    Damn V11 doesn't have a hardwood head :(

    • +3

i bought one from the previous JB Hifi sale, coming from a V10 that has the hardwood head I had the same concern. However happy to report that the V11 original head works well on hardwood. I still have the hardwood head from my V10 and it fits the V11 but I dont bother to use anymore.

Got a V11 last month(TGG deal) and I’m very happy with the stock head, I only take it off when cleaning the car. Oh, and although mine came with a bonus spare battery, this thing lasts forever, 2nd battery is still in the box :)

The performance will give you a hardwood and a head feeling

  • Anyone know if this is effective on bedding? Trying to decide between this and the Miele C3 Complete from a Jb Hi-Fi price match … have allergies and need to vacuum bedding + blankets weekly.

Heard the Miele is superior however the Dyson is hand held for convenience and might have better attachments for bedding.

    • I have the V7 with mattress tool and it works well. It is compatible with the V11, so it should be better.

    • Miele are very good but comparing a battery vac v mains power is really not that simple. The V11 is a good vac & you can use the max power mode though it drains the battery a lot faster it'll certainly do the job but the Miele will have greater suction power & you won't run out of battery. I think Dyson do a money back guarantee (direct) so might be worth trying it out

Know this isn't what you asked but the eucalyptus dust mite spray works really well for me. I toss it on after vacuuming.

Alergies suck. I only just found out this year I had them, before I was just sneezing all the time and felt like shit and had no idea why. I have to wash clothes that are stored before wearing them now just due to the dust. Takes ages to get over it too.

after buying the xiaomi vac for $200 i cant justify getting these for triple the price. i had a dyson as well in the past and the xiaomi in some ways is better designed.

My Dyson DC16 died after 16 years after everyday use, it died after I accidently vacuumed water spill on the floor.

I doubt Xiaomi will done the same

      • +5

It doesn't have to last as long though since it's quarter of the price

        • -2

At the end it does come with the same amount of money if you buy the xiaomi again 3x after they all died + you ended up with no vacuum.

@MauTauAja: But then you also aren't having to use a 16 year old vacuum

            • @BargainMe: Just imagine all the amazing sucking technology advances that you miss out…

            • @BargainMe: Pure waste of resources. Buy one instead of 4.

This is Ozbargain where people don’t seem to place any value on time or resources after all.

      • wow thats impressive. how many batteries did you have to change? im surprised suction power on a 16 year old vac held up but kudos

    • If you are looking for a better design, take a look at the Miele HX2.

      • Ergonomic design
      • Wider attachment
      • Start button (like V12) - not trigger pull
      • Excellent build quality (made in Germany)
      • Full 2 year warranty, including battery
      • Cheaper RRP

$719.10 delivered from Powerland ebay - coupon YIPPEE10

    • Is it worth spending the extra to get the three bonus tools from Dyson directly? I'm torn!

      • I have v11 and i can tell you my experience is after the first few weeks, you rarely change around the accessories. So i would go for the cheaper price if more than $50 difference

    • Nice one, what's the warranty policy though? I've bought electronics from an eBay seller in the past, only for the listing to be taken down, the seller changing their name/deleting their account and going MIA, no warranty claim was able to be made when it broke :(

Dyson vaccum is way much better than Dreame.. don’t buy Dreame, such a waste of money.

My Dreame v9 which I got for ~$300 in 2019 still doing a great job. Just replaced the battery in it and yeah, couldn't be happier. My only complaint is parts availability. Finding a battery was a real challenge, but considering you can get the V10 for $250 these days, it's still worth considering. If parts were easily available I'd be recommend them to everyone.

      • I’ve still got my Dreame that I got around the same time to replace my old trusted v6, 6 months ago I purchased a replacement battery for $59 from Aliexpress as I was happy with it. Compared to our new V11 it’s night and day though. Only “issue” with the V11 is that it’s a bit heavier.
I highly recommend the trigger lock add-on from Amazon so that you don’t have to press the power button

  • Just got my v10 pro delivered from the other deal, only slightly cheaper 😬

  • seems like a good price

I have a Gen5 Detect and whilst it is expensive (look out for discounts). It is well worth the cost if you have hard floors - particularly with the laser light head (you will only appreciate this if you try it and it is very useful), They have taken feedback on the previous version with button, more powerful light etc. but also has an auto mode (automatically increases power when detects there are more particles etc. still really easy to empty, etc.

I'd say the only issue is that the light shows how dusty things are even when they are clean so I am now vacuuming about every 1-2 days.

    • Have you found the Gen5 Detect to be effective on upholstery and bedding? I heard it has the best suction out there for a cordless HEPA vacuum but that's only half the equation - has to be effective on the surface.

  • I have tested several versions in the store, and to me, generally they are not light… which one is a light version? I need to buy one.
Thank you for sharing your experience :)

Bunnings and Dyson sell V7 for 349, its just the V6 with slightly changes.
V11 and V12 ae pretty heavy

      • V12 is 0.3kg lighter than V7 fyi.

  • How does this compare to the V8/ V10 which also both appear to be on sale?

    • I have used all 3.
V10 is better value and lighter.

Went with V10 Cyclone instead, as far as I can tell, it is only missing a wand clip (ordered it for $5 off AliExpress) for $87 less.

    • wait what…. did you forget suction power, digital display, click-in battery, etc etc.?

      • Actually more suction doesn't necessarily correlate to better performance, imo V10 is better on a hard floor which 100% of my house is. The rest is irrelevant to me, mostly I was looking for a lighter one.

        • I was trying to make clear that there are more differences than just a wand clip.

Personally, I have used both v10 and v11 - and with the same head, my v11 does suck better on hard floor, and especially on carpet. The adaptive suction on v11 also made a difference, although would not have mattered to you since you have 100% hard floor.

The 400g weight difference did not matter too much, at least to me, as my hand equally sores when using both for long periods.

          • @seraphy: Fair enough, yeah there are quite a few differences but obviously, you have to decide what is relevant to you, maybe could've worded it differently.

  • Don't forget to 3d print a replacement trigger in advance!!
