To save more money for you Melbourne people, Frankly3dprinting in Melbourne is carrying filament from the same supplier as P3D, With lots of customers asking for cheaper shipping options, this store should help lower prices for the Melbourne area and reduce transport times by 3-5 days for SA WA and NT.

NOTE: P3D is still opening and its here to stay, P3D makes no money off this store its purely an alternative or a full replacement for people outside NSW to make filament more accessible. F3DP will be stocking identical colors and materials to P3D with their collection growing over the next few months.

5% off on orders containing more then 5 spools (Just add to cart)

Benefits of the store include cheaper and faster shipping in VIC also allowing you to pickup at no extra cost.
Out of Stock filaments on P3D may be instock in the Melbourne store.
Same day dispatch on orders placed before 5pm with AUSPOST, Couriers please and sendle

Pricing for rolls is a smudge higher (around 1-2$) then SYD due to the extra road freight cost of getting the filament from China to Melbourne but the savings in shipping costs and time should make up for the slightly higher price.

The ABS and PLA are from P3D and Frankly3dprinting carries Shiny PLA which also does come from the same factory as P3D but I do not yet stock that material.

  • For anyone curious pick up is in North Bendigo

  • Is the Ender 3 still a good pick for those getting into 3d printing? I've been eyeing off a cheap second-hand model for making small prints.

    • +1

Yes, lots of community support for that printer. It's a solid starter.

    • Ender 3s are more than capable and are decent starter printers, when they do break however they continually go downhill from there.

With ender 3s stock you can do pla and a touch of petg anything more will require modifications or upgrade

      • What would you recommend after the Ender 3?

        • +2

We have a prusa and that's been great

        • +1

A lot people including ourselves build Voron printers but the Bambulab P1P and X1C are both solid options
if you're after an easy click and print experiance. Prusa is also solid as mentioned but are expensive for what they are locally here in Australia.

    • Shameless plug, here's something I did with an ender 3v2, quite a lot of post processing though. https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/78/1a/13/93/b0/cacf95ce-6…

  • What's the actual brand of filament?

    • +2

It's made by a factory we have partnered with and have set out specifications and expections with.
So I guess you could say it is our Brand.

  • I like the filament I ordered from P3D store, tried the matte PLA and CF PETG, both printed great.

  • Saw the link to the store from P3D and was excited when matte black pla was in stock but disappointed that the price was higher, especially with shipping to Brisbane it’s hard to justify.

    • I had a look on our backend and for Mattle Black PLA + Shipping we actually come out cheaper especially with the 5 roll discount.
Also happy to beat anyone elses price for Matte Black PLA that's in stock.

  • I've bought 6 rolls of matte PLA already.
Tried the black and it's come out minty af. I normally buy eSun PLA+ but didn't dive into matte PLA due to $$ difference.

    • Matte>everything but CF tbh

      • Interestingly I don't like regular PLA but PLA+ has been great. I've used half a roll of the matte black from your store so far and it's been great as well, just need to tune it a little more. I think previously when I looked at buying matte filament it was about $30-$45 per 1kg roll from various brands comparing to the eSun I was buying for $25 I just couldn't commit to such a high price especially when half the time I paint over what I was printing.

I haven't tried CF yet, don't have a need for something like that just yet.

        • 17$ a kg will convert ya in no time! Possibly getting even cheaper 👀
