Thought my kid broke my Arctis 7 and started looking online. Fixed them but bought this anyway for when the inevitable happens.

These headsets rarely have sales, and this is a good one. Has Bluetooth, USB-C. I got free delivery with Prime but it looks free regardless as even when not logged on it's saying Free International Delivery. I don't have non-Prime account to confirm at checkout.

Local RRP $399.

  • Hmm, I have Prime and it is showing $51 delivery for me.

    • Same for me

    • It's free when you go through to checkout

  • Why does it seem like the 7X never gets reduced. I’m waiting for that to use on my PC and Series X.

    • I imagine it’s because it is the most versatile one.

    • Seeing those now for $291.15 also from Amazon DE via AU.

Who tf pays $400 for this? I wouldn't even pay 240.. is this supposed to be a 'good deal'?

    • +1

You are paying for the simultaneous bluetooth, the mic that does post processing, etc. Niche functionality but if you want to have those features then yes, headsets that have those particular features cost about this much.

      Apple headphones are $800 :-)

    Save money.

Get a good headphone and a mic separately.

Gaming headsets can't get closer to that setup.

    • Suggestions?

      • HD58x (Yes it is open back) + a Cheapo Razer Mic is a good option

        • Headphone - High impedence (one piece of the puzzel determining whether u need an amp to drive it)
        • Mic 1 - Siren Mini goes in sale often - Using one for Work and Gaming - Placed on desk , Pretty reliable)
        • Mic 1 - May be a Cheapo Yeti

If you can drop a fair bit more

        • Hifiman Edision XS is bloody good as the Headphone + This needs an amp IMO. Built in Mobo Sound interface cannot drive it hard enough

Either option can benefit from a bit of software correction

        • Equalizer APO - Windows
        • Wavelet - Android

Heard good things about - Which is a headset

        [MASSDROP X SENNHEISER PC37X GAMING HEADSET] (https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-head…)
Goes on sale every now n then, but not by much

        • Are any of these Wireless?

        • Where's the part where I can save money, by getting a cheaper headset? Well sure ok

          • +1

@808State: Save money as in save a bit more 😂.

            Not save in the process

            • @electroz: Oh haha. This is already plenty for me, diminishing returns and all that.

Audeze Maxwell. A bit heavier but it’s the gold standard for gaming headset. Look up the reviews on YouTube

      • Seem to be well reviewed. Yep good candidate it seems

  • I ordered these in Feb and after 2 months they still couldn't even give me an ETA, so I cancelled.

If you don't mind waiting 3+ months for it, go right ahead. Otherwise steer clear.

    • I ordered these in March, they took payment a few weeks ago in April and Amazon Germany cancelled the order last night.

I'm guessing it's because I got free shipping, but who knows? I'm not keen to try again.

    • Might still be the case - no movement on my order yet :( I cancelled it and ordered 7X which is on sale now also. Will see I guess…

  • good price but will also hold out for the 7X :(

  • If you are on xbox wait for a sale on the 7X. It just works with everything. I ended up "upgrading/sidegrading" to the Arctis Nova 7X from the old Arctis 9X because I wanted 1 headset that would work on PC, PS5 and Xbox and the 7X is fantastic.

The Arctis 9x is a decent xbox headset but got frustrated when pairing it. If I wanted to pair it to an xbox dongle on my pc it would turn on my xbox during the process and my TV from the other room and disrupt whatever TV my girlfriend was watching at the time by switching inputs. I'd rather just move a dongle to the system I want to use.

As for the sound I prefer the 7X as well though for music/general media I use my Sennheiser HD 600's but the 7X is fine for music/media as well but the 9x is no slouch there either.

The 9X is slightly more comfortable my first time trying them out but the ski band strap that makes it feel like you aren't really wearing headphones does stretch over time so I have had to replace it and the 7X is also comfortable.

I like to game with the headset quite loud and I have never had friends complain that their voice echo's back on the 7x but I did have that sometimes on the 9x.

Has anyone actually received these? My order was cancelled by Amazon Germany last night.

    • Anyone know if JB Hi Fi will price match Amazon Germany?

    • My order hadn't moved… was still there this morning but cancelled it myself.

      • Hello all,

I ordered a 7x from Amazon DE via AU on April 10th before this deal popped up.

I hadn't received the headphones so today reached out over Amazon chat and found that my order had been delayed, expected arrival date being 16th June.

If you dont have an estimated shipping date i'd encourage you to check with Amazon

        • I ordered a 7x from Amazon Germany back in January. It took a while with some back and forth with Amazon chat and finally arrived today.
They also tried to charge me the new price when they shipped and not the price from back in January which was solved with amazon chat.

        • Thanks for the info. I have now ordered a 7x through Amazon UK ($282.33). Possibly they all come from the same supply so I don't know if will make any difference to delivery time, it was saying in stock when I ordered yesterday.

  • If anyone is wanting the 7X version, it's dropped in price to $265.91 and ships via Amazon UK: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/773293
