Use peanut butter as bait, works really well.

    • Yes, mice love peanut butter but so do ants.

I've found hot gluing a pecan nut in there works very well too.

        Nice!

I've been using peanut butter, but the smaller mice are able to get it off these traps without setting it off. Might have more luck with this method

Kinda like those 50 cents i find on the street sometimes…

    • I use peanut butter and a bucket

      • A bucket, explain?

          • @Ryanek: Thanks, looks good, gonna try it on my garage mice.
"When you wake in the morning you'll either have drowned mice or, if you choose to not kill them, a bucket full of mice."
I don't want a bucket full of mice but if I must have one, they best be drowned I think.
I don't think this will work on my 10 inch roof rats unfortunately!

  • Had a drawn out mouse / rat battle at a factory about 5 years ago. Not a fan of these "break your neck" traps so tried "humane" versions and they're really no better - sometimes the dude inside is physically hurt, all probably have PTSD after they're released, possibly better off dead. I'm generally skeptical of ultrasonic repellers but in a bout of desperation got this from Bunnings a few years ago and it's like magic - no more rodent trespassers. Even left the traps there just in case - never go off. Reviews seem mixed - all I can say is it worked wonders for me.

    • very interesting.. if only it had a battery powered option

Lots of people have anecdotal stories of these working, but I remain highly sceptical, especially in light of videos like this.

There's no evidence to backup claims, other than possibly a temporary effect until rodents become habituated to the sound.

They can however have an impact on people.

They also cause radio interference (which I've also seen affect some times of lighting).

      • Yeah, I was skeptical too, and continue to remain so about these types of devices. I got it in an act of desperation. (People do strange sh!t when they're desperate). I was holding on to the receipt for the inevitable return but….

I'm only saying it seems to work for me in my case. Not sure what the neighbours may have done at the same time that had an effect, or if the rats don't like the colour of the repeller and decided to go elsewhere, or if they saw the receipt from Bunnings and felt sorry for me - I have no idea. But it works for me. YMM and probably will V. I called it magic in my first comment - I'm happy to keep calling it that. If people have a rodent problem and want to try there's always Bunnings great returns policy. (If they get enough returns that may be a good signal for them to can it.)

      • when my ex wife used to nag me it was unpleasant .eventually got used to it and learned to live with it ….think it’s the same with these ultrasonic things …they get used to it ….think psychologists call it immersion therapy or normalization …..exposed long enough you get used to it ….sure it’s the same with mice …..

    • Uh where do you release the mice?

      • +1

I've released them in the bush 20m from the factory, I've released them 2km away in the bush. I've killed some that looked worse for ware and didn't move off well when released.

        • How do you kill them?

        • At 20m you are probably catching the same mice very other night. I remember we had a building manager trap a swooping magpie and he drove an hour out to Sunbury to release it. 2 hours later he got swooped again :D As the crow flies i guess.

Tried several last year using peanut butter, successfully turned bait stations to feeding stations, for mouses, possums, ants, geckos…. ;(

  • If you have a spare $199 I have heard good things about this from my boss in NZ, they deliver to Australia, even sends kill notifications to your smart phone so you can get satisfaction day or night knowing you have eliminated a mouse/rat, does 24 before needing the canister refilled, imagine hooking it up to a soda stream bottle, you would get that up to 2400 or more no problem.

    • Interesting concept but colour me sceptical. "Rodent paste" huh.

  • Need a few of this to lay down traps for Leon. He keeps trying to rescue my Ashley.

  • Maybe just have a cat?

    • Cats are slackers. Get a terrier.

  • Decent deal, if comparing to Bunnings price. Saw this deal at midnight but didn't bite it

  • I mis-read the title as "Easy to Use Snack Traps" and I think I threw up a little bit in my mouth…

  • stainless steel and plastic ….means it’s dishwasher safe …….
