"We're sorry! This configuration is no longer available

    CPU Type: High End ()"

    • same

      • I did eventually get it to work by manually working the config

  • The default configuration at the link gives that. You need to configure similar to the specs listed in the deal.

  • It works if you select the mentioned config. Nice deal.

    • Thanks! Just added a note that 21CKCTO1WWAU2 variant configures to $1,639, whereas the 21CKCTO1WWAU3 comes to $1,679 (for identical specs). Got slightly confused about this but have ensure this post now has the AU2 link.

  • any thought about screen option:?
    16" WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100% sRGB, 400 nits, Factory Color Calibration

    or

    16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, Low Power

1920x1200 will need to add +$30

      1200p is more practical.

1600p you're probably* going to need to enable zoom in Windows which sucks.
(*unless your eyes are amazing and you can live at 100%)

If you want to run a game 1200p is also going to be better since you'll be more likely to get a playable framerate out of the IGP without scaling.

      • +1

Worth the extra money, set the scale to 125 or 150%. Much nicer to look at for $30 more.

    • +2

i'd choose the low power one.
battery life makes more sense to me than more (than necessary) pixels and better colour accuracy.
i'd leave those to external monitors.

    • I say go with high res panel, your eyes will thank you later

    • 1200p if battery life is important to you

  • +3

choose 256gb SSD and pay $1529

a bit too much to pay to upgrade to 512

    1509 if remove fingerprint scanner

  • Solid price. The same spec machine via Lenovo Pro comes to about $2600.

    • +1

Indeed, bought similar spec machine back in December for around $2400 with 3 years warranty

        My thoughts on the unit:

        • weight is great
        • screen is great
        • speed is great
        • ram scores low in benchmark but performs fine
        • sleep is random, sometimes doesn't wake up sometimes does
          — I ended up forcing hibernate to overcome that
        • battery life is great considering size and the performance
        • keyboard is too shallow and has flex, I'm comparing to T480s which has a nice solid keyboard with tactile feedback. but this is a losing war, they keep making shallower keyboarbs each year.
        • wish it had Thunderbolt port for docking…

I've had both the Intel (i7-1280P) and currently have the AMD (R7 6850U) version, and the AMD version as sold here is amazing. Intel one had crap battery life and quite hot to the touch.

I did once have a problem waking from sleep after a long time, I've since set it to hibernate after 180 minutes of sleep (which I prefer anyway to reduce drain when packed away) and no problems since.

Get the 2560x1600 panel, it's a nice crisp colour accurate display; windows dpi scaling is fine, it's not 2015 anymore. Battery life is still fantastic

The IGP in the AMD units is actually on par with thin and light discrete graphics options, especially the one in the Ryzen 7.

          • @helmutiffe: now you got me excited, I'm gonna try the hornets after 180min truck and see if they fixed the bloody sleep 😴
100% agree, the when is very pleasant and well with the$300 I paid for

          • @helmutiffe: got me excited too, does it charged from powerbank PD?
currently using X1 extreme gen1, hopefully will be big step up from it.
            thank you

            • @bonbon: I've tested a 45w PD power bank and it works, albeit a bit slow.

            • @bonbon: Yes, even an 18w power bank does the job; though more accurately with such a low estate it takes power from it, uses most of it to run, and barely charges if at all.

        • can you not dock it through the usb c port?

  • Hi all, is there any recommendation for the budget up to around $1200 laptop? Mainly for every day use. Thanks

    • if you don't mind refurbished ones, check out dell factory outlet, maybe?

  • Can anyone confirm if TopCashBack worked and tracked for the cashback?

    • +1

Tracked but status pending, payable in 12 weeks it's saying. I clicked through from topcashback to lenovo to edu store in the same browser tab.

BTW Lenovo now allows to configure this with Ryzen 5 and simple panel for $1369

    historical low for p16

original deal no longer applies tho. same configuration now is above 2k
