I don’t know if it stacks with this, but I’m glad to wait few more weeks to watch the whole 3rd season of Ted Lasso.

    • +2

According to Wikipedia, the last episode will be released on May 31. I think I’ll wait too! Don’t forget you can set a reminder for May 31 on this deal.

    • +5

Doesn’t stack with this offer, I’m currently signed up under that offer and it appears to work at first before giving a “new subscribers only” error.

I think it should work when that month offer ends however.

      • +1

Both offers worked for me. The gap between was <1 day.

        Thanks mate 🍻

Saw the first episode last night… I found the first half confusing (owing to bad story telling / insufficient context). Started to make sense in the second half, but felt the pilot was very much a nothing episode. 2 stars.

Will probs watch episode 2 whilst waiting for Ted Lasso episodes to come out.

  • perfect timing!

I was thinking about singing up to watch Ted Lasso

    • If you are planning on binging from the start, I’d probably wait until all of season 3 is released.

      • its only another couple seasons that could be knocked over in a weekend each

Promo from Jennifer Garner promoting her new show The Last Thing He Told Me

Watched the first episode. Was a snooze fest and eyeroll inducing. Really bad story telling

Garner is limited to exactly 2 expressions in the show. Confused and extremely confused. Don't get me started on her step daughter. What a bratty moody teen. Wish she were the one that had disappear - yes I said it.

    • +1

Completely agree, didn’t make it through the second episode. I will give it another go when there is more episodes as Apple shows are notorious for being a slow burn before a payoff (for all mankind, invasion).
Some of their shows are also notorious for being rubbish (The Essex Serpent, Echo 3) so 50/50 at this point.
Finding it hard to justify $9.99 a month for 3-4 watchable shows per year.

      • +1

        Omg, echo3 was so bad!

      • didn’t make it through the second episode.

Same! Checked Rotten Tomatoes, flop, but saw there this comment and started Big Little Lies. HBO rulez.

It becomes depressing to watch talented performers wasted on such dry, dull material, another limited series that wants to be “Big Little Lies” but ends up being so incredibly small.

    • +1

      Agree!

  • +4

Really looking forward to another few months of Apple TV+. There's some great shows!

    • +3

I'm 2 months into 3 month trial, couldn't find anything to watch yet.

      • +5

Ted Lasso. In my top 5 shows i have seen.

        • Thanks, will give it a go

          • +2

@reactor-au: (Politely) how could you not know about the success/following of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+, after 2 months?

            • +4

@chrism238: I'm not so much into sport, forgive me for judging a show by its cover

              • -8

@reactor-au: Ted Lasso is great 1st season, 2nd season and 3rd season goes away from that and more into woke stuff which got annoying for me which is a shame as i loved that show.

@shaibankek2: Ageism is the new Racism

                    • -1

@Marieah: Something a boomer would say

                    • @Marieah: Boomer isn't an age, it's a mindset

Equating racism with imaginary ageism is a good sign you have some experience here

                • @lonewolf: Then you would’ve loved ‘For All Mankind’ ;)

                  • +1

@fraxinus: For all mankind had some good episodes and some really awful ones. There were times I just turned it off mid episode but other times I was enthralled by it..stopped watching it around the end of season 3 though. Most of apple tv made shows are similar to the new Disney ethos..

I reckon Tehran is one of the best on there..slow horses is good as well as defending Jacob, echo was decent. Mosquito coast is decent. Blackbird, see, servant were all decent albeit at times slow..after party and 5 days at memorial were good too.

                • +4

                  @lonewolf:

                  woke stuff

Such as? Tick the box(es) that triggered you:

▢ people from different cultural background openly working together, being friends and occasionally (profanity)
▢ non-male people in management positions
▢ people who aren't heterosexual walking around without being thrown into prison
▢ men talking about their emotions

                  • @GrueHunter: Considering you have already decided..then no point. Btw I am a dark skinned migrant who has faced racism for most of my life. Including my family leaving 2 countries for that reason and a third country for a civil war..but let's not get facts in the way of an assumption.

              • +2

@reactor-au: Don't judge a show by the cover. Black Bird is another great show on Apple TV (but it isn't about birds). Check a new show against IMDB or rotten tomatoes and when a show has won the awards Ted Lasso has, it's a strong hint that it is above average: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations…

                • +2

                  @scratchy:

Black Bird is another great show on Apple TV (but it isn't about birds)

Next you’ll be telling me Ted Lasso isn’t about a Lasso named Ted

            • @chrism238: I know it sat there unwatched through all of our free six month prescriptions. I'm not into sports, and not much into most American comedy.

I judged the book by its cover and I was very, very wrong.

        • +1

I didn't think much of it. Ted is a caricature of a real person that I found more annoying than endearing.

          • @lunchbox99: He’s tolerable but not my favourite character either. However there are several others who more than make up for it imho (Roy, Nate, etc.)

          • @lunchbox99: OK Nathan

        • Ok so Ted Lasso was pretty good, I enjoyed season 1 and 2, so far the only show on the whole service that I enjoyed.

      • +10

Slow Horses and Severance are good

        • +3

          Also Foundation, For All Mankind

      • +7

Severence was fantastic. One of my favourite unique concepts last year. I can say I enjoyed it more than The Last of Us which was good but well over-hyped

      • -1

Same nothing else to watch apart from Ted lasso, rest content of Apple TV+ is all crap

    • oo is foundation S2 out yet? almost forgot i was waiting on that

  • +1

Sweet just in time to watch tetris

    • +1

Awesome movie! Loved Tetris since I was a teenager.

  • +1

Damn. Says for new subscribers only for me. Hopefully when the current sub finishes in 26/4 it will Let me to do this offer

  • +1

At this rate I'll never have to pay for Apple tv. Have the Telstra extension deal I don't have to trigger until August.

They might as well make apple tv FTA.

    • Or at least a year free everytime you buy a Mac, iPad, iPhone or Apple TV.

Not just the first time. There just isn’t enough content to keep up a subscription.

      • +1

This isn’t true “Only one offer per Family, regardless of number of devices purchased. You can share your Apple TV+ subscription with up to 5 other family members via Family Sharing.”
Found this out last year, bought iphone13 pro , I somewhat justified the cost because all the promotional info said “ 12 months free tv with purchase of any eligible device” terms and conditions are conveniently hidden. My partner had bought an iPad 18months prior and added the free 12 months to our family account. When I went to activate my 12 months on my new device it said I was ineligible because I had used that promotion previously

        • +2

Also, I believe they are now only offering 3 months free with new devices

        • Why not create a new Apple ID?
And return the Apple device in 2 weeks for 100% cashback 😉

        • I meant that is what Apple should do. Sorry I wasn’t clear.

          • @entropysbane: Ah ok, fair enough. I agree that there isn’t enough content for the cost. Similar with all these add ons to prime.

  • The Big Door Prize is reasonably interesting

  • Worked for me as a returning subscriber (only ever try subscribe during free promos)

  • +1

Ah, only new and returning subscriber. So does that mean I have to wait until my current subscription ends, then take up the offer?

    • +1

This. My current sub runs out 20 or so of May, so wondering if I have to cancel that first or what

  • Worked for me as a lapsed subscriber. Cheers OP

  • Thanks op, worked for me too as lapsed subscriber.

  • Recommendations to watch?

    • Ted Lasso, For All Mankind, Tehran, Severance, Black Bird

    • +1

      Almost forgot Acapulco

    • +1

Black Bird, For All Mankind (first two seasons), Ted Lasso, Shrinking (it's like Ted Lasso), Severance (weird), Mythic Quest, Slow Horses oh and the Beastie Boys docco if you like the Beastie Boys.

    • Movie - Greyhound (Tom Hanks).

  • Yet to use the Telstra 3months offer, waiting for Ted Lasso s3 to complete (and still havent seen s2!), then re-subbing.

Maybe able to stack this + the telstra one. Must check when that expires. (Edit Aug 16th on my account)

  • +1

I click to redeem free two month then Apple took $15 from account?

  • My sub just expired with the ps5 free 4 months and I was surprised this worked!

  • Awesome cheers 👍

  • Nice find OP! 👍👍

  • +2

Just an FYI, those who are paying for student price for Apple Music gets free Apple TV+ as the bonus

    • My previous free 2 months expired and I used the link from OP to get another free 2 months

  • Perfect for people wanting to see how Sevant ends. It didn't get a brain bending Em Knight Shamalon ending, but at least it actually ended.

  • +1

Screw Ted Lasso, when are we getting more Severance?

    • +10

Seasons 2 and 3 have been out for ages. You just don't remember it because you watched them out there.

Now get back to feeding the goats

      • +4

        Innie lives matter

  • Just redeemed thanks

  • Don’t know why it doesn’t work when clicked on accept?

  • I have Apple one Premier pack and always miss out on these :/

  • Thanks OP.

  • +2

Apple TV seems like the SBS of streaming services

    • +5

Hey that's not fair. SBS is actually good!

      • +2

I should say that I mean it’s got a lot of offbeat stuff that you expect to stumble across randomly

  • +2

The Selena Gomez mental health docu was raw and honest. Worth a watch.

  • Thank you for another free trial. Just watched episode 1 of "The Last Thing He Told Me". Nice houseboats.

  • I've had 2 free trials, most recently over the past summer now ended, and this worked for me. This one has given me 2 months and I was able to cancel immediately and continue until the end of the trail period unlike the last two which immediately cancelled the subscription.

  • Does this stack on-top of current membership?

    In the past, some stack.

  • So would it be best to try for this one (1 month) first, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/764874, then try for this one once expired?

    • Did not work for me (got 'new subscribers only')
But others reported it was fine for them

    • Actually, tried again and it was fine.
Possibly, last day of previous subscription ended in GMT time
Anyway, two more months now :)

      • Have to wait for the last subscription expired.

  • +5

Severance was amazing for anyone looking for something to watch on there. Probably my favourite show in the last 5 years or so.

  • onya Jenny

  • Sweet, can finally watch Pachinko with the correct colour-coded subtitles.

  • Appreciate the post, but I came to say that this does not stack with previous Will Smith movie code. :(

  • Remember to cancel as soon as you've redeemed the freebie.

I forgot the last time I redeemed a freebie and got charged $9.99/month for a month…

    • Use a disposable Visa/Mastercard number. At the end of the trial they'll try and take the money but fail. They'll keep trying for weeks during which time a subscriber can continue viewing.

      • where do you get a disposable credit card?

  • hi, what is the code? I clicked on the pic/deal, and it says "Get 2 Free Months of Apple TV+", then a button says "accept 2 months free", but no code…
    tks in adv…
