Can you use stock firmware with this screen? (Does the touch automatically work?)
I'm not sure TBH but I don't think so. The touch function uses a 4 or 5 pin aerial connection while the stock board doesn't have this plug so I swapped out my 4.2.7 board for a SKR Mini 3. Bit more of a versatile board.
Thanks for the info. I recently upgraded to 4.2.7 so I will probably pass for now. I dont mind the stock screen but having touch would have been nice!
@TheThoughtFraud: The touch screen has a dual mode function. You hold down the rotary button thing and it will swap between the "fancy" menus or the legacy menu.
I don't really use either. For some reason the "good & fancy" menus don't show all the details while printing that the retro menu does so I just use an app to connect to OctoPi.
@CarlosSpicywein3r: Yep, im using OctoPi as well, so not relying on the screen to much. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
@TheThoughtFraud: No problem. Happy to help.
Thinking about some for my vorons
Running 3x klipper/mainsail setups on an Rpi and wondering how I run something like the hdmi5. Assume it must connect to the pi, but then will the screen automatically update to each printer when I toggle through the mainsail instances?
Or should I just purchase a tft50/70 and do it per printer? Obviously one is far more cost effective hah.
You only need ONE display for you pi to control multiple klipper instances by running Klipper Screen.
check out this: https://klipperscreen.readthedocs.io/en/latest/?h=multiple
which means, pi tft or HDMI5 will all meet your needs.
What works natively with the BTT CB1 and klipperscreen? I tried for ages to get the TFT 7.0 Ver 2.0 to work properly, but had issues which was related to the kernel in the CB1.
Try BTT TFT35 SPI, it works natively with BTT CB1 with the latest CB1 image.
It's on promotion, but just missing from the post.

Any idea how well the BIGTREETECH PI TFT43 v2.0 would mount inside the existing LCD hole in an Ender 5 Plus?
Looking to replace the external Raspberry pi 7" touch screen I'm currently using with Kipper screen for a bit more of a tidy solution - cant seem to find any useful information online around this.
I have the TFT35 on my Ender 3 Pro. SOOOOOO much better than the stock screen.
