It appears that it isn't.
Seems you're right, I was just looking at camelx3 which I didn't realise doesn't include international Amazon via au
And yet the 5700X is regularly $270, so why bother
5600 vs 5700x vs 5800x from 3600?
5700X or 5800X3D for gaming.
A Ryzen 5 5600G is $190-199 here locally so not much of a deal. The rest are OK but close to their retail pricing here anyway ($369 for the 5800X, $309 for 5700G). Prices checked against StaticIce scraped retailers.
I got the 5600G from PCCG at $184 last October and I think there was a deal days later in the $160s, not Amazon though.
Wish the 5800x3d would have a bit of a drop now that the 7800x3d is out
The markets are barely related. 5800X3D mainly exists as the gaming upgrade path for existing Ryzen users. 7800X3D is for new builds.
Which in effect makes the 5800X3D a $550 upgrade and the 7800X3D+MB+DDR5 like a $1200 upgrade minimum.
I am currently sitting on a 3600 wanting to upgrade to a 5800X3D, but I can't justify it yet.
Nope. There's no real competition in this area
