeps using it on me, even to this day.
