@Clear: Well this whole post has got me on a whole Google fest on how to add a carppay tablet to the car and have it still look nice, charge the phone and the tablet, that kinda thing.
Looks like it's possible to do it kinda ok if you find the right parts and tie down cables

Yeah 4GB RAM in a new device is pretty concerning… I doubt it would be able to keep 2 apps running at once
for the purposes of this $100 or $99 piece of old tech, 2 gigs ram is more than adequate
@paloverde88: The minimum system requirements for Android 12 are 6GB of RAM. Also just because it was released in 2021 doesn't mean that software performance will magically scale backwards to meet this under performing device. That's not at all how any of this works.
@Ezekiel2320: They didn't say that it will be performant. They just said "4GB is fine for a $99 device", or "$99 is fair price for a 4GB device" which I agree.
@bio: in America, 4 gigs items are stacked together with lettuce tomatoes and radish section. You cannot be serious in 2023 still churning vegetables like this. What an insult to charge $100 for a vegetable or a vegetable that's becoming one. Surely the Germans do not pay 99 euros for this piece of plastic and glass
@GrueHunter: Just because KFC wings are $6 for 4 here does not mean it is 2 euros in Germany, indeed it is 6 euros in Germany they don't reduce to match the Australia equivalent so 99 euros is bargain basement in Germany 49 euros is toilet paper
@Ezekiel2320: I have one of these and I used the Lenovo rescue procedure to image it to Android 12. Working fine with the 4GB including simple games.

That's strange - my phone has Android 12, and literally zooms along with its 4GB of RAM.
Perhaps it is not aware of its limitations.
My 5yo uses one running Kids mode, plays YouTube and Minecraft fine.
I paid $200 and still think it was pretty good value..
Same, my kids use one bought for $200, seems robust/quick/nice enough for their use. Will try to source another.
I just picked up on my way to work so still in the box.
The manager was so nice at the store. He saw I had 2 at the checkout and asked whether I’d like any more as they were a good price. I told him they’re advertised on the internet and you’ll have plenty of people coming to look for them.

I use mine for work. Videos and browser all works well. It had recent updates later than I thought it would.
Only problem I've had is the SD card won't read seems to be common. Have been meaning to return it.Could it do a teams video chat?
To be honest I haven't tried. Can't imagine the camera is any good. I also forgot to mention the battery life is not the best.

The battery life will be worse than a Kindle. The screen is a subjective matter (I find e-ink displays much superior for reading).
I winder id this is any better at being used as a 2nd display on my Macbook.I tried a few budget android apps on my 6 year old 8in galaxy tablet, but no luck so I obtained a refund.
I want to have it above my synth so I can see/control all the volume levels on my music.
If you're using a monitor with Mac it's often a good idea to use this app if the scaling or quality is off. I'm not sure if it'll detect an Android tab being used as a display though.
Great price. I use it in the car as an Android head unit. Also use it for streaming PC and Xbox games with a controller. Great buy at this price!

Looking for something just to play kids music in the car/pram without having to use my phone. Been using an old Nexus 6P but it's on its last legs, do you think this would be any good for this purpose? Basically I just want to play Youtube Music through it.
