Whereas I'm relieved that I can't 😁
I'm just trying to figure out if we can still call this a "brother" if it's not black 🤔
That sounds a bit racist
Bought in previous deal in ow for $236. Still $26 less :(
Same. Still a good deal
Only 3 left . Was 8 one min before.
Update: looks like now delivery date window changed from next day to 2-3 days with more stocksThanks op, just bought one.
Bought 1
Nice.
Didn't last long. People here are quick. All 6 sold in like 3 minutes.
Gone in seconds
Gone in 60 seconds
Amazon bot is probably adjusting its price because of that listing in Harris Technology.
That is an insane price, so good.
Back in stock, $299 this time!
Great price. Would have bought it if rba didn't raise intereat rates today.
What , they raised it again?
Yes sir
Nope. Hasn't been a rates rise in years. The Reserve Bank Governor said years ago…"“The Board will not increase the cash rate until actual inflation is sustainably within the 2 to 3 per cent target range. The Board does not expect these conditions to be met until 2024 at the earliest.”
Have I missed something? I don't follow the news.
Are the toners for these expensive?
Yes, toner is TN 253, you need 4.
Officeworks price @ $120 eaSo…ahh…better off buying another printer?
Still cheaper than InkJet ink.
Oem yes. Third party no.
Bought all my replacements from Inkststion for years, work great and far cheaper than OEM.
How does Inkstation toner at $165 set compare to $60-$75 eBay/Amazon set? Is it filled that much more?
No idea, probably the same, will take a look at Amazon ones next time I need some.
Buy each one, weigh them, return the lightest.
lucky i hesitate last deal, brought one this time.
Where did you bring it to
Home office I assume
this deal may sold out before Tomo morning. Will office works give price difference since i bought just few days before.
No duplex printing, scan, or copy
Duplex is best
It does do duplex printing.
Special feature: Auto-Duplex
, scanning i can without, have scanner that never gets used , i do most with phone and straight to email …..
Thanks.
Does anyone have the model number of the next cheapest Brother colour printer that has a scanner, will look out for it when next posted here
i bought a cannon usb 3 scanner for about $110 for those rare occasions phone won’t do ….. and if one item breaks i don’t loose 2 pieces of kit ….
Definitely does duplex printing.
Wow, a little pissed off. Bought it on the 22nd, it only shipped this afternoon then they drop the price an hr after I get the shipping notification.
edit and now back to $330? weird sale or they messed up
Different seller. Amazon OOS
right you are. Find amazon's system weird sometimes when the same link takes you to different sellers.
It is confusing, I bought says from Amazon commercial services which I trust more, now some other seller showing, even at the same price I usually like to buy from Amazon itself.
it went back to 349 as i was adding to cart and cleaning cart
now it says 249 in the cart..whats happening
Yes and from Amazon AU not Commercial. Must be system automatically adjusting based on location and prices.
It has gone back down to $210.
Same but can't add it to cart
I placed an order after leaving a comment, but it seems like OOS now.
Choice didn't recommend this printer… at all.
Got a really low "print score" at 62% (the main function of a printer!), has very high power use (536w when printing), and won't print if any of cartridges are empty (ie must have every colour cartridge and a black cartridge installed and with ink to print ANY printing). Also has relatively high cartridge costs.
I know its cheap and is tempting, but just posting some of the review points to cool anyone's jets from making a quick decision without research.
Very well pointed out. Having to buy all of the colour toners and the exorbitant costs for them is a huge con for this product.
I wish people would stop quoting choice as if they are any more authoritative than any other review site. It's like a weird relic from before the internet existed. As for this printer, lots of other well-known review sites give it a decent rating (eg 4 out of 5 stars).
I bought one on the amazon deal a week or two back. The print quality is great and I'm comparing it to my work printer which is a brand new high-end enterprise colour laser multifunction. Ironically if you go to the choice review, one of the user reviews says the buttons to press to enable printing when one toner runs out (eg print black when a colour toner is empty). Given how cheap 3rd party toners are, I don't think this is much of an issue anyway.
Obviously as a colour laser it's not designed for (or good at) printing photos, but honestly why would anyone print photos at home when you can print them at a photo kiosk for cents at much higher quality.
Been telling people this. If you want to print your photos. Go to officeworks. Its a few cents. The quality is way better than what you can do with a home colour laser printer.
Where did I say Choice is "any more authoritative than any other review site"?
I simply provided some further information that people might not have access to, other than the potentially paid/biased reviews online.
Choice is independent and can't be bought. Take it or leave it no one is forcing you to accept it.So you're happy with your recent purchase? That's great, congrats. But don't be offended if someone offers information that goes against that opinion.
So Choice reviews are more authoritative because they're "independent and can't be bought" and other reviews are "potentially paid/biased"? Just as I thought.
Anyway, the consensus as far as I can tell is that this printer is fine for a $250 colour laser printer, and the fact that it comes with duplex, wifi/ethernet and a full set of starter toners at this price point is frankly amazing.
I have only printed documents (which is all I will ever print) and the quality is great. Obviously if colour accuracy and photo print quality are important, you shouldn't be looking at the extreme budget end of any printer series.
Bought one. Thank you very much.
How much toner do these printers come with?
Says up to 1000 pages per toner on my box, my black is down to 90% after 2 weeks and I have printed maybe 60-70 sheets. 😅
Well if you got 100 sheets so far that would be bang on, and it doesn't sound like you have counted. Maintenance Information page on the printer admin web interface shows exact count of colour and B&W prints.
Also, toner page estimates are based on a standard print density, so you could have only printed 60-70 pages but higher density than a "standard page".
you get a starter toner usually
Is it OzBargain printer? I saw it deal frequently with the price dropping.
Why is this a good deal.
Got a new HP for basically 0 last year that had like 20 likes on the post.
Yet laser goes off crazy, do you all really print that much to justify going laser.I'm spending like $80 year on ink and free HP officejet pro 9010
Depends on your job. My wife is a teacher and in her first term she has spent $200 on inkjet ink.
Prior to her starting as a teacher an inkjet would have been perfect.
I have injet, Brother A3 mutli thing, colour on it is all blocked up, black is fine because it gets used more.
Keen to go laser because of this.edit, and for kids! Always wanting to print color…lately been sending her up to Kmart/Officeworks.
Ink sucks, quality sucks.
I have an inkjet, but I don't print every week. The ink has dried up. I am printing 1-2 pages every 2 weeks to keep it from drying up but it looks like it's not enough. Now I have to run the nozzle cleanup whenever I want to print. With a laser printer this doesn't happen.
So if I go without printing for 2 years, the laser printer will still work like new and i wouldn't need to replace the cartridges?
If this is really the case then I'm sold.Toners can last for a long time as it uses powder not ink. Google "difference between toners and cartridges". If you're not printing for 2 years then don't buy a printer at all.
The toner is expensive and it did not print so many, comparing the toner in black/white printer.
Brother printers require ALL 4 toners to even print Black/White only. Are there any brands that don’t require all Toners and the quality is similar to Brother? I have all 4 different Brother printers but thinking about changing to another brand.
Back in stock at $249. Thinking I'll try price beat at Officeworks - do they beat Amazon?
They been known to.
Thanks OP. I ordered one and mine arrived today.
Set up was quick and easy, and it seems great so far.
Cheers.
Great price. Wish I could justify one of these.
