I actually got one from Bing Lee @eBay for $13.05 as a plus member.

  • I previously used this deive (256gb version) as a lightweight router storage (used it as a file share). It is slow, about the same speed as an hdd. My recommendation is that use this only as a system image drive to build the OS or use it as PE and store small amount of data inside only.

  • This is great to store your windows bitlocker encryption recovery key and a copy of your password vault etc on your key chain.

I left one of these plugged in to my PC for a few weeks. It runs hot even when not being accessed. It didn't last long.

Yeah I've had 2 of them in the past. One I plugged into my nvidia shield one time (had been used many times before with no problems) and it just didn't detect at all. It had completely failed, couldn't be detected at all, even in drive management. Same thing happened with the second one eventually when plugging into my PC but this time it also cooked the USB interface on the motherboard or something. None of the usb ports worked after that.

Had one plugged into my server for the past… two years? 24/7 uptime more or less. Doesn’t get a huge amount of read/writes but constantly powered.

Personally I found it did a great job dissipating heat etc.

  • The silver "champagne" colour is in stock for an extra $1 ($15)
