  • Just here for to see those who convert now lol

Amazon, eBay, ShopBack Super Swap or Uber Eats Gift

    btw

    • 50% cashback on gift cards, what's there to think?

      • +1

        But the monthly fees!

Also based on the last participation it seems there are already 4k accounts opt in.

        • Sign up as a student

        • …which are easily bypassed. Transfer in, wait a day, transfer out. Simples.

          • +1

            @KangaDrew: wait 2 seconds.

            • @Yola: Yeah there's that too. I have mine set up as automated payments which is why I said wait a day. I only do that because I never know what time the money will hit each account and don't want to get slugged overdraft fees. So I just allow for some buffer to cover possible downtime, IT incidents etc.

          • @KangaDrew: In and out via PayID and Osko. No need to wait.

            • @delfredo: So you can transfer 2k in with pay ID at once then instantly transfer it back out?

              • @ChillBro: PayID and Osko are 2 platforms with immediate transfers. So you can use one for inward, then once done, use another for outward. Takes 2 minutes of your time.

Of course this is subject to your financial institution supporting the above 2 platforms. You can check for Osko here:

                https://osko.com.au/osko-your-bank

                • +1

@delfredo: a little bit annoying that ING has a 1k daily PayID limit :/

                  • @CVonC: Another option is to schedule recurring transfers, hopefully through Osko so that you are not limited to $1K and get the funds transferred immediately. Once it reaches Westpac, do a PayID out back to your other bank's account.

    Amazon: $15 Bonus ($20 Cap)
    How?

    • +2

Yeah i'm only seeing 15% in the app, not $15

      • It seems the post was just updated, spend $350 on Amazon through a challenge.

    • +2

OP made a mistake when adding the $5 for gift card. Its 15% cashback per the description.

      • Got it, I see it in the app. Hooray. Need to check the categories…

  • Does anyone know if the whole amount needs to be on the Westpac card to get 15%? Could I do gift card + Westpac card?

    • +7

brb omw to specsavers to find some glasses for some people :)

short answer: yes, partial payment is ok!

      • payment using all gift cards = not ok
      • payment using gift card + westpac card = ok
      • payment using westpac card fully = ok
      • +2
        • excluding 0% categories
        • -3

That's already a given, people should already know (unless they are new to SB/CR) that 0% categories are excluded from cashback whether there is a bonus rate or not

      • Thanks I Smell Pennies. Do you also know if this is the case with all Westpac deals or is it different with each store?

        • +1

No worries. SB rep @gotyourback said that it differs from store to store. AFAIK, eBay and Amazon allows it

        • +3

@I Smell Pennies is on it mate, yeah eBay and Amazon are set up in a way that gift card payment fully stacks with Cashback, meaning the full amount paid for by gift card will track as the purchase amount. This means that the Bonus amount on top will stack just fine so long as am eligible linked Westpac card is partially used as well. Other stores may have purchases made using gift cards excluded from Cashback entirely, or have the amount paid for by gift card deducted from the purchase amount which would also impact the Bonus amount, so best to check each store's terms to be sure, or reach out to me if it's unclear.

          • @gotyourback: hi gotyourback,
bought a $10 super swap card for this promo. however today the challenge shows as failed. the cashback of $0.2 is still showing as pending. where should i get help for this please?

            • @tofu: Shoot me a DM, I'll gladly take a look as soon as I'm able (inbox looking a bit full but I'll get to you ASAP).

Bonus for one transaction only per account. I wish it was one per gift card

    • This is why you need multiple Westpac transaction accounts, each with their own debit card

      • that's not enough, you need multiple ShopBack accounts too.

        • Multiple shopback accounts for 1 person is volating their T&C.
Should i take the risk? lol.

          • @CyrusL: It's against T&C for several other apps and services :D my advice, neah, not worth it. too many cashbacks and accounts to track is messy.

          • +1

@CyrusL: the importance of family :)

  • SB also has Bonus CB for Apple

  • SB hitting CR for six with the deals lately.

It's unfortunate Pantry isn't included for Amazon.

    • -3

Pantry is boring. We want fresh landfill, not digestibles (flushables?)

    • +3

I don't know why you were negged . More than true . CR not even in the game . 95% of my cashback is on SB nowadays vs the past where tehy had most a few year ago .

Bought $10 Amazon but out only tracked for $0.20

Is there an issue, 100% on Westpac card

  • Purchased 10 dollar superswap, 5 dollar bonus cashback did not track while 0.20 regular cashback tracked.

    What's the deal?

Should be separate deals to make it clearer . It is a bit confusing .
Too much of a battle at midnight of who gets it up 1st not caring about presentation.

eg even my vote is for the $5 bonus . I can't find anything on AMZ for me except for in the 0 categories .

    • It comes separately, a little while after.

      • Thanks Hamza. It just came :)

    • sometimes takes the westpac tracking a little longer

  • +1

Haven't been following, which Westpac account/card should we get that has the least fees? Thanks

  • Westpac ID verification online or do we have to go into branch?

    • No problem, unless your details have been leaked to the dark web

  • I got $10 super swap, the 2% cashback is tracked but not the bonus $5. Its still showing as "start"…is this correct?

    • Your bonus will track real soon

    • $5 bonus tracked now!

  • 0% on computers

Damn. Ram is about the only thing I need atm

  • +1

Any way to pick how much GC to use in an Amazon transaction when you have a higher GC balance than what you are buying?

    • No, Just open another AMZ ac .

    • +1

Someone somewhere once suggested to place orders where the 'Ships From' and 'Sold By' is from Amazon AU, to use up your Amazon Balance. Then, cancel it later to get a refund. I haven't tried this myself, but maybe you can (or others who have tried it can chip in their suggestions about the experience) …

  • +1

My advice is just to buy your $10 Amazon, eBay card straight.
Who wants to `^ around with a $10 swap card .

  • What category would a camera tripod fall under?

    • If your tripod is falling maybe it's not a good one :)

For the category, go to the desktop version (not mobile) of the item listing and it should be the category name in bold on the top left.

      • Haha, ye on Amazon the category goes Electronics - Camera & Photo - Tripods & Monopods.

But Shopback has 1.4% for Electronics and 0% for Camera, Camera Bags, Binoculars.

I'm just going to assume it falls under the latter and not be eligible for the 15% bonus cashback.

    • Category 2? (126-164 km/h)

      • Haha didn't realise when I asked the question that it would be interpreted in different ways.

  • -1

Sorry, I'm confused. Could someone please explain what's gotten people so excited over the gift card deal as it seems pretty insignificant?

Receive $5 bonus Cashback from ShopBack when you spend $10 or more

To me this sounds like if you regardless if you spend $20 / 50 / 100 on gift cards, you'll only get $5? Of course $5 is still money but is that all there is to it? Or am I missing something?

    TIA

    • You just buy a $10 voucher.

    • Cumulative free $25 if you were already going to buy things from Amazon basically - or 15% off whatever item you were looking at under $133

  • So how does this work? I just pay amazon order with my westpac debit card libked to shopback and get 15% cashback? Up to $20

There was 50% off chemist warehouse cashback for westpav shopback months ago and i spent $20, it only gave me $0.20 cash back rather then $10

    • I used a Cotton on promo same terms and ended up with 50c Ford Socks and Bieber caps and my multiple around $10 turned up fine .

    • Are you sure? The standard cashback and the bonus cashback gets tracked separately. Also the bonus cashback takes a while to be tracked and appear on your pending list

      • the deal was "https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/751061"

I ordered on 14/1/2023 and click and collected on 16/1/2023. Not sure if that makes a difference

        • And you charged the $20 to the westpac debit card?

          • @outlander: yah i did, however i click and collected 2 days later if that mattered, the cashback period was for a 24hr period, but the order was made and charged in the 24 hr period

            • +1

@zorodluffy: Shouldn't matter if you do C&C after promo. Reach out to gotyourback on OzB or you can make a claim on ShopBack

  • -2

I gotta open this stupid Westpac account now.

  • +1

Thanks OP. 20c tracked immediately on gift card, still waiting for $5 bonus
Edit: couple minutes later, bonus is confirmed 👌

  • To those that have placed Amazon orders, have you had your regular cashback tracked? I know that the regular cashback takes a few days to track, but the strange thing for me is, the Westpac bonus tracked but the amount is incorrect, i.e., it is less than what it is supposed to be. Any thoughts or ideas?

    • I assume you have catered for the gst as well? how much exactly were you expecting and how much has tracked?

      • I have, yes. Expected Westpac bonus (15%) is $3.52, but $0.54 has been tracked.

I ordered a physical book for $23.44. I can’t figure out how and why $0.54 was tracked.

        • it could be your standard cb from amazon. The bonus cb takes a while to track. Does the description say westpac bonus cashback or Amazon australia in your cashback details?

          • @nokia3660: It says ‘Westpac Bonus’. The standard cashback (1.40%) would be $0.33, and that is not taking GST into account. Taking GST, it would be even less. Weird, eh?

            • @Nelumbo: weird indeed. I'd still suggest to give it a day or two and hit up GYB to sort this out. BTW has your normal cb tracked as well?

              • @nokia3660: No, it hasn't. I am hoping everything sorts itself out in a few days. Otherwise, I will have to contact one of the store reps.

                • @Nelumbo: Was your cart empty by any chance? or an old shopback session from before midnight? 54c is around 2% which is the normal rate.

              • +1

                @nokia3660: It tracked today :)

  • I bought some gift cards from shopback but can't redeem till 48 hours after purchase. It wasn't like that before.
