I rang them and they shipped me everything but the stuff i wanted/needed. I didn't get any of the x10 lighting kits. Which means the entire shipment is useless to me.
Whoa! Exactly what I feared. I hope SmartHome read this and I hope they realise how many OzBargainers will NEVER buy anything from them in the future if they do this to all of us! Just because we love a bargain doesn't mean we're not cashed up and about to roll out fully blown, top-end, integrated automation in our homes.

They didn't give me an option they shipped half the order and said i would have to pay to ship it back.
That is crazy. A lot of the items on sale are useless unless you get other items to make them work. They should notify what they can or cannot supply and then let you decide what you want to do. When I placed my orders the items showed clearly as "available" and both payments went through. If the system does not adjust stock levels automatically then I think payment should wait until ready to ship. However I did not get too upset because they seemed to be trying to sort out as best they could. Sending half orders without options is not acceptable.
Drunifex, this just isn't good enough. If I get everything I ordered I MAY have enough spare stuff to help you get what you need to build an operational system with the bits & pieces you get from SmartHome. I'll keep you posted but it may be a week until I know because I'm about to go away on holiday. Subscribe to this thread OK, I'll post back here once I find out OK.

Just realised Drunifex is the OP (duh) so I'm guessing he got in before the rest of us… so it's disturbing to find out that even he didn't get everything he ordered even after blowing $500! Sheesh.

Yeah they said something about offering double credit for the money that remains unused or something. They said they were still debating what it will be.
How about they fulfill their orders? double credit of $1 is not going to get us anything. I spent $120 with them, so they'd better cough up all the products or refund the money.
I'm still going to wait to see what happens. They obviously got slammed. However, I am a but annoyed that they didn't properly build their inventory system so that the system would stop over orders.
My order went through midnight friday. Yeah im not overly impressed.
They cannot supply anything I ordered Sat night - got an email- All items were IR.
Phoned this morning and asked about my Sun order because I figured by now they would know what stock is exhausted. This order was all lighting control and they have no bayonet kits.I've told them to cancel both orders and fully refund. I might have been able to put together some screw fitting type system but I've decided the potential for future agro just isn't worth it to me. From what I gather they are not offering partial refunds for items they can't supply, it will be full cancel or some type of credit voucher for partial orders, not sure if that is legal but I'm not prepared to spend more time on this.

Ahhh I just did the guest log in to see my order and it says I got the entire order. I didn't (apparently it hasn't arrived yet). I found out that I didn't get it because I rang them and they told me that I had missed out.
Got confirmation of my order and check as guest login with order number and email, got all 5 items shopped. Great!
Ummm dont think you did :( The guest thing is not reporting what wasn't shipped.

Ahh ok, best wait and see what actually arrives then. I guess I assumed that the number outside the box on the guest login page was the number they shipped - otherwise what would it be? Its not the limit because I got 3 of the things I ordered 3 of which had a limit of 5 etc.
Will be interesting to see what I actually get then. I probably only really need 5 sets of RF<->IR gear, and I must have ordered like about 20 of them lol. I'll be spewing if I don't get any.
It would be classed as bait and switch for sure what they have done by just blindly shipping partial orders without organising something before hand.

Actually it turns out I did get a missed call from them, I only got the last few words of the message something about "screw in globes".
My order hasn't been processed yet, but I just contacted them to try to change it, citing the already partially fulfilled orders of orphaned (and thus useless) items as the reason.
They refused to change my order and said that once it was processed, I would be given options before shipping (and I should as I also typed this in the personal message textbox during checkout).
So here's to hoping they keep their word.

I got my shipment. Alarm clock, computer controller, relays and the screw kits rocked up but none of the other stuff (including the bayonet sets). So I got half my order. Next order will arrive on Monday I assume.
Then they lied to me.
Update: Relief. Received email with extra option of full refund on my order. So while I won't get anything in the end, I'm satisfied with their response.

i was contacted today that my full order was not for filled, they seemed to have gotten hammered over the weekend, i've opted for the refund and they seemed to be quite understanding.
I just received my second order shipment notification. No word from them on partial orders.

Just came back from a quick break to find my delivery. I got the few basic X10 things I ordered but none of the IR Repeaters however I have been offered a refund for them. Not a bad outcome for me in the end as I only ordered a small amount of basic stuff but I do really feel for those others who blew hundreds on massive systems and ended up with a heap of stuff they can't use :(
Unfortunately I couldn't find any of the old surplus stuff from when I bought my original batch from Bunnings a few years ago but I've got everything in boxes/storage at the mo' (building a new house) so I wont know for sure until we move in and I can go through everything properly. I MAY have a few bits and pieces for those who need it but can't promise anyting at this stage sorry. Let me know what you may need though OK and I'll see what I can scratch up & donate.

I received that email today too but they'd better not send out incomplete orders! Depending on what they remove from my order I'd prefer the option of a refund because some items are useless without others.
