Wonder how many are left considering we're in the middle of the promo.

Very expensive shipping and the fuel surcharge is not included in the free $40.

    This deal isn't new btw.

Also, I'm not sure if it's once per person or as many times as you can get it before it expires (1000 claims).

I bought an OEM DVDRW drive and it cost $38 plus a fuel surcharge of about $7. The $38 was waived, but I had to pay the $7 surcharge as well as shipping TO Borderlinx. The drive ended up costing me ~$40 total after the discount.

      As above.

        as above.

        1. You mean you bought exactly the same at the same cost.
        2. Its not a valid neg vote under our guidelines, so if you want it to stand please stick to the guidelines, we did implement them for a reason.
        • As above as in the cost of shipping charged by globaleshop.

Let's see how many ozbargainers think this is a deal.

The thing with this deal is, you are taking a risk. You do not know if the 1000 redemptions have been used up yet, and if they are, your product is stuck with them and you must pay expensive shipping. You can't exactly ask for a refund, since the product isn't in your hands.

There is no way to know how much the shipping will cost before it gets to Borderlinx (Globaleshop). It could be stupendously high, high enough that you don't want it even after the $40 discount. The online estimator is so inaccurate it's beyond useless. And it's impossible to know the dimensions of the box the merchant will ship the item in.

Also, as I said before the fuel surcharge is in addition to the shipping charge and it will not be covered in the free $40. For example, let's say the charge was $25 for shipping plus $10 fuel surcharge. That's a total of $35, but you will only get $25 off and still have to pay $10, even though the total is less than $40.

I have struggled to find good items to peruse their services for. It would either have to be something you can't buy here, or something that's so much cheaper than here that even after paying extra shipping charges it's cheaper than buying locally. BTW, do not expect any warranty if you're buying electronic goods. If the merchant refused to ship to your address in the first place, would they ship an RMA'd replacement to you? Or will you have to go through Borderlinx again to receive it?

I'm not negging the deal, but caveat emptor. The reason I never posted the deal myself is because there's high barriers to entry and it's unreliable.

Don't let the mod stop you from negging. If we think this is not a deal, we should all neg the deal to let everyone know.

You need to pull your head in. I never said or suggested that to anyone.

I even communicated directly to you as well.

    Use the vote correctly.

    as above

isnt and never is a valid reason for a vote.

You obviously didnt even go to the trouble of reading how to use a negative vote.
To make it easier for you here is what it says….

Examples of negative Votes that MAY be removed by a Mod

To assist in understanding, examples will be added here, over time.

    Examples follow…..

    Not a bargain.

    Agree

    SPAM

    I dont like the deal

Its not available to everyone (ie only some)

I dont think its a good deal (Doh thats what the negative vote says - the comment is meant for an explanation of why it is a bad deal)

    “Ditto” “see above” etc. -

Hmmm "see above" is even specifically mentioned

And after your "explanation" below my post which helped others to understand where you were coming from the bloody negative vote wasnt removed.
