That's also my question..
OP. Thanks. 👍
How can it be so cheap?
cuz its pink
cuz it's junk
Because the switches are soldered in and the keycaps are ABS.
ABS and soldered switches are… good.
Corners cut wherever possible.
Seems to be the normal price for the blue switch one.
Not downplaying the post but I have frequently seen 60% wireless mechanical keyboards selling for $19.99 all year round. I actually think it was this one.
strongly not recommended, you usually buy a keyboard and use it for 2 years +, unless you eat keyboard for breakfast.
Throw in 50 more bucks to get a decent one.
any recommendations ?
Afaik plenty of options (dont exactly remeber brand) when they are on discount, which is quite frequent.
Me myself have 2 keychron, k6 and k2 and i am quite satisfied. Sometimes they go under sup 80.
Wireless is good but i ended up using as wired as too lazy to charge every month or two.
Tbh, for a good, well-known wireless mechanical keyboard, you will need to spend around $120 normally. For instance, the smaller keychron keyboards or the Anne Pro 2 (both have Gateron switches available) etc. The cheapest but decent wireless keyboard I heard would be the RK61 at around $90 (anne pro is $100 rn however).
If looking at wired, there are more budget options like Redragon for around $50 like the k552 (lower quality, only Outemu switches or theres the SK61 if after Gateron switches). There are lots of options if your budget is higher.
I definitely left out some budget keyboards however so research may help.
One thing I would like to note, I always buy mechanical keyboards when they are on sale or at a reduced price from Amazon warehouse rather than at its full price, so that might be a factor you want to consider.
And your recommendation at 70 bucks is ? I'm looking for a wireless keyboard to use instead of the laptop keyboard. Work has provided a generic logictech MK540 setup. Keys are horrible and the mouse is too small for my hand. Have purchased a razer deathadder V2 as I have their wired models and they work well. Now after a wireless keyboard. Doesn't even have to be mechanical but I'm using a G910 and G310 now and they are quite comfortable to use. I would like something that is backlit.
I go with keychron, you might have to wait a bit for their promotion.
Thanks - I was looking at the Logitech G613 but it's not backlit and there are reports of double click issues after short term use. I've been getting these myself now with the G910 and to a lesser extent the G310 but I've had both for a very long time and they've been very good. Some reviews seem to indicate it's a dust issue. I've done some cleaning, the G310 came up OK ish but the G910 is still a bit problematic and the Logictech keys don't come off anywhere near as easily as Razer keys.
I am patient and I can wait. Something like the K10 looks suitable although that's a bit more than 70 bucks. TKL would be fine as well
Any thoughts on Royal Kludge ?
@freesteakknives: I have an old Royal Kludge (discontinued, I don't think they do electro cap boards anymore). Very good case quality- as in solid, heavy, no flexing or creaking. Good switches. No idea about keycap quality because they got replaced years ago.
Keychron- good. Some decently priced, some quite pricey. They do normal and low-profile switches.
Logitech- no idea about their mech boards because they are generally looked down upon by mech board enthusiasts. Probably fine, probably use standard Cherry switches, who knows.
Razer- shit products from a shit company. Maybe some of their stuff is not shit, but why take the risk. And they are still a shit company.
Lots of other options. Ducky is an old trusted one, there are loads more newer options which I have not bothered to track. Lots of higher end options, but I don't think this is the thread for it.

Nah, they use their own propiertary switches, Romer G switches or something, which are honestly really s***. Logitech G boards in general are poor quality and value. Speaking from experience.
@CrispyChrispy: Oh geez, yeah. I remember trying a board with Romer Gs but also they had weirdly sharp shaped keycaps. Felt like garbage but I figure that was due to the caps. They haven't just ditched that and moved back to Cherry MX yet?
@rumblytangara: Don't believe so, no.
Not just the cheap keycaps that make it feel like garbage, the whole board is, stabilisers and all.
@freesteakknives: I'd personally avoid Logitech G boards like the plague, I had a G613 and key chattering issues got really annoying. Also happened to a G810 I owned. Switches feel mushy and scratchy anyway.
Royal Kludge or any of the other ones work fine, Keychron boards are typically good quality and value.
You're only using keyboards for 2 years?
A quality keyboard will easily last 10 years+ . I have a Filco and Topre board purchased about 10 years ago which still function fine and look good cosmetically.
He said 2 years plus. The implication is that unless you go through your keyboards in less than two years then it's better to spend a bit more and get one that works better
I have one, take note of the '?' key
Is the other 40% wired only?
