The Reolink Video Doorbell PoE (Smart 2K+ Wired PoE Video Doorbell with Chime) had been out of stock since early March and had not been in stock for a lot longer before that but it is back in stock! Please note the WiFi version appears to still be out of stock.

Use REOEASTER4U coupon code for $9 off.

No subscription required for the doorbell. Reolink Video Doorbell supports 24/7 continuous, motion-triggered and scheduled recording. You can save your recordings locally to a Micro SD card (up to 256GB) or to a Reolink NVR.

Please note, according to Reolink website the doorbell is only fully supported and compatible with all features using newer Reolink NVRs that have the following hardware: Hw_H3MB18, Hw_N3MB01, Hw_N2MB02, Hw_N5MB01, Hw_N6MB01 and Hw_N7MB01. For example, if you purchased a Reolink system from 2020 with the RLN8-410-E NVR with H3MB16 hardware it will not be compatible with the doorbell and will be very limited.

This product comes with a 2-year warranty.

If this is sold out you can also purchase from Amazon US but be aware that the US version will come with a chime with US plug that needs an adaptor.

      No…

Not sure but Reo Link have never forced a subscription on any other product. I've already got a Reolink set up at my house so would love to add this on, just need to check compatibility with the NVR.

  • No subscription needed.. but would be nice to purchase additional chimes..

    • Tiny discount but thanks

  • was wondering this product or opting for a hikvision intercom kit, does anyone provide suggestions on which to go for?

    • If you already have reolink cameras, then this…

I replaced my Hikvision setup with this. Hikvision is good if you have a multi-apartment building but as a result the UI is way more complicated and unreliable.
      This just works, every time

    • I have Hikvision POE doorbell and it is not as good as the Reolink doorbell. The Hikvision management software sucks too.

has been out of stock since early March

Has it been sold in Australia before?

    I don't think so…

    • +1

It was sold in March this year in Australia but quickly sold out. You can find the posts on Ozbargain and Reddit of both the PoE and WiFi versions being sold on Australia Reolink site back in March.

I had opted in to get emails once it was in stock, but have not received anything yet.

        • +2

          Same, never received a notification.

Managed to pick up the wifi one at the time though due to the Ozbargain posts.

          • @srsparky: I'll wait for a sale…

Can't be stuffed climbing into the roof to pass through another cable…

          • @Prong: I got the email last time, but 24 hours after they were sold out (based on OzBargain comments at the time)

        • I didn't get the email notification back in March but I received it this time around in my junk email yesterday.

        • News flash for you buddy. That feature is a designed to just collect your email only. ;)

That feature is a designed to just collect your email only

The already had my email address from my account details.

      • There was a difference with the wifi one and POE, If I am not mistaken the wifi one has a feature which is missing in POE

          Rich notifications.

But I use frigate and Home assistant so all cams have custom rich notifications anyway for me.

  • I'm guessing if I don't have the reolink NVR, I can't live view the video form the doorbell via the reolink app? Going to invest in reolink cameras and NVR later on but just not now so wondering if it will work for viewing before then?

    • Based on my experience with the regular cameras, yes you can still access via reolink app.

    • You don’t need NVR for the Reolink doorbell or the cameras. You can just use MicroSD card for storage; live view works regardless.

      • Thanks for the info. So how does the poe doorbell communicate with the app then forn live view? Is there wifi too?

        • You need to run Ethernet to POE Switch which is then wired via Ethernet to your router. On the phone, just connect to camera via the app once on the same network or use the UID printed on the camera to connect.

    • Yes, you can view the video via the app. (Source - I have this doorbell)

Your phone needs to be on the same network. If you want to view it when away from home, then your network has to have an internet connection.

You can set (for example) motion alerts in your phone notifications. When they pop up, clicking them takes you to the live view automatically. Or you can view it any time via the app.

You can also view it via a browser on a computer on the same network.

With an SD card in the doorbell, you can set it to record when it detects motion. From the app, you can then view any of those recordings. It works like an NVR. The downside is if someone steals the doorbell, then they also get the footage. Reolink do have a free option to store limited footage in the cloud, but I have not used that.

I also have a NAS on my network, which records video like an NVR. That is a complete separate system and app (Synology) but can give the same functionality. I just use the Reolink app (and an SD card in the doorbell) and leave the NAS as the backup.

      • Thank all, very helpful!!! Got one.

      • Does it work as a camera with synology ss if i have a license?

happen to know if it works with home assistant for alerts?

        • I don't have Synology but I have mine working in HA with frigate.

        • Yep - it supports ONVIF so is easily added.

I have not used it with home assistant yet. It's on the to do list.

As far as I understand it does work, but there's a few complications. There's been some updated firmware for the doorbell, but I've not looked into it further. I have a new NAS to migrate to first.

      • with the data on the SD card, it possible to move the contents from the unit with the app itself or does it only allow you to view the recording?

        • You can download each recording from the SD card, to your device running the app. It also has an option to easily select just a specific portion of the video and only download that.

There does not appear to be an option to download or move the entire SD contents within the app.

Can you use the code - ggreo3f42au - for 3% off, only $5, but discount is discount

  • Thanks op, bought one

  • Ordered one also

  • Thanks bought one although I am not sure if should have gone with the wifi with ethernet connection or just the POE one. I think the wifi one has some feature which is missing in POE version.

Now I have to wait for a deal on the cameras and some other electrical work, so that I can call an electrician to set it all up.

This is the best video doorbell I’ve tried. For reference I’ve owned the Ring, Google, Eufy and a cheapo Bunnings one. Not sure if it’s because I have the reolink NVR or whether it’s because I went for the POE version but this sends near instantaneous notifications. The field of view is awesome as well. Highly recommended.

    • I wish the FOV was taller though. My front door has stairs right in front so I'm going to have to 3d print a mount with more of a down angle.

      • Yeah that's an issue I'm facing too. I need it aimed lower to catch parcels left on the ground.

    REOEASTER4U gives you $9 off

  • Any know if this would work if used with a swann nvr ?

    • as long as it can add cameras with RTSP, RTMP, ONVIF i dont see why not

  • Annoyed at ozb wouldnt let me post this with a coupon deal on the Thursday when I found out it was back in stock, being L plate or some dumb restriction. Tried posting on forums but mod removed my post to.

Managed to pick one up and got confirmation shipped yesterday.

  • What is the size of this doorbell?
Is it big and chunky/ugly like the Ring or Nest ?

  • Hmm, the Amazon US price you quoted that's before shipping and GST? It's coming up with ~$163 AUD delivered.

With bonechiller's coupon only $7-8 diference and dont have to stuff around with an adaptor!
