Worth getting a Westpac debit card for this and the Shopback promos?

    • +1

      That's what I was thinking 🤣

    • +4

      Mine didn't work.

      • -3

Time to contact the ombud. Westpac really have a lot to answer for…

    • +2

I did, but I need to transfer $2k in and out every month to avoid $5 fee.

      • +1

        Just schedule it :)

    • Any options for the cheapest one? Without needing hoops to jump through monthly?

  • +2

Thanks doweyy, got the $15 from my Westpac debit card

  • +2

Thanks doweyy, got the $15 3 months (I changed my mind, freebies gonna worth more than $15 😝) from my Westpac debit card

    • What freebies?

      • fast shipping (i think), prime game with free games and codes, prime stream and probably somestuffs im not aware of

  • If I am currently on the Amazon Prime free trial version, will I get an additional 3 months free or the $15?

      • +1

        Ok wow, thanks.

        • +1

You should get 3 months but it should cancel out whatever is left with the free trial afaik.

      • Are you sure…I thought it would just start the 3 months free

        • +2

They are wrong lol. I did it before and it just overrides your free trial (you lose your free trial and no $15).

      • Can confirm this is not the case, your membership just gets taken over, I suggest waiting till the end of the free month and then you can get 3 more for free.

  • +7

Didn’t work for me though. Had previously used it with CBA card.

    • Debit or credit?

    • new account? I had same error with commbank (main account had this promo with another card expired since) so I created a new account and used the same card for it to work. You just have to remember whether you have used this specific card for the promo.

  • +9

Didn't work for me - it said that I've already used my card for a previous offer.

    • Me too, I got this:

      "Something went wrong
Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product."

I vaguely recollect something here along these lines a few weeks ago, but can't be sure.

      • +9

I got the same message but retried by using different email address and it worked. And when claiming, used my actual Amazon login credentials.

        • +1

Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product.

          Different email address

Interesting… Also worth mentioning closed cards work as well (as long as the expiry date is still in date).

      • Me too

  • I have a debit Mastercard and nope

  • +1

Work for me, got $15 from my debit card thanks

    • What sort of savings account you got?

  • +4

Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product

    • -3

      Just make two separate orders

    • +1

Debit card, hows the same but still received email from Mastercard. Got $15 still.

    • +1

Use a different email address (use the + symbol if you're using Gmail). MasterCard seems to check email address has been used for a previous offer even with another card

      • +1

but when you use it on your amazon account, it will say that it was previously used. That's what I got.

        • +1

Cancel prime on your main account and either use a secondary account to get Prime for free for 3 months or sign up to prime on the second account and get the $15. Either option is better than not getting the benefit.

      • [Didn't work! Read EDIT 2] Can confirm this works. Just did my email and added (+westpac) in front of the @gmail.com part, and it went through! Thanks

Edit: I had previously claimed on the original email address, WITHOUT the +westpac bit

Edit 2: When I went through and signed in on Amazon, I got the following error: This account is not eligible for this offer. This benefit was used by this account previously. Contact Amazon Customer Service if you have questions about this transaction.

        DIDN'T work :(

        • You need to use an Amazon account that's never claimed the offer before. Just create a new one.

  • Thanks OP. Worked for me using my debit card. The $15 was added immediately to my gift card balance.

  • Worked. Cheers

  • +1

For those who are currently on a free trial, you get an extra 3 months. Bummer.

    • +1

You can get it by letting your free trial roll over to paid, then add the promo on first day of paid membership and once credited to your account you can cancel your prime membership before buying anything for a full refund. Worked for me today.

  • Worked, cheers op :)

  • +1

    Something went wrong
Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product

  • Awesome, thankyou op

  • If i'm using my parent's amazon prime account, do i put their registered email address with Amazon to get the $15 gift card?

    • -1

Which parent? Never mind the bollocks

  • Doesn't work. Looks like it's either targeted or for those who have never used this offer.

    • Yeah I remember doing this last year or the one before and Amazon says I've already used this offer before.

      • -2

Just report your card as lost… new number… profit

        • +2

Nothing to do with the card, it's to do with the Amazon account.

  • Can confirm it didn’t work for me, likely because I used a similar offer via Commbank

“ Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product”

    • +3

Same, but it does work if you enter a different email (however I can confirm the Amazon account also needs to be different to the one that received the offer last time). I might get a month of Prime on one of my other accounts and take the $15 gift card (already have several months of Prime to run on my main account which had the offer previously).

      • did you pay for a month or just do a month trial?

        • Haven't done either yet, but when I'm ready I reckon I'll just pay for a month (may have already done the trial on the account before anyway), ~$8 profit then after using the gift card on something I need anyway.

          • @MiscOzB: You can cancel the one month membership after you get the $15 gift card, I cancelled same day got full refund for my $6.99

            • @ozvictor: Ah thanks for the tip. Did you need to contact support to cancel?

              • @MiscOzB: No need to, you get pro rata refund, just cancel on the website (select manage membership and cancel), system will tell you if you are eligible for refund automatically

                • @ozvictor: I just cancelled my Prime membership after 3 days into the membership and couldn’t see the option where they will refund the pro-rata. The only option is the membership will expire at the end of the full 1 months time and won’t renew. Was on the website.

                  • +1

@ilovefullprice: Weird. Usually you can cancel and they instantly full refund if you haven't bought anything

                    • @I Smell Pennies: Oh maybe that’s why. I did buy something.

If I cancelled prime then only buy something with the $15 voucher, then I will still have to pay for delivery. So no real way of escaping this (by not having to pay anything).

  • +2

Cheers! Existing member and got the $15. Haven't done this deal before.

  • +1

My Westpac Debit is eligible but my Amazon account shows

This account is not eligible for this offer.
This benefit was used by this account previously. Contact Amazon Customer Service if you have questions about this transaction.

What have others done in this situation?

    • I used another email account and got through . But looks like only option is prime 3 mths free . I want the $15 GC /

      • You mean you made a new / used a different Amazon account?

  • Thank OP
I was thinking of choosing the free months but changed my mind. $15 is more valuable. I get free months offers for my previous accounts anyway from time to time.

  • How can I find the last date of prime membership? I am currently using free 6 months prime from optus but cannot find anywhere the last date of membership.

When I click " Cancel my membership" I get this message
    "Nothing to do here
No Prime management or cancellation option available for this account. Please check if you have logged in with the valid Prime account. For any further assistance, please contact customer service or visit our help page by clicking here."

    • +1

      Account
      Manage Prime membership
      Manage membership

      Date is there

      • I only see this
"Your Prime membership is activated through OPTUS. For any membership billing questions, contact OPTUS"

  • Cool it worked.. tried a couple of different emails with the same card number. Worked the 2nd time

    • That's what I keep getting… Grrrr

  • +1

Amateur/question- ridicule is ok if you provide the answer.
If I get Amazon prime for the video content. Does that membership give me all the free delivery that prime members get?

    • +3

      Yep it does.

Won’t ridicule you for the question, rather the negative view you have about OzB if you think questions will be auto-attacked. I think as a whole it’s pretty supportive

      • +1

Not a negative view of community at all. It's a amateur question so it deserves some ridicule.thanks for clarification

    • +1

If you play games, it also has a host of freebies as well!!

      https://gaming.amazon.com/home

  • Good deal, thanks

  • Thanks OP
Got it on my westpac debit card

  • Thanks, got my $15 voucher :)

  • Worked. Thanks.

  • My 28 Degrees Mastercard doesn't seem to work… but the website seems to be glitching.

      Westpac cards

Never has this offer worked for me , neither for Westpac nor for any other cards.

    • Same here. I do not understand how this works :)

Can someone explain which email Id do we need to use. Is it the one your card is associated or the one with Amazon account (as I have different one associated to card to the one I am having Amazon account).
