Items/Categories that receive 0% Cashback will not receive Bonus Cashback.

gamble games starts. Amazon category is something really confusing.

Also I wonder partially use gift card is eligible for westpact 10% cashback?

      • +2

Gotyourback please clarify if partially use giftcard is still eligible for Westpac 10% cashback. Need to find some ways to use the Amazon giftcards bought in previous deals! Thanks

      • +1

Same here please clarify if partial payment with gift card will track the full amount.

        • @gotyourback what's the go mate?

          • +4

@czd: Hey mates, partial payment using gift card is fine for Amazon, so long as an eligible linked Westpac card is used for part of the purchase. The full reported transaction amount will be what the Bonus is based on, not just the portion paid for using your Westpac card. This is only the case for eBay and Amazon, where gift cards are stackable, other merchants will have their own terms (some merchants will invalidate all Cashback where a gift card is used even partially, others will deduct the amount paid for by gift card from the transaction amount), but for Amazon you're all good.

            @uwuwu @asx100 FYI also

            • @gotyourback: I just purchased something and received email for the westpac bonus cashback on only the part paid by card, not gift cards (Ebay).

Will this be updated later in the week to be the entire amount for my order?

              • @PotatoCakes: Any update on this? How did you go?

                • @Evoque10: It is currently sitting higher than the amount I spent on my Westpac card but less than the $20 cap which I should have hit.

So they are giving cashback even on the portion spent via GC but may not be correct amount at first. I read somewhere else it may take a week to reflect properly…so will wait and check back later if its still wrong.

  • +1

GYB! You are the hard working person! You should have higher bonus at the end of year.

    • +2

Just trying to hold a candle to the bargain hunters on here!

  • Spend 50 at adidas?? (In app)
    Happy new year GYB:)

    • +1

Yeah, unsure about that, sorry for the confusion! It's definitely an Amazon bonus, but I'll get it looked at ASAP.

    • +1

I've edited it, should be right now.

  • +1

Not seeing the 10% westpac bonus?

    • +1

      Neither. Only the $5 bonus.

      • +1

Hmm, I can definitely see it on the Westpac tab on desktop, but seems like it might not yet be displaying in the Lounge on mobile. Will get that looked at ASAP mate.

        • It's only an issue on the app. I can see it via a desktop browser.

        • I can’t see it on the desktop, still says 2%

          • @roofyapple: Hey mate, all should be fixed up now, can see it on my end in the app.

  • +1

It says $50 at Adidas on the app

  • For non westpac customers, can we use this to buy a gift card from the amazon website and still get the bonus?

    • same Q

    • +1

Hey mate, Amazon say that Cashback is ineligible for purchases of gift cards via their website, so I'd avoid.

      • If however paying by gift card, it appears there is no option to allow for specifying amount paid by gift card. So when the gift card balance exceeds the order total, there is no way to at least pay some with Westpac card, negating qualifying for this deal.

        • +1

But you can pay for the total order on Westpac, so you have to choose which discount to get. Here eBay was better because if you had several GC loaded, you could pick which one to use.

  • +1

Why does the app say you need to spend $50 at Adidas for an Amazon promotion? Someone stuffed up

  • Finally, can earn bonus even if the item is ineligible for cashback. That’s a nice 10% off. can we add multiple items on cart and checkout at once to earn the bonus ?

    • Hey mate, the 10% Bonus is only applicable on items that are eligible for Cashback I'm afraid, but the $5 Bonus on a $50 spend is available for all categories. Multiple items is not a problem mate, the order amount as a whole will be tracked for any bonus amounts.

  • +1

It says Spend $50 at adidas fyi on the description for the challenge

  • Hello OP, are robotic vaccum cleaners eligible for this westpac bonus cashback ?

    • +1

Hey mate, looks like most are categorised as "Home" or "Kitchen and Dining" on their end, which are both 0% Cashback categories this month I'm afraid.

  • +1

anyone know any cashback deals for kogan?

  • +2

Only see 2%Amazon (expires in 4 days)

    • Same here

  • Appreciate the deals lately mate.

Can I suggest adding a function to calculate cashback for Amazon within the app? The categories are hard or impossible to identify most of the times.

    • +1

I hear you, mate, will pass it on to our team. If you ever need help identifying the category for an item I'm happy to take a look, Generally it'll be listed in the top left (under the Amazon logo) when you've clicked to the item's page on desktop, it's a bit more of a dig on mobile but it's listed below the product information table typically.

  • Dem 0% categories are still 0%. That's ok, but the upvotes missed this i reckon

  • I just spent $50 at Adidias but can't see my bonus Amazon cashback..

    • You need to either spend $50 on Adidas products from Amazon
      Or
$50 on Amazon gift cards from Adidas

  • +13

To make it easier for everyone, these are the current 0% categories which are excluded for the Westpac 10% bonus:

    • Pantry Food & Drinks
    • Physical Books
    • Video Games
    • DVD & Blu-Ray
    • Physical Music (Includes CDs, Records, Cassette Tapes)
    • Beauty (Includes Haircare & Hair Styling, Makeup, Fragrances, Manicures)
    • Home (Includes Bed Bath, Decor, Storage & Organisation, Heaters, Fans, Vacuum Cleaners, Mattresses )
    • Home Improvement ( Includes Kitchen & Bath, Electrical, Smart Lights, Fans, Hardware )
    • Pet Food & Supplies
    • Health, Household Products (Includes Laundry, Supplement, Cleaning Supplies)
    • Baby (Includes Strollers, Car Seats, Car Seats, Safety Equipment)
    • Office Products
    • Electronics (Includes Bluetooth Speakers, Headphones, Speakers)
    • Alcohol (Includes Wine, Beer & Spirits, Pre-Mixed Drinks)
    • Kitchen & Dining
    • Toys (Includes Baby Toys)
    • Software
    • Mobile Phones & Wearable Tech (Includes Smartwatches, Fitness Trackers, Dashcams, Tablets, Navigation)
    • Kindle e-reader, Kindle e-book, Kindle Accessories, Kindle Unlimited ( subscription )
    • Video Games Consoles & Accessory
    • Cheers brandogs

      • +2

Can’t find the 10% challenge from Westpac lounge, only the 2% Amazon cashback

Do I need to start the challenge or it is upsize to 10% now?

        • +1

It's upsized from midnight, it's viewable via desktop currently, however just not reflecting via the app presently. I've flagged with the team who will get that chased up ASAP.

      • Hey mate can you please confirm what monitor light bars fall under? (Does it have cashback)
        Cheers.

        • Hey thousandsuns, having a look it looks like most are categorised as "Home" or "Home Improvement" which are both 0% Cashback categories for this month, I'm afraid.

          • @gotyourback: Thanks for the reply, mate.
The monitor bar I'm looking at is the Ben Q Halo Light Bar ($249) which shows in Amazon desktop site as under computing. Does this qualify as an eligible item? Just want to confirm before I buy. Thanks much.

            • @thousandsuns: Hey mate, from my end that looks to be right, should come under Computers for 1.7% + 10% Bonus from Westpac

      • What is the difference between hardware and hardware tools?

        • Hardware is the screw, hardware tools is the screwdriver

        • If you're struggling with your item and unsure if it's included or excluded you can also go by this list which tells you all the included categories for the Westpac 10% bonus

    • The true mvp

    • Is mouse mat under computing 1.4% category or under electronic? on amazon it is under electronic.

      • +2

You have to use the desktop Amazon website to determine the category. Search for your item, click on the listing, then in the top left corner there should be a category that's bolded

        Screenshot

        • It says under electronic, so it will be zero cashback?

  • +5

Can you confirm if partial payment with gift cards is eligible for 10% Bonus cashback?

  • ahh, another site that wants my credit card info …. getting data sprawl fatigue after the optus and medibank and my deals info leaks ….

    • Must be late to the club

  • +1

So…are we good to go using the mobile app then forteh Westpac discount?
Are giftcards usable? Want to buy a 2TB NVME drive

    • Did the whole amount through the Westpac card….lets see how it tracks
Use gift cards to buy the kids Crunchy Peanut Butter :)

Can you use more than once?

      • Can use more than once mate, there might be a delay in your earlier purchase due to some issues we had on the back end, but all purchases from midnight until morning should be sorted and tracking by midnight this eve.

  • I've just activated a cashback offer on the app and have already placed an order, but now I am not sure if it's this deal or the one I was actually after, this one. It's weird both deals went online around the same time, and both deals have errors initially (Adidas?). It's all confusing.

    • Has yours tracked yet?

  • Tidy bonus, and at least this will be honoured, unlike the eBay deals where orders get predictably cancelled like mine last night. Take my money Amazon!

  • So would this be 10% (capped at $20) on-top of a 7% cashback category i.e sports?

    • That's correct mate

      • is the Westpac $20 cap per account or per transaction?

        • Per transaction for this one!

  • Purchased at 1230am but it still hasn’t tracked? Bit concerning.

    • Did you buy from Adidas or Amazon or buy Adidas products via Amazon?

      • Lmao. Unfortunately just Amazon products from Amazon.

    • Hey mate, we're facing a bit of a delay due to some back-end issues this morning, but all purchases from midnight to the morning should be fixed up and tracking by midnight this eve.

  • +4

In westpac lounge now but it says 2% bonus cash back?

    • +1

      Same, displaying as 2% now.

  • I can see a banner on the desktop that says 10%, but when I click through, it says up to 7%.
No banner on iphone app, nothing to indicate 10% anywhere.
Critically, on click through it just has the standard up to 7%, which I suppose is where any gotcha would be hiding…
Maybe try again tomorrow, when your developers are working…

    • Hey mate, all's fixed up now, and any eligible purchases made after midnight will have the Bonus tracked and added.

  • 2%?

  • for the 'all category' deal, does it mean i can buy gift cards?

    • +1

Dumb qs. Please read original post 🤦‍♂️

  • These Shopback & Westpac deals seem better than the CR & ANZ bonus few % offers once were.

    • One of the best thing about CR, ANZ max was 14 day redemption time

  • -3

    Is anyone actually seeing this?

  • What to buy, what to buy…

  • With amazon's weird categories, even SB/CR cannot tell one that one item is actually going to be eligible. So prepare for the worst $5 only, it's really stupid of amazon categories.

    • +4

Use CamelCamelCamel to confirm the exact category. It tells you at the bottom of the listing.

      • +1

Mate that is genius, never realised it. This protip should be pinned! Thanks much have a blessed day champ!

      • So camelcamelcamel says
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09ZV7BJ26/ (bought in past thinking its under accessories, as the amazon says "Electronics›Mobile Phones & Communication›Accessories›Styli" it was rejected)

        is under
Product group > Personal Computer ?
when the category no where mentions personal computer. Well done to amazon categories.

  • Does anybody know how to split payments with gift cards and WP card if your gift card balance is already higher than the purchase amount for the item? I would assume it's impossible?

    • Are you even sure split paying will honour WP’s cashback? Even if just a fraction of the transaction which was specifically paid via WP?

    • I don’t think you can because the gift card balance is applied in full

    • same thing with me, hoping to split but don't think I can - still works out better to use Westpac I guess

edit: I bought a few things and one of them will be dispatched in 3 weeks - the amount of this item deducted on my Westpac card, so I was able to apply gift card to whatever was remaining

  • +1

Amazon doesn’t charge my Westpac card until the item is shipped, which could be in a week. Would that cause any cashback tracking problems?

    • same here was wondering if this would be an issue as well
