Here's another cheap 1TB SATA SSD using TLC flash and a better alternative to the $67.35 Patriot P210 1TB SSD as it offers higher endurance at 800TBW (vs 480TBW) and higher read/write speeds.

Like many other budget SSDs this is DRAMless so it's not the best choice for an OS drive, but still a good choice for game storage, fast data storage and in USB enclosures.

They sell a QLC model too. I like to think this is more premium ;)

        Less $h1t =/= Premium.

    • +6

Can't you see that PREMIUM is also in bold? That means extra PREMIUM.

      • +7

Well she needs PREMIUM DUDE, PREMIUM!

        That's a bold claim

if you have to tell people your products are PREMIUM they probably arent

    also world famous brand "TIMETEC"

  • So annoying when a company website won't give you any info on who they are. About Us, generic info. Contact Us, a contact form (no addresses etc.)

There seems to be ONE article from TechRadar that suggests Timetec are a subsidiary of a subsidiary (Kioxia), but a quick search brings nothing up to even confirm that.

Their careers section has one job listing, stating 'Timetec International Inc, headquartered in San Jose, California.' Why make it so hard to find any info, when there's so many established suppliers/manufacturers of SSD/DRAM products?

    • This is their website. They're a Chinese company and aren't owned by Kioxia. Apparently they were once owned by Lite-on before splitting off and Lite-on was bought by Toshiba who bought Koxia.

Besides, what information are you after?

      • +2

That's the website I was on, and couldn't find any decent info on. Did you come across that info on their site, or somewhere else you have a link to?

I just wanted to know who they are, as so many OzB posts regarding RAM/SSDs nowadays are brands that aren't/weren't that well known. Never hurts to know who's actually behind the brand you're buying, especially when there's already so many established competitors. Saving $10 might not mean much to someone when comparing a well known brand to a relative unknown.

        • I did some research around reviews.

          • @Clear: Well then I guess back to what I originially said about the company not making this information anywhere near accessible, if you're 'souircing' information from reviews you won't link. Hopefully not that one & only article I found too.

    • timetec < liteon < kioxia < toshiba memory < toshiba

    • Surely none of this matters? If it's not Samsung or some other company that designs their own silicon, then it's all largely a wash.

  • Good do you know it's dram less?

    • DRAMless and uses pSLC cache instead like all other DRAMless SSDs. I'm unsure how much pSLC there is.

  • Chip prices have and will drop even further as the chip glut from China is now impacting the markets world wide. But not all memory is the same! Speeds, cache and design makes it hard to pick.

What I know is even top makers will be matching the price drops or go out of business with inventory unsold

Not associated with VaultTEC despite colour scheme.

    • Be careful installing in your PC in case it fallsout

  • Thanks, picked one up to expand my Eufy Homebase
