Not a bad mattress, but a little soft for my liking. I think they only come in medium firmness.

Only issue I have with these mattresses is their sizing. They're listed as being proper standard sizing, but I can tell you, they're a good inch to two shorter.
It's a pain, because in the kid's beds, their stuffed toys and whatever falls down between the mattress and bed end.

    • I bought one single size 3 years ago and then the sizing was perfect for the bed.

    • really? that's a big problem if it's an inch or two shorter. that's pretty much 50% of the height difference between a double and a queen..

      • Single and Double are 6'2". KS, Queen, and King are 6'8".

  • Why is there 2 posts about an aldi bed?

    • Because modern day society doesn't dictate how you should live your life…
This one is for Queens, the other Kings.

I bought a queen size around 5 or 6 years ago, replaced it late last year when we moved. Like what others have said, two issues with the mattress:

    • It's too soft. The edges sag to the point that even if I sit on the edge to put socks on, I will slide down. My husband and I don't have any back issues, so sleeping wise the softness didn't bother too much, but I would've preferred a bit more firm.

    • The size is weird. It was shorter than the bed frame. It would move over time so we'd have pillows and cushions falling and getting stuck between the frame and mattress. More of an annoyance but enough for me to not want to buy the same one again.

Maybe they've changed it now but this is just my experience from before.

isn't that always going to be an issue with mattresses in a box because of the fact that they are….in a box? i don't see how they can offer anywhere near the support of standard mattresses

      • My new Emma mattress came rolled up and in a box too. It's pretty firm and done have this sagging issue.

      • Likewise, not much of an issue with our Sleeping Duck II. Obviously it's not quite as good as a wire frame though.

  • Any feedback from those who got one today?

Picked up a Queen mattress. There were quite a few people early in the morning at the local ALDI buying up all different sizes. I was surprised to see that amount of people, usually those numbers are for TVs etc.
Got mine unrolled , its expanded up alright, user guide reckons gotta wait 48 hrs for it to settle before trying it out.
I might give it an extra day or so before I try it.
Will post back later in the week.

      • Thanks, let me know how you go with the Queen mattress, will appreciate feedback on firmness, edge support and actual mattress sizing (some people say it run small)

          Just as a quick first impression/review :
I have started using the queen mattress for 2 nights now (after letting it 'expand\settle' for approx 132hrs).
Both myself and wife had decent sleep last 2 nights, we both found the mattress firm enough for us , but not too firm.
We are both average weight\height, nothing extreme.
However, edge support is not the greatest, when I sit on the edge of the mattress, it is definitely less than our 12 year old Sealy posture zone mattress. But yea, not a fair comparison, the old Sealy was a normal non rolled $900 (2011 money) mattress vs ALDI 2023 rolled up $239 mattress.
Also, my understanding is that, with rolled up mattress types, typically they have lower edge support as that is the only way they can be manufactured and rolled up to fit into small boxes.
Comparing it to our kids Ozbargain special ZZZAtelier (king single) mattresses in a box ones, I think ALDI mattress does have more edge support than the ZZZAtelier.
We did have an extra memory foam mattress topper thing on top of the mattress , for added comfort and protection for it.
Overall, so far so good, we would recommend it for the price.
Hope this helps anyone who is still thinking of picking one up.

          • @metalhead: Thanks so much for the comprehensive review.

What about partner disturbance? Is it relatively stable when a partner flops around restlessly?

            • @HappyPants: Its honestly not too bad for partner disturbance. I couldnt tell, but then again, my wife literally is dead to the world when shes out, so we are probably a bad example of that.
Maybe look at the king size mattress, that might completely alleviate that issue.

  • if we're not satisfied, is returns easy ?

    • Aldi returns is pretty much no questions asked. The issue is getting the inflated mattress back to Aldi.

      • issuexia getting the deflated mattress back to Aldi.

        tnx
i wonder if it then goes to landfill, or a charity ..
