This normally costs $2700? lmao
Aimed at people who smash the buy button when this is $100 off:
https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MWUG2ZA/A/pro-stand?af…Why wait for $100 when you can take interest free terms
Yeah Apple ultra max storage™️
Good price, now I only need to find $1850.
USBC on the next iPhone will be the catalyst for demand, no one wants to stay on lightning.
Didn't know magasafe could transfer files to and from my computer. Or do I need to get a Mac to be able to use the Airdrop feature.
Apple will likely offer two variants - one with a usbc port that only allows slow charging (for EU regulations), and one with the regular lightning port, same as it is now. Thereby deliberately creating a stunted phone specifically to comply with EU regs, to point out the stupidity of the regulation's wording. EU customers will have to import the non-EU-compliant version to get the proper experience.
@eggboi: Not sure where your getting your information from as all the respected Analysts and even some Apple execs are saying the next iPhone will be usbc only.
Apple already uses usbc for the Macs and Ipads with no degradation in performance. They would also be limited in 'slowing' down various usbc connectors, as this could trigger Antitrust action.
- you say usbc ipads have no degradation in performance - wrong. they sell ipads with dismal usb 2.0 speeds over usbc
- they don't have to 'slow down' the usbc connector. if it's the only usbc model, it would be max speed, just like the slow usbc ipad.
- they can't accuse apple of stunting the EU iphone if the only one they can compare it to is non-compliant (lightning), and the EU one conforms to regulations.
@eggboi: I’ve read nothing about mixing geographically different usb types?
Also there’s some mention of slower usb on lower models which appears to breach the EU ruling on type c implementation, can’t wait to see apple roll over, might inspire other jurisdictions to hold them to account?? Right to repair anyone?@revmacca: I agree it's bs, but the current wording of the EU usbc reg means apple is perfectly entitled to put a usbc port on the iphone that does nothing but 5w charging (if they want to protest the regulation).
There is also speculation that apple will do away with the port altogether on non-EU iphones, only allowing wireless charging.. but they would likely kill their sales if they did that.
To be fair , if we talking about lighting cable that iPhone uses with 2.0 usb standard, wireless transfer is way better and easier
@Surfsalot: you*, you might be everything wireless but I am I guess still old school. Even though I have iCloud backups, I still manually backup my phone on the iTunes app on my computer, as well as transfer movies and shows on to the VLC app.
@Surfsalot: All up for wireless and new tech moving forward, but I don't want to give up physical cables for wireless everything. Just like the iPhones in the US where they don't have sim card trays anymore not opposed to e-sim I do have a physical and e-sim/ dual sim, just don't take away something to make room for a "new feature".
@thesmartone1125: Plugging in a lightening cable or ucb-c is no different, I have a 14 pro and 11” iPad Pro.
Imagine using one cable to charge my iPhone and my QCs, what a crazy world
You find $1850 by buying three of these and selling them for $620 profit each.
strange thing to lmao at
This is making my ozbargain hairs stand on end… But having a 13 pro, it really doesn't make sense to spend $2k on a new phone.
There's always that guy that basically says 'I have the X/Y phone of previous generation and i dont need to upgrade'.
Bro, you paid 1.5k 1.5 years ago, we know that you dont need to upgrade. Does it really need to be said or you just seeking confirmation?
PS i have the 13 pro max here an i dont need to upgrade to the 14 pro max too. /sI'm still using my XS which I bought for $1392 in December 2018!
Already gone cannot add item to the cart
Black is still in stock…?
Not anymore
Gone, can't see that price…
Deal is def done…
Thanks OP was able to get one. 👍
Great deal.
And it’s gone.
Deal was gone in 60 seconds…
Why so much demand/fomo for a $10k Rolex Daytona watch? Will keep my Seiko speed timer I paid $500 for 2 years ago.
Rolex are stupid too. There's actual craftsmanship involved with them though.
If you have to use Rolex to justify this then you're proving my point
I am just asking a question. I am not trying to justify or prove anything
@illusion99: Because people are dumb and have a compulsive need to burn their money? They probably have disposable cash from not being able to afford a house/having a mortgage
@Jimmy77: How did a dumb person afford a $10k watch? Ah you answered. Good answer
@illusion99: You're aware most of them vote for the antiscientific dead plant burning conservative christian party? Of course most of them are dumb. In what world do you have to be smart to be rich? The timepiece is a status symbol amongst boomers much like diamonds. Chimps collect shiny things too. Useless shiny items.
Seems zoomers are trying to make gpu's and smartphones their own status symbol lol
@Jimmy77: No I wasn’t aware. That’s why I asked questions. So I can learn from you. You are wise
@illusion99: Good. Now you can stop paying double for tech
@Jimmy77: Why did you think I pay double for tech? I have a note 9 that I bought 2 years ago
@Jimmy77: You have to be relatively smart to be rich.
@illusion99: The funny thing is, a Daytona is not $10k. I wish
You are likely not the target market, or too woke for consumerism.
@Metre: Marxists don't pay $2k for phones.
@pharcyde: Is it a phone or is it a computer that happens to make calls?
@illusion99: Your life don’t depend on computers, i would say otherwise about phones these days. Hence $2k++
@Metre: Oh I’m not questioning prices. I am questioning language and definitions. Should a smart phone be called a phone when the functionality of making/receiving calls is hardly ever used these days?
@illusion99: It’s convenient for sure, just as the first Motorola bricks came out in the 90s. Convenience is a hefty surcharge in the capitalism world we live in.
@Metre: Huh? I’m not sure we are in the same conversation lol. What does conveniences have to do with definition of a phone
@illusion99: If it takes a sim and make calls, what else do you call it? What conversation are we having on Ozbargain? Lol
@Metre: My computer can also make calls to both mobiles and other computers but nobody calls that a phone.
My old school landline doesn’t take a sim but people still call that a phone.
@illusion99: You’re correct
@pharcyde: Unless your at the top of the Marxist food chair - then it's far too cheap :-D
Rolex's have a much higher chance of actually appreciating in value over time though. I don't think you can compare an asset to something that will devalue and eventually be worth $0 after you open it.
Unless of course you never open the iPhone, unopened iPhones can go for a lot of money down the line. I bet someone out there will pay thousands for an unopened original iPhone.
Where is the $10k Daytona?
When you check trade-in value, you can find the value of Galaxy note 9 top model is nil but Iphone XS base model launched in same year is still worth $170
lmao
Only reason to buy this is to try flip lol
Bet will see them on FB & scumtree very soon!
Are people shopping there gonna be looking at $2000 phones?
No. But it doesn't stop people buying them and listing them lol
Lots of previous Ozbargain deals on there, just sitting for months/years lol
Congrats to anyone who managed to nab this! An actual rare bargain on a recently released iPhone for once and would have been a nice upgrade from my XS
I wouldn't call it recent though…been 7 months since it's launch.
Galaxy S23 Ultra superiority effect for the drop in iPhone value?
Maybe the USB-C standardisation making the proprietary inferiior connectivity the unwanted tech.Hello hater
I'm a s21 user and even I seriously doubt that. Apparently their sales are shockingly down ever since their lost the Chinese market. Even Indian market cant help them from the shrinking sales and India market itself has slowed.
Galaxy S23 Ultra superiority effect for the drop in iPhone value?
What superiority? That's purely opinion. In my subjective opinion, Pixel 7 Pro > iPhone 14 Pro Max > Galaxy S23 Ultra. Doesn't mean I build an objective superiority complex over the Pixel.
Maybe the USB-C standardisation making the proprietary inferiior connectivity the unwanted tech.
Lol. This is only a thing that people on Reddit and forums like Ozbargain care about. The vast majority of consumers do not care about having an extra type of cable enough for it to make it inferior or unwanted in any way.
WTF?
A phone is on sale.
Just get an iPhone 15 when it comes out. It'll have USB-C and hopefully the better connectivity that could come with it, assuming they keep at least feature parity. With Lightning, you had to get an adapter that ran its own OS just to create a display signal from USB. If it's USB-C I'm hoping it'll have native DisplayPort alt-mode.
you are expecting too much from apple
heard the news Apple's usbc is not common one that still needs hardware certificate or something. So maybe it's just another 'lighting' interface in usbc shape. Apple always does a good job in closed ecosystem.
Yep, but iPad isn't like that. You can still use any display adapter. So hopefully iPhone will be the same. It doesn't make much sense to lock it down, and it also creates issues for people. Hopefully Apple won't do that.
Just get an iPhone 15 when it comes out. It'll have USB-C and hopefully the better connectivity that could come with it
Is that a shock? Seems pretty standard practice for Apple. The 11 Pro still has features the base 14 doesn't.
Not a shock to me, but to the person I responded to, perhaps.
This would be the once in a blue moon deal. Gone in less than one minute
This will be the price after 2 months release of iPhone 15 from officeworks.
Cue the android super rabid fanboys
Hell hath no wrath like a Android fanboy or Povertybrah scorned
When worked issued me an android phone. I ask the android fanboys how to adjust certain setting, no one ever could give me answers. Quite funny. Maybe it's the OS or just stupid users
The irony that you talk about stupid users and your sentence barely makes sense…
Do you mean "When work issued me…" ?
@Ruddaga: yes
what a bargain… !
So cheap, bought 2
Lol a genuine bargain (considering discount from RRP) and most are arguing still about price vs other competing products.
Can’t compare Apples and Oranges.
Whilst I understand it was certainly a bargain, what baffles me is why someone would need so much storage?
P0rn
Stress free. You can keep this phone for years without ever worrying about storage.
Photogaphy/videography. It's a niche scenario, but 4K high bitrate video can definitely chew up storage space fast.
The best bargain consider the rrp off
Missed it as I am looking to upgrade my 11pro.
I could have got this was in stock but had the maxs for last 2 iPhones, but just got a new 14 pro 256gb for $1K cash 6 weeks ago, enjoying the smaller size.
256gb 14 pro for $1k very interested in how you managed that
Was on FBM, actually knew of the guy as it turned out, had $1200 on it offered $1k he took it. Got lucky.

Not sure it’s a price match. Could be a price error? Big drop for an iPhone
