    Great deal thanks op

Supplier Sunwood- AU on that one. For the extra $1 I would stick with Amazon AU

    • Some people prefer the AmazonAu retailer for a few dollars more

    • ur link, it doesnt have that microsd card to sd adaptor

Piling-on for a stand-alone portable media player, so this should be enough to cover the mass of FLACs and DSDs and such.

    • Which one are you using?

Sony NW-A100TPS - yes the battery/storage sucks but I'm a sucker for a limited edition junk.

    According to ChatGPT:

If we assume the same average page size of 100 kilobytes and only consider the indexed web, a 500GB SD card would have been able to store the entire indexed web as of around the year 2008. At that time, the indexed web was estimated to be around 22 terabytes in size, which would have easily fit within the 500GB storage capacity of an SD card.

    Hmmmmmm

    • That's some fancy compression

  • Why not buy the Samsung Evo for like $65 something instead ??

Samsung is just as reputable as SanDisk IMO, and seller Amazon too

    • +2

Sandisk Extreme it's a bit better in my opinion.

    • You’re right you can get the Samsung evo for $49 AUD right now… performance wise they’re similar and hardly noticeable(we’re talking performance differences of mere seconds for writing GB files). Read wise, there’s no tangible differences especially if used for steam deck or Nintendo switch

I could only find the Samsung Evo Plus 512gb for $65.80 on Amazon, and $59.95 on PCByte after shipping.

Also, for comparison the Sandisk extreme seems to have higher read speed than the Evo, but they share the same write speed.

        Sandisk Extreme: 190MB/s read,130MB/s write
Samsung Evo Plus: 130MB/s read, 130MB/s write

  • Just wondering how many micro SD ozbarhainers usually have? So tempting but I just have too many 128gb

Not a great deal. A better one is actually Samsung Evo 512GB with ~ same read/write speeds if we are talking about using the s lSD card for portable gaming etc.

You make a valid point, but this is a higher tier product even if many won't see a difference.
I don't think the existence of a competing (arguably worse) product at a lower price makes this deal neg worthy.

    • +1

That's not how negs work mate. This is the cheapest this particular card has been for a long time. It's definitely a deal.
If people wish to buy the Samsung offering, fine… but that's a different product.
I'd personally take Sandisk Extreme over a Samsung Evo any day, hence the price difference.

This is 4x the storage of my Macbook air. Fml

  • Price back up to $100… deal over :(.
